Tyla Jokes She ‘Owns Water Now' in 1B Streams Celebration Video
Tyla became the first African solo artist to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify, the music platform confirmed on Wednesday, February 19.
On February 20, Tyla took to Instagram to celebrate her breakout smash 'Water' hitting 1 billion streams on Spotify. As soon as she heard the news in real-time, the singer could not stop screaming and clapping her hands. The fun clip saw her share the news with her friends and team members, who celebrated with her.
Tyla was her usual bold self when she heard the news. The video captured her serving looks in a fun bra top and a Dior cap. Keeping her long tresses open, the singer paired her fit with large hoop earrings and other accessories. Joking with her team to begin the celebrations, she said, 'You all don't do nothing! I'm supposed to have a bouquet. I'm supposed to have a cake.'
Tyla captioned the video, 'MY FIRST BILLIIIIIIIIII. I own water now.' While fans could not be present with her to celebrate, they took the party to the comments section. One called her 'a superstar in the making' while others congratulated her on the massive feat.
Tyla released 'Water' in July 2023 ahead of her self-titled debut album. The hit number ranked seventh on the Billboard Hot 100 and also received the Best African Music Performance award at the Grammys 2024. The song also earned a Billboard award for Top Afrobeats Song and MTV VMA for Best Afrobeats Video.

Coldplay's Song Climbs To New Global Peaks 25 Years After Its Debut
Coldplay introduced itself to the world with its debut album Parachutes, which arrived in summer 2000. The set produced several hit singles, including 'Shiver,' 'Yellow,' 'Trouble,' and 'Don't Panic,' but these days, fans are consuming the title thanks largely to one album cut. A perfect storm of virality and social media attention is helping that track not only become a hit, but rise higher and higher each week on the Billboard charts. 'Sparks' Scores New Chart Highs 'Sparks' began to attract a new audience months ago, and since then, it's become a fixture on charts in both the United Kingdom and the U.S. In America, 'Sparks' appears on eight Billboard rankings, and this frame it earns new high points on half of them. The track performs best on the Hot Alternative Songs chart, lifting one space to No. 8, fittingly, in its eighth frame on the tally. It also advances one spot to No. 79 on the Hot 100 and reaches newly-certified peaks on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S., improving to Nos. 87 and 119, respectively. Climbing Across Rock and Alternative Charts The same Coldplay cut climbs on two other genre-focused rosters this week. 'Sparks' inches up one rung to No. 11 on the Hot Rock Songs chart and also steps up one space to No. 13 on Hot Alternative Songs tally. Those marks are just shy of its career highs, as it has managed to soar higher before. 'Sparks' Helps Parachutes Soar Thanks to the ongoing success of 'Sparks,' Parachutes is once again a win on several charts in America. At the moment, it's sliding on the Top Alternative Albums, Top Rock & Alternative Albums lists and the Billboard 200, dipping to Nos. 19, 41, and 156, respectively. The project may be on the decline, but the fact that it's still on all three lists so many years after its release shows just how much the single is driving attention to the band's first full-length. Coldplay Claims Multiple Hits in America Coldplay fills half a dozen spaces on Billboard's global rankings, but in the U.S., the group only manages more than one hit on the Alternative Streaming Songs chart. As 'Sparks' falls to No. 10 there, 'Yellow' and 'Viva La Vida' both decline to Nos. 13 and 25. Those are the only other placements for the Grammy-winning outfit in America specifically. The Lasting Impact of Coldplay's Debut Album When Parachutes first arrived 25 years ago, it introduced the world to Coldplay's signature blend of atmospheric rock and introspective songwriting. The album won the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album and has since gone multi-platinum in several countries. 'Yellow' became the band's breakout single, and now, 'Sparks' is giving the set an unexpected second life.

Justin Bieber's Fans Move From One Hit Single To The Next
When Justin Bieber surprise-released his new album Swag about a month ago, he focused fans' attention on lead single "Daisies." That tune earned a huge debut on a number of Billboard charts and has largely fallen since then, although it has been picking up steam lately on pop radio. As people move past "Daisies," they've turned their attention to another track from the same project — "Yukon" — which this week reaches a new peak on several tallies and even manages to debut on multiple Billboard rankings at the same time. 'Yukon' Debuts on Three Charts Bieber's "Yukon," the second official single from Swag, launches on a trio of the rankings in the United States. It opens highest on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart, where it begins its time at No. 7. Bieber has now collected 17 top 10s on the list of the top-selling tunes in those styles and a milestone 25 total hits on the roster throughout his career. Radio Airplay Begins for 'Yukon' The same Swag single is also just getting started at various radio formats. "Yukon" opens at No. 35 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and just below the top 40 region, at No. 41, on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay list. In both instances, Bieber collects his milestone tenth win. 'Yukon' Climbs to New Peaks on Multiple Tallies As "Yukon" debuts on three charts, the cut hits a new all-time best showing on two other tallies. On the Rhythmic Airplay chart, "Yukon" surges from No. 33, where it debuted last week, to No. 17. At the same time, it improves its standing by just one space on the R&B Digital Song Sales roster, leaping to No. 5. R&B Success Keeps 'Yukon' at the Top "Yukon" is proving to be a huge win specifically in the R&B space, as it's being pushed to that audience, while "Daisies" caters more to those who favor pop. "Yukon" holds at No. 1 on the R&B Streaming Songs ranking and No. 3 on the Hot R&B Songs chart, even as it declines on more generalized lists like the Hot 100 and Streaming Songs tally. 'Daisies' Gains Ground on Pop Radio "Daisies" is also slipping on the Hot 100, Streaming Songs chart, and both of Billboard's worldwide tallies, but when it comes to radio, the still-new cut is gaining ground. Three weeks into its life on both the Pop Airplay and Adult Pop Airplay charts, "Daisies" grows to new highs, hitting No. 17 on the top 40 list and No. 18 on the ranking aimed at a more mature pop-loving audience. Another Radio Songs Win for Justin Bieber The cut also becomes another top 40 smash for Bieber on the Radio Songs ranking, where "Yukon" has yet to land. "Daisies" barely makes it to that space as it opens at No. 45, giving the Canadian Grammy winner his thirty-seventh placement on the hugely competitive list.

Black Sabbath's Biggest Hit Surges To New Highs On Multiple Billboard Charts
This week in America, Black Sabbath has four songs on the Billboard charts. All of them appear on multiple tallies, and each one climbs to a new high point on at least one or two lists as consumption of everything connected to the late rocker surges, with listeners celebrating his life and legacy weeks after his death was announced. 'Paranoid' Leads Black Sabbath's Chart Success One tune, "Paranoid," has stood out for decades as Black Sabbath's most famous. This week, it not only appears on the most Billboard tallies, but also reaches never-before-seen peaks on more rankings than any of the group's other singles in what has become a huge frame for the cut. Six New Peaks for 'Paranoid' "Paranoid" lives on half a dozen Billboard charts this week, including some focused on consumption in the U.S., general listening around the world, and streaming activity. The Black Sabbath smash rises to a newly-established high on six charts at once. The tune also keeps at its all-time best placement of No. 5 on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales ranking and debuts at No. 43 on the Streaming Songs tally, earning the band its first-ever appearance on that list. Global Rankings Show 'Paranoid' Surging Worldwide Looking worldwide, "Paranoid" jumps to new highs on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. The track debuted just last week, and in its second frame, surges to No. 25 on the all-encompassing ranking and No. 32 on the list that excludes all sales and streaming numbers from American listeners. 'Paranoid' Breaks Into Top 10 on Multiple Rock Charts Looking specifically at America, "Paranoid" jumps into the top 10 for the first time on both the Hot Rock Streaming Songs and Hot Rock & Alternative Songs charts. The Black Sabbath classic pushes from No. 12 to No. 8 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs ranking — the general list of the biggest tunes in those styles in the country — and surges from No. 14 to No. 6 on the roster that focuses only on the most-streamed rock cuts. "Paranoid" also hits new highs on the Hot Rock Songs and Hard Rock Streaming Songs tallies, settling in at Nos. 7 and 3, respectively. Digital Sales Slip as Streaming Drives Momentum In just its second week on two purchase-only rosters, "Paranoid" declines as streaming is keeping the Black Sabbath favorite going. Last week, it debuted on the Digital Song Sales chart at No. 5 and on the Rock Digital Song Sales ranking in the same spot. This frame, it slips one space on the rock-only ranking and three spaces to No. 8 on the all-style list of the bestselling tunes throughout the country. The Legacy of Black Sabbath's 'Paranoid' "Paranoid" was first released in 1970 as the title track from the band's sophomore album, and it became the rocker's breakthrough hit in the U.K. and U.S. More than 50 years later, the single's reinvigorated chart success underscores its role in shaping the sound of heavy metal and its ability to connect with listeners across generations.
