Bills or Ravens: who has the NFL's top offense?

Yahoo Sports NFL analyst Nate Tice, fantasy analyst Matt Harmon and NFL writer Charles McDonald discuss their lists for the top offenses entering the season - and why the battle between Buffalo and Baltimore continues. Hear the full conversation on 'Football 301' - and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube or wherever you listen. View more Video Transcript Matt, the biggest Ravens believer, the biggest Lamar Jackson fan here. Why do the Ravens get the little tip of the cap over the Bills for you, and why are these your top two offenses, the Bills and Ravens? Let's, let's hear it. Well, the Ravens have Rashod Bateman and the Bills don't. Uh, next question. No, but seriously, I do think I like, I do actually trust the pass catchers in Baltimore over Buffalo, which is a big part of the reason why I broke the tie in favor of them. And I, I still think Derrick Henry is a really good running back. I think that offensive line in Baltimore really overperformed expectations. I probably, I think the Bills have the better offensive line. So again, like these are very, very close, but yeah, I did kind of come down to the pass catchers for me, that Rashod Bateman, Zay Flowers, really nice 12 punch at the wide receiver position. The likely injury right now is a little bit of a bummer. He's kind of questionable for week one, but you know, Mark Andrews is still a good player too, so Buffalo, they're probably gonna run out like Keion Coleman at X again and Josh Palmer at the flanker, and that's just gonna be a lot of Khalil Shakir getting targets underneath. So there's a like a collection of pass-catching talent here. I just think the group in Baltimore is a little bit better than Buffalo. Charles. What about you? How'd you split the difference? I'm an offensive line for, I guess my tiebreaker. Baltimore, I was too low on their offensive line last year. I still think saying they overperformed is kind of accurate. You know, it's still not like a group of world beaters, but they blocked well enough that two Hall of Fame football players in their prime can go out there and absolutely demolish. So that's good. I made on Lamar, Rashod Bateman, like the extension there, like this is gonna be an elite offense, but I just thought that Buffalo's offense was a little more sturdy. Last year we learned something really cool about Josh Allen where what does Josh Allen look like without Stefon Diggs? Well, I guess he looks. Like the MVP. I think it makes you hard to defend when your quarterback is so good, your offensive line is so good. I actually really like the Josh Palmer signing for them because he's probably just like an average starting receiver, but that's probably all they really needed. They have enough. They have enough of them to win MVP again. The offensive line's awesome, the running the ball. I don't know. I don't really have too much to say besides that. Close

Does Micah Parsons' trade request mean things are really over for him in Dallas?

OXNARD, Calif. — It was a bizarre scene at the Dallas Cowboys' training camp facility Friday shortly before noon. Although the team had the day off, wide receiver George Pickens and cornerback Kaiir Elam were made available to reporters. Shortly after Pickens left the podium and Elam's session was getting underway, Micah Parsons fired off one of the most famous social media posts in Cowboys history. Advertisement Star players ask to be traded all the time. It's going on right now with the Washington Commanders and WR Terry McLaurin. It happened back in February with the Cleveland Browns and DE Myles Garrett. But it's unheard of when it comes to the Cowboys. Contract situations have led to plenty of drama recently with Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Zack Martin, Ezekiel Elliott and Dez Bryant. None of them got to the point where they requested to be moved. But Parsons did just that Friday. 'I did everything I could to show that I wanted to be a Cowboy and wear the star on my helmet,' he shared in a lengthy statement. 'Unfortunately, I no longer want to be here.' Parsons then explained the little movement in his contract negotiations and said he personally made a trade request with Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones. There's frustration on both sides. Dallas felt it had a deal agreed to with Parsons back in May. But Parsons wanted it to be finalized by having Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones talk with his agent David Mulugheta. The two sides have still yet to speak. It'll be very interesting to hear how Jerry Jones responds. Parsons is under contract through this season and can be franchise tagged the next two. There's a good chance Jones will voice that the next time he speaks to reporters. And that probably won't calm the waters. Where do things go from here? It would be one thing if Parsons was back in Texas or in Cabo San Lucas like Elliott, Lamb and Martin during their holdouts. But Parsons is in California with the team. He has attended every practice. Will he continue that? He has said he wants to be around his teammates, showing leadership. But his body language during recent practices has shown a player who has had enough of watching off to the side. Micah Parsons watching d-line drills — Jon Machota (@jonmachota) July 30, 2025 Things have likely gotten to a point where Parsons wants to be back on the field with a new deal and believes this request is his best piece of leverage. Parsons' closest friend on the team, cornerback Trevon Diggs, has been having his own issues with the front office. He was docked $500,000 of his salary for not doing enough of his offseason rehab from a surgically-repaired knee at the team's headquarters. Advertisement Diggs changed his X profile picture to a photo of Parsons. Parsons responded to a post on X on Thursday night of him and Diggs with a gif saying: 'One last time.' The gif appeared to be in reference to it potentially being the final season in Dallas for both players. Other Cowboy players also showed their support for Parsons on social media. Star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb posted the following on X: 'Never fails dawg. Just pay the man, what you owe em. No need for the extra curricular.' All of this points to Brian Schottenheimer facing his toughest task to date in his first season as head coach. He will have to walk a fine line of supporting the star pass rusher but also not taking shots at his employer. Schottenheimer has done a good job of limiting potential distractions early in camp, but this has taken things to a new level. It still seems highly unlikely that the Cowboys would seriously consider trading Parsons. While this has started getting uglier than the others, things usually change quickly when the pen hits the paper on a new contract. Following a preseason game in 2019 when backup running back Tony Pollard ran well, Jerry Jones joked: 'Zeke who?' during the former Pro Bowl running back's contract holdout. While that bothered Elliott, the two laughed about it later after signing his new contract. They then posed with a T-shirt that said, 'Zeke who?' About an hour after Parsons' post on Friday, Stephen Jones was getting in his usual steps around the Cowboys' practice fields. It was a typical, beautiful sunny southern California day around 73 degrees. A reporter said: 'Never a dull day.' A smiling Jones didn't seem bothered by the current events, responding, 'Why have a dull day when you can have a pretty day, too.' It's tough to disagree with the weather, but the situation with Parsons has officially become ugly.

Micah Parsons Next Team Odds: Will Cowboys Trade Star DE?

The big ball has dropped in Big D. After the Cowboys and Micah Parsons have so far failed to agree on a contract extension, the star defensive end officially asked for a trade on Friday. Will Jerry Jones & Co. actually honor his request? See the odds for his next team at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Aug. 1. Micah Parsons next team Cowboys: -300 (bet $10 to win $13.33 total)Eagles: +1000 (bet $10 to win $110 total)Patriots: +1000 (bet $10 to win $110 total)Chargers: +1500 (bet $10 to win $160 total)Cardinals: +1600 (bet $10 to win $170 total)49ers: +1600 (bet $10 to win $170 total)Rams: +1800 (bet $10 to win $190 total) It would be shocking if the Cowboys actually traded Parsons, right? Dallas' star defender has spent four years with the franchise, and since stepping foot on the field, he's been one of the most dominant forces in the NFL. In those four professional seasons, he's been named a Pro Bowler four times, first-team All-Pro twice, second-team All-Pro once and was NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021. He's also averaging just over 13 sacks and nearly 16 tackles for loss per season. Still, Parsons is set to enter his fifth year with the Cowboys without a contract extension. With that, Parsons posted a statement on X on Friday afternoon, expressing his frustration with not having an extension, and announcing that he no longer sees a future in Dallas. Shortly after Parsons posted that message, Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb voiced his support for his teammate on the same platform. So, if the Cowboys somehow decided it would be better to trade Parsons than give him an extension, where could he land? You won't believe who is tied for second on the oddsboard: the Eagles. Philly is arguably Dallas' biggest rival, and is the reigning Super Bowl champion. The Eagles had the best defense in the league last season, and were the only team that allowed fewer than 300 yards per game (278.4). They were also one of two teams that allowed fewer than 18 points per game (17.8). Want great stories delivered right to your inbox?
