Kai Trump and Charlie Woods endure very different days at South Florida golf tournament

Daily Mail25-06-2025
With two of their parents dating each other, all eyes were on the children of Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump at a junior golf tournament in Florida.
Charlie Woods, Tiger's son, teed off in the 41st edition of the Nicklaus Junior Championship.-
Also teeing off was Kai Trump, the daughter of Vanessa and Donald Trump Jr, and the granddaughter of President Donald Trump.
The two-round tournament wrapped up on Tuesday afternoon at the private Tequesta Country Club - located north of the pro golf enclave of Jupiter.
Charlie finished even-par for the tournament with a final round 69 (2-under) to place sixth in a field of 122 boys golfers.
Meanwhile, Kai struggled to a final round score of a 3-over 74, putting her 17-over for the tournament and tied for 21st out of 32 golfers.
Both Charlie and and Kai are in high school - with Kai already committed to play golf at the University of Miami as a part of their Class of 2030.
Charlie, on the other hand, is starting to make a name for himself after a notable win on the junior golf circuit which saw his ranking jump from No. 606 to No. 14.
It's been an eventful year for the Woods family after Tiger went public with his relationship with Vanessa Trump.
That announcement came 10 days after DailyMail.com exclusively broke the news that the golf icon was dating Donald Trump Jr.'s ex-wife.
Alongside two pictures of the loved-up couple, Woods wrote: 'Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together.
'At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.'
The couple have the blessing of the President, with Trump himself saying he was happy when he learned that they had become an item.
'He told me about it, and I said, 'Tiger, that's good, that's good. I'm very, happy for both.' But they just let them both be happy. Let them both be happy. They're both great,' Trump said.
The relationship has the blessing of the president - Trump paid tribute to the pair of them
'I love Tiger and I love Vanessa. He and I have a very special, very good relationship with Tiger. I played golf with him a couple of times over the last month, and he's a fantastic guy and a fantastic athlete.'
Additionally, Tiger's mother, Kultida, passed away in February - a devastating blow as the matriarch of the Woods family died at the age of 80.
'At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.'
Tiger himself has been absent from the course after suffering an injury to his Achilles as he prepared for the Masters back in April. However, he was recently seen without a brace on his knee riding a golf cart while watching Charlie.

Nathan Church, Cardinals aim for sweep of Marlins

August 20 - The St. Louis Cardinals, who will shoot for a three-game sweep of the host Miami Marlins on Wednesday, are giving Nathan Church a shot in center field. The 25-year-old rookie is getting his opportunity in part due to the left ankle sprain that landed regular center fielder Victor Scott II on the injured list on Sunday. "He's a good defender," Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said of Church. "He has no fear." Church gets extremely high marks (70 on 20-80 scouting scale) for his speed. He also gets strong numbers for his arm and fielding ability (60 for both). A left-handed hitter, Church made it through three levels of the minors this year, including Triple-A, hitting a combined .329 with 19 doubles, five triples, 13 homers, 50 RBIs, 16 steals, 67 runs and a .911 OPS in 86 games. Church has started 0-for-10 in the majors, but he earned his first RBI on a sacrifice bunt as St. Louis posted a 7-4 win over Miami on Tuesday. "He understands the game, and he has put together some pretty good numbers in Triple-A," Marmol said. "I like his at-bats and overall approach. I have a high level of interest in seeing him up here." Scott, who has a .623 OPS and 31 steals on 33 attempts, is expected to return late this month. The same is true for teammate Brendan Donovan (strained left groin). The second baseman, who went on the injured list on Monday, retroactive to Friday, ranks third on the team in doubles (25) and is fourth in OPS (.750). Thomas Saggese moved from third base to second base when Donovan got hurt, went 2-for-16 in his first four games after the shift before breaking out Tuesday night. He went 3-for-4 with two runs, an RBI and a stolen base. The Wednesday pitching matchup is set to feature a pair of right-handers: St. Louis' Andre Pallante (6-10, 5.04 ERA) and Miami's Sandy Alcantara (6-11, 6.31). Pallante -- like Church -- is from UC Irvine. Church was an 11th-round pick in 2022. Pallante was a fourth-round selection in 2019. In six career appearances against Miami, including two starts, Pallante is 1-1 with a 1.40 ERA. He fired seven shutout innings while beating the Marlins 7-1 on July 28. Pallante yielded just one hit and one walk while striking out four. Alcantara is 2-4 with a stellar 1.71 ERA in seven career starts against the Cardinals -- his first organization. The Dominican Republic native signed with the Cardinals in July 2013 as a 17-year-old. Four years later, Alcantara was traded to Miami along with Zac Gallen and two other players in a deal that sent Marcell Ozuna to St. Louis. The rest of the story is well known. Alcantara won the National League Cy Young Award in 2022, had Tommy John surgery in October 2023, missed all of last year and has had trouble finding his old form this year. If Alcantara is able to hand off a lead to the bullpen on Wednesday, the Marlins won't be able to call on right-hander Anthony Bender. The setup reliever was placed on the injured list on Tuesday due to a stress reaction in his right leg. He will miss the rest of the year. In 51 games this year, Bender posted a career-best 2.16 ERA with four saves. "We're going to miss Anthony," Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said. "He put together a fantastic season." --Field Level Media

Orlando Bloom 'moves into £13million bachelor pad which screams I'm filthy rich and single' after split from Katy Perry

Orlando Bloom has reportedly moved into a '£13million bachelor pad' after his split from Katy Perry. The Lord Of The Rings star, 48, has relocated to a seaside property in Miami that is 'perfect for entertaining' for a fresh start following the heartbreak. A source told The Sun: 'Orlando's new house screams, "I'm filthy rich and single"' 'The house is a proper bachelor pad and perfect for parties and entertaining. 'Orlando is surrounded by other famous people, too. Kourtney Kardashian and her husband Travis Barker live just down the road, as well as Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis. Kevin Costner lives on the same street, too. 'It's right on the beach and Orlando has been seen there loads in the past few weeks. He seems to be settling right in and has already made friends with his direct neighbours.' Daily Mail has contacted Orlando's representatives for comment. It comes after Katy shared a rare photo of her daughter Daisy following her split with ex Orlando. The pop star, 40, posted the photo with her four-year-old daughter as she traveled across the United States on her Lifetimes Tour. After playing a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden in New York City last week, Perry took to Instagram to share a series of photos of herself and her daughter exploring the East Coast. The cover photo for her post showed her posing underneath an MSG sign while her daughter played with a toy dog in the venue referred to as 'The World's Most Famous Arena.' Perry also included photos of herself and her daughter visiting the Boston Museum of Science in Massachusetts. In a couple of the snapshots, Perry captured Daisy posing in a spacecraft similar to the one that Perry traveled in when she went on an 11-minute suborbital flight with Jeff Bezos 's now-wife Lauren Sanchez and the rest of Blue Origin 's all-female crew. 'EAST COAST I [LOVE] U. Sorry I wrote a song about the West Coast but here's an East Coast split,' she wrote in her caption before embarking on the final leg of her US tour. Up next, Perry will be heading to Raleigh, North Carolina; Nashville, Tennessee; Atlanta, Georgia; and Tampa and Miami, Florida, before traveling to South America, the UK and Europe. She also included a mirror selfie in a hotel as she documented her adventures on tour. Perry shares her only child with Bloom, 48, and posted the photo album featuring Daisy just weeks after her now-ex was slammed by fans for posting an 'inappropriate' photo of their child. Her latest post also comes just over two weeks after Katy was spotted on an intimate dinner date with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau following the end of her engagement. Perry and Bloom made headlines in June when it was reported that the pair had called off their engagement and that their 'relationship was over .' The former couple were together for nearly a decade. While confirming their split in a statement the following month, Perry and Bloom said Daisy remained their 'shared priority.' The exes reunited while vacationing in Italy and again in Australia, where Perry was touring in June, to spend time together with their daughter. Perry's split from her ex-fiancé Bloom came to light in June, six years after they got engaged in 2019. Katy gave birth to Daisy the following year. At the time, a source told Us Weekly: 'Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable ,' while adding that the separation was 'not contentious' so far. 'Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life,' the source added. The Teenage Dream hitmaker was previously married to Russell Brand from 2010 until their divorce in 2012 .

College football toughest schedules: Which teams face tough roads?

USA TODAY Sports has a preseason glance at the Bowl Subdivision's most difficult slates includes plenty of teams from the SEC and Big Ten, including Wisconsin, Florida, Arkansas and Ohio State. But there are multiple teams in the ACC staring down a rocky road from September to December. One, Stanford, will face off with Notre Dame and other difficult games under interim coach Frank Reich. PATH TO PLAYOFF: Sign up for our college football newsletter Beginning with Wisconsin, these Power Four teams are set to tussle with the unfriendliest schedules of the 2025 season - on paper, at least: Wisconsin Three toughest games: at No. 8 Alabama, at No. 14 Michigan, vs. No. 2 Ohio State. After getting started with Miami (Ohio) and Middle Tennessee, the Badgers cap non-conference play with a trip to Tuscaloosa before taking on an absolutely brutal run in the Big Ten. In addition to the Wolverines and Buckeyes, Wisconsin takes on Maryland, Iowa, Washington and No. 12 Illinois at home, and No. 7 Oregon, No. 19 Indiana and Minnesota on the road. Luke Fickell's program has to show progress in his third season; this schedule won't help the Badgers turn the corner in the standings. No. 17 Florida Three toughest games: at No. 9 LSU, vs. No. 1 Texas, vs. No. 4 Georgia (in Jacksonville, Florida). Florida was able to grab eight wins last season against a similarly hard SEC slate, salvaging Billy Napier's rapidly diminishing job security and creating pretty massive expectations for 2025. The Gators will have to navigate through rocky waters once again, with a schedule also featuring No. 21 Texas A&M, No. 15 Mississippi and No. 18 Tennessee in addition to No. 10 Miami and Florida State in non-conference action. Mississippi State Three toughest games: vs. Tennessee, vs. Georgia, vs. Texas. The Bulldogs' schedule almost guarantees another year spent at the bottom of the SEC. Six of Mississippi State's eight conference opponents are in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll. There are also games against No. 11 Arizona State and Northern Illinois in September. Arkansas Three toughest games: vs. No. 5 Notre Dame, at LSU, at Texas. At least Arkansas draws Mississippi State, ensuring at least one SEC win. There are another two non-conference wins in Alabama A&M and Arkansas State. Everything else is brutal. Here's the run after meeting the Red Wolves: Mississippi (road), Memphis (road), Notre Dame, Tennessee (road), A&M, Auburn, Mississippi State, LSU (road), Texas (road), Missouri. Syracuse Three toughest games: vs. Tennessee (in Atlanta), at No. 5 Clemson, at Notre Dame. Syracuse will have a hard time matching last year's very impressive 10-win finish under rookie coach Fran Brown while taking on two high-profile playoff contenders in the Volunteers and Irish in non-conference play. It's not much easier in the ACC, where the Orange take on Clemson, No. 16 SMU and Miami. No. 9 LSU Three toughest games: at Clemson, vs. Florida, at Alabama. A potential make-or-break year for coach Brian Kelly opens with a referendum game at Clemson. (Losing season openers has kind of been the program's thing under Kelly.) With Clemson, the Gators and Mississippi coming in the first five weeks, we'll have a very clear picture of what the Tigers are about by the end of September. The season finale at Oklahoma could end up as an at-large playoff elimination game should the Sooners rebound after a rocky SEC debut. Stanford Three toughest games: at SMU, at Miami, vs. Notre Dame. Offseason attrition, a late-in-the-game coaching change and this schedule combine to place Stanford at or near the bottom of the Power Four power rankings heading into the regular season. In addition to the Mustangs, Hurricanes and Irish, the Cardinal have road trips to Hawaii, No. 23 Brigham Young, Virginia and North Carolina. UCLA Three toughest games: vs. Penn State, at Indiana, at Ohio State. Nico Iamaleava's arrival from Tennessee has made UCLA a trendy pick to add a win or two to last year's record and reach the postseason. Can the Bruins find those wins somewhere on this schedule? They get started with Utah and a trip to UNLV, one of the best teams in the Group of Five, and then close the season with Indiana, Nebraska, Ohio State, Washington and rival Southern California. No. 2 Ohio State Three toughest games: vs. Texas, vs. Penn State, at Michigan. The Buckeyes started by hosting Texas in one of the biggest games of the regular season in the FBS. Ohio State close with rival Michigan, winners of four in a row in the rivalry. Between, there's another hugely impactful matchup with Penn State and a road trip to Illinois. If for nothing else, the schedule is noteworthy for pitting OSU against two of the top three teams in the preseason Coaches Poll. No. 13 South Carolina Three toughest games: at LSU, vs. Alabama, vs. Clemson. Almost any SEC team could fit in this spot. But the Gamecocks should be highlighted for bookending the regular season against ACC opponents in Virginia and Clemson while taking on the most difficult seven-game stretch of any team in the FBS. After a friendlier start, Carolina ends the year with LSU, Oklahoma, Alabama, Ole Miss (road), A&M (road), Coastal Carolina and the Tigers.
