Lilo & Stitch premiered in India in May 2025 and will debut on JioHotstar soon. A sequel is set for 2026.
Lilo & Stitch, which premiered in Indian theatres in May 2025 and became a box office success, is now set for its digital debut. After enjoying a strong run on the big screen and a limited rental release, the beloved Disney live-action adaptation is gearing up for a full-fledged streaming launch on JioHotstar, also available via OTTplay Premium.
When and where to watch Lilo & Stitch
On August 15, JioHotstar unveiled a new poster of Lilo & Stitch and confirmed that the film will begin streaming on the platform from September 3, 2025. Viewers can enjoy the movie in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada.
Lilo & Stitch surpassed Mission Impossible box office
The summer box office saw a massive clash as Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible franchise, The Final Reckoning, hit theatres on May 23, going head-to-head with Disney's much-anticipated live-action remake of its 2002 classic, Lilo & Stitch.
While both films opened strong and shattered records, it was Disney's Lilo & Stitch that ultimately emerged as the bigger winner, both at the ticket counters and in capturing audiences' hearts. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the family entertainer brought to life the beloved animated tale in a live-action format and struck a chord with viewers across age groups.
According to Box Office Mojo, the film raked in an impressive $145.5 million domestically over the four-day opening weekend. On the global front, Lilo & Stitch soared to an astounding $341 million, cementing its place as one of the highest-grossing films of the first half of 2025.

The reveal came via a playful Instagram video where Stitch is seen cruising in a pink convertible with a license plate that reads '2 FAST." ‘I wasn't supposed to feel gareeb in India': Dubai vlogger left shocked after Rs 1,000 chai in Mumbai
A Dubai-based Indian travel vlogger has gone viral for something most NRIs can relate to — the shock of returning home and finding India anything but 'cheap.' Parikshit Balochi, a radio presenter and content creator, recently posted a candid Instagram video about how the cost of living back home has left him stunned. His witty yet exasperated rant, especially about a cup of tea that set him back Rs 1,000, has already crossed half a million his video, Balochi confessed that earning in dirhams always gave him the impression that India would be his playground for carefree spending. 'I am an NRI, I was not supposed to feel gareeb (poor) in India,' he said, sounding equal parts amused and frustrated. But instead of feeling wealthy, the inflated bills in Mumbai hotels and cafés have made him rethink the entire NRI privilege. Nothing captured his disbelief better than the price of a humble cup of tea. 'Rs 1,000 is what we used to put on the stock market when I left India. What is happening?' he explained that the unspoken 'deal' NRIs had with India was simple — come home, convert dirhams to rupees, and live like royalty. He said that converting dirhams into rupees was supposed to make him feel richer, not leave him shocked. Instead of showing off his wealth, he now jokes that he might actually need flexible payment plans just to survive the a mix of satire and genuine worry, Balochi ended his rant by pointing out how much money locals must be managing to spend daily. 'Yahan pe logon se puch raha hun, kitna paisa hai bhai tumhare paas,' he said, marvelling at how residents navigate this reality.
