Jadon Sancho decides transfer 'priority' as Man Utd receive new approach
Jadon Sancho is prioritising a move to Napoli after Manchester United received a direct approach from Juventus, according to reports in Italy.
Sancho spent last season on loan at Chelsea but Enzo Maresca's side opted not to take up their £25 million permanent option to sign the winger and have paid a £5m penalty fee to send him back to United.
Earlier this week it was revealed that Napoli have made an approach to sign Sancho and have been given the green light by the 25-year-old, however, the Serie A champions consider United's €25m (£21.3m) transfer fee high.
However, Napoli also face competition from Juventus who have also held talks with United this week over a deal for Sancho.
According to Sky Sport Italy, Sancho's preference would be to join Napoli as Antonio Conte's side made their interest known before other competing sides.

Juventus had held talks to sign Sancho last summer but were unable to reach an agreement with United. More Trending
Sancho still has a year remaining on his contract with United which is worth £300,000 a week, which is another obstacle for both Napoli and Juventus.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund have all but ruled out a return for Sancho after he was linked with a move back to the Bundesliga.
'Of course, contact with Jadon is always there, in some way, because we have a very long history,' Dortmund's sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, told Ruhr Nachrichten last week.
'But that's not an issue for us right now. We have other priorities at the moment, and that's why the Sancho issue may have been more talked about in the media than internally.'

European giants ‘contact Nicolas Jackson's entourage over a potential summer move'... with doubts cast over his future after Chelsea star was given ANOTHER red card against Flamengo
Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is attracting interest from a European giant, according to a report. The 24-year-old has led the line for the Blues over the last past seasons, scoring 30 goals in 80 appearances across all competitions. However, he has drawn crisiticsm from fans and pundits for his lack of effiency in front of goal as well as his poor discipline, having been sent off in Chelsea's 3-1 loss to Flamengo in the Club World Cup. Jackson now faces more competition for a starting spot following the £30million arrival of Liam Delap from Ipswich. However, the Senegal international could head for the exit after being sounded out by Juventus, according to Sky Italia Napoli are also said to be interested in Jackson, but are prioritising moves for Liverpool's Darwin Nunez and Udinese's Lorenzo Lucca. Jackson already suspended domestically following his Premier League dismissal at Newcastle on May 11, lasted only four minutes against Flamengo on Friday. He was shown a straight red card for raking his studs down the shin of Ayrton Lucas — just moments after coming off the bench. The forward took to Instagram after the match to issue a grovelling apology. 'I want to say sorry. To the club, the staff, my teammates, and all the fans watching, I let you down,' he wrote. 'Another red card and honestly, I'm so angry at myself. I work hard every day to help the team not to put us in this kind of situation. 'I still don't fully understand how it happened. But one thing is clear: it wasn't intentional. Just a football moment that went the wrong way. No excuses. I take full responsibility. 'I'll reflect, I'll grow, and I'll come back stronger for the badge and for everyone who believes in me. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.' Meanwhile, Maresca was asked why he dropped Jackson in favour of Delap. The Italian explained: 'Just because they are both very good and we decide game by game who is going to play. But also some new players like Chalobah are playing from the start. I made some changes and hopefully they are good ones. 'They are quite similar (Delap and Jackson). I think Liam also needs a little time to adapt to his team-mates, the way we want to play - the way we want him to play. 'But no doubt that he is going to do well.'

Chelsea take drastic action after Nicolas Jackson red card at Club World Cup
Nicolas Jackson's Chelsea future is in doubt with the Blues open to offers for the forward. The Senegal star is no longer considered untouchable as interest has arrived from Italy. The news emerges in the aftermath of Jackson being sent off in the Club World Cup in Chelsea's defeat to Flamengo. The 24-year-old was given his marching orders for a reckless challenge just four minutes after coming off the bench. Juventus are sounding out a move for the former Villarreal star, who scored 13 goals in 33 games for Chelsea. The Italian giants are in need of a new striker and are said to have seen exploratory talks over a move for the forward, per Gianlucadimarzio. Jackson comes into consideration as Juve wait on Viktor Gyokeres after accepting the Sweden international prefers a move to Arsenal. The Serie A side have been in touch with Gyokeres' representatives. But Juventus could soon find competition in any developing race for Jackson's signature. Napoli are also noted to be considering a move and have been informed of the situation but retain a preference of adding Darwin Nunez or Udinese's Lorenzo Lucca to their squad. Jackson's red comes in just his second appearance since being sent off in the Premier League against Newcastle. The Senegal international is to miss the first game of next season And his position at Chelsea will likely come under increased scrutiny with the west London side having already signed Liam Delap this summer. The ex-Ipswich Town star is set to provide strong competition and could yet lead the Blues' forward line. And one of Jackson's team-mates has called on him to improve his discipline. Marc Cucurella revealed that Jackson had already apologised to the group but would like to see him not make the same mistake again. The Spaniard said: "It is a bit of bad luck. He tried to put his foot in to kick the ball but he kicked the player's leg. That's it. We now miss him for the next game. He is a young player with a lot of quality and maybe he needs to improve this." And Jackson has also apologised to supporters on social media. "I want to say sorry," he said. "To the club, the staff, my teammates, and all the fans watching, I let you down," it read. "Another red card… And honestly, I'm so angry at myself. I work hard every day to help the team not to put us in this kind of situation. "I still don't fully understand how it happened. But one thing is clear: it wasn't intentional. Just a moment in football that went the wrong way." Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. Marcus Rashford 'preparing for Man Utd return' as transfer stalemate continues
Marcus Rashford is ready to return to Manchester United for pre-season training if a transfer away does not materialise in the coming weeks ahead of the club's pre-season tour of the United States. After spending the second half of the 2024-25 campaign out on loan at Aston Villa, Rashford, 27, is free to leave Old Trafford for good this summer and is one of a number of players that the Red Devils are actively attempting to offload during the transfer window. But with nobody currently in serious talks to sign the United academy graduate, Rashford may have to start pre-season at Carrington. As first reported by ESPN, Rashford is said to be 'preparing' for such an eventuality with United due back in for tests and training next month. And despite interest from a host of Europe's elite, such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Juventus, the report adds that United have not received any formal offers for Rashford. Given he is under contract until 2028, there is a possibility that another loan could be sanctioned if nobody is will to pursue a permanent deal for a player who is surplus to requirements under Ruben Amorim. United would, however, prefer to do a permanent deal for Rashford, who is valued at around £40million. The player's preference is to join a club in the Champions League. It was claimed earlier in the summer that Rashford's dream move would be to join Barcelona, who have been linked to the player extensively over the past 12 months. Join the debate! Who do you think Rashford will be playing for next season? Let us know here But with the Spanish giants now advancing in their pursuit of Nico Williams from Athletic Club, such a switch now seems highly unlikely, at least in this transfer window. United are set to embark on an overhaul of a playing squad that fell well below expectations in the Premier League last season and are hoping to make Bryan Mbeumo their second summer signing following the capture of Matheus Cunha from Wolves. Outgoings will be required to give the club more room to manoeuvre in the transfer market and it's hoped that further funds can be generated from the sales of Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho, all of whom have no future at Old Trafford.
