Zendaya was seen on the Southern Italian set of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey for the first time on Tuesday, wearing a Grecian-style bridal gown that has fans speculating about both her role and her upcoming wedding to Tom Holland. The scene was shot on the Aegadian Isle of Favignana, known for its striking caves of calcarenite rock.
The Emmy-winning actress, producer, and star of Challengers was photographed laughing with crew members while wearing a sleeveless off-white gown and a braided updo. She was also spotted consulting with costume designer Ellen Mirojnick, who held fabric matching her dress.

Zendaya is reportedly portraying Athena in Nolan's big-screen adaptation of Homer's epic, though some speculate she could also be playing Calypso or Nausicaä. Her co-star Matt Damon, playing Odysseus, was also seen on set, shirtless on the rocky beach. Tom Holland, Zendaya's fiancé, is also part of the film's cast, playing Telemachus, the son of Odysseus.

The film's production began on February 25 and will span Italy, Greece, Morocco, and the United Kingdom. Universal Pictures has confirmed the film is a 'mythic action epic' and will use cutting-edge IMAX film technology. It's scheduled to release in cinemas on July 17, 2026.
The ensemble cast includes Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Charlize Theron as Circe, and appearances from Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, Elliot Page, and more. With a reported budget of $250 million, The Odyssey is expected to be the most expensive film of Nolan's career.
Outside of The Odyssey, Zendaya is also set to star as Ronnie Spector in Be My Baby, directed by Barry Jenkins for A24, and will return as Rue in season 3 of Euphoria on Max.

Benny Blanco dreaming of kids with Selena Gomez amid health challenges

Music producer Benny Blanco has opened up about his desire to start a family with partner Selena Gomez, even as the couple keeps wedding plans private. In a recent InStyle interview, Blanco said he's 'dreaming and praying' about becoming a father. 'I love kids; I love being an uncle. I want to be a dad, though, God willing,' he shared. Gomez has previously spoken candidly about her challenges with motherhood. In a Vanity Fair interview, she revealed she is unable to carry children due to medical complications stemming from lupus and bipolar disorder. Pregnancy could pose serious risks to her health and the baby's. 'That was something I had to grieve for a while,' she admitted. Still, Gomez remains determined to become a mother, considering adoption and surrogacy as meaningful alternatives. Her own mother was adopted, a fact she's called a 'blessing' in their family. Despite medical challenges, the couple is building a future together—starting with their $35 million Spanish-style estate in Beverly Hills, which Blanco has been filling with 'creativity and heart.' 'I love making a house my own,' he said, emphasizing the importance of comfort and authenticity. Blanco also reflected on his emotional growth, shaped by his upbringing with a single mother. He credits her with helping him understand women's emotional needs. 'A woman will tell you exactly what she needs,' he noted, emphasizing the value of listening and mutual respect. Reflecting on past relationships, he added that learning through trial and error taught him what not to do—and ultimately led him to Gomez.

Eastwood slams 'phony' Austrian daily interview

An Austrian newspaper came under fire Tuesday after Hollywood star Clint Eastwood said an alleged interview with him published by the paper to mark his 95th birthday was "entirely phony". The row was sparked by a purported interview with the Oscar-winning actor and director carried by the German-language Kurier newspaper Friday. In the interview, which was picked up widely by American media over the weekend, Eastwood criticises a lack of fresh ideas in the current film industry as "we live in an era of remakes and franchises". "I long for the good old days when screenwriters wrote films like Casablanca in small bungalows on the studio lot. When everyone had a new idea," he was quoted as saying. "My philosophy is, do something new or stay at home." In a statement to Deadline magazine published Monday, Eastwood said "I thought I would set the record straight". "I can confirm I've turned 95. I can also confirm that I never gave an interview to an Austrian publication called Kurier, or any other writer in recent weeks, and that the interview is entirely phony," he added. On Tuesday, the Vienna-based Kurier's editorial team said its freelancer Elisabeth Sereda had compiled the interview by citing from "a total of 18" round table conversations with Eastwood. But since the article was published as an interview and not as a profile, the daily said it would cut ties with the author. "Even though no quotes have been fabricated, the interviews are documented and the allegations of falsification can be refuted, we will not be working with the author in the future because transparency and our strict editorial standards are paramount to us," Kurier said in a statement published on its website. The newspaper had recently published interviews by Sereda with celebrities such as Jude Law and Elton John. afp

Voices from the Roof of the World

An internationally acclaimed documentary series titled Voices from the Roof of the World, which highlights the human side of the climate crisis and presents it as a source of catastrophic suffering, is being brought to television screens. The production has been sponsored by the Aga Khan University, Aga Khan Agency for Habitat, Aga Khan Foundation, and the University of Central Asia and will be telecast by the Express Media Group. The documentary has been honoured with many international awards, including at the International Nature and Environmental Protection Film Festival held in Hungary, in 2023. The project seeks to highlight the human side of the climate-crisis, presenting it as a source of catastrophic suffering instead of what it has long been misunderstood and presented as an "issue" to be addressed down the road. This series breaks with the conventional depiction of climate change by focusing on its day-to-day reality for ordinary people. The roof for much of the Indian subcontinent and Central Asia are the mountain ranges of the Himalayas and the Hindu Kush. The central message of the documentary series states that roofs provide people with shelter and protect them from harm, adding that in the comfort of their homes they shelter individuals from the wrath of nature — rainfall, extreme heat and extreme cold. It further notes that roofs rely on pillars of support to hold them up, and if the burden on them increases beyond capacity and the pillars are damaged and weakened, the same roof would collapse and kill people. It's a production by an Emmy award winning producer Andrew Tkach.
