She told fans she was hesitant about going public about her diagnosis but that she decided to be "open" for multiple reasons. She said: "One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. "I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. I'm an open book." The Grammy nominee, who also shared her ADHD and OCD diagnoses with fans earlier this year, added that she hoped to show solidarity with other cancer patients. She said: "It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse — that's the bit that kills me." Referring to her latest tracks No Secrets and Living My Best Life, she said "you can't make it up" - explaining she had no idea about her diagnosis at the time of recording. Fans and fellow celebs jumped into the comments to share their support. TV and radio personality Gaby Roslin said: "Sending you so much love and enormous hugs". One fan added: "Love you and your light! This won't dim you down". While another said: "You are not alone. May your recovery be gentle, peaceful, and full of healing. Sending you a tight hug and all the love my heart can carry." 6 Jessie revealed her breast cancer diagnosis last week Credit: instagram/@jessiej 6 The star playfully added that corn on the cobs are helping 'shift her mood' Credit: instagram/@jessiej

Jessie J experiences her 'worst day so far' since cancer diagnosis

Jessie J has revealed she's had her 'worst day so far' since she was diagnosed with 'early breast cancer' a few months ago. The 37-year-old singer is best known for hits including Price Tag, Domino and Bang Bang, as well as appearing on The Voice UK, The Voice Australia and The Voice Kids UK. Jessie, real name Jessica Ellen Cornish, was recently diagnosed with cancer and has now shared an update with her fans about her health. 'Honestly. Had my worst day so far yesterday since my diagnosis and the busiest 3 months I have had in years. 'Work. Toddler. Cancer. Life etc had my mind [low battery emojis],' she shared on Instagram. 'Panic attacks/ tears/ big fears /anger /overwhelm Bad. And you know what helped? 'I ate corn on the cob. Turns out it's extremely hard to panic or cry while eating one. Highly recommend. Instant mood shift,' she said. She then told her followers that she thinks it's important to speak about the harder parts of her cancer journey as she thinks it's 'healthy and needed' to acknowledge her fears. 'IMO. It's key to acknowledge fear anger sadness panic overwhelm and let it come up and come out. Holding it in won't make it go away. In any challenging situation in life. 'So when I posted what I did yesterday about my current challenge in life, also while making light of the situation [corn on the cob emoji]. 'That was one day in 10 weeks that I just lost it and was completely drowned in all the negative and bad feelings any cancer journey can bring. Which is healthy and needed. IMO.' Jessie explained: 'I say this because I had a lot of people since I posted that say to me things like 'Don't think about the negative' and 'Good thoughts only' and don't get me wrong, I know all are meant with intention and love. 'But it's sparked me thinking about how interesting it is in what we individually see as being strong is. I have always advocated for being real. Honest in your feelings. We can not heal what we don't acknowledge etc. Just don't unpack your suitcase and live in it. Or let it define you. 'So I will be scared, I will panic, I will feel all of it. For a minute or even a full day.' If you or someone you care about has been diagnosed with cancer, Macmillan can offer support and information. You can contact their helpline on 0808 808 00 00 (7 days a week from 8am to 8pm), use their webchat service, or visit their site for more information. Announcing the news of her diagnosis on Instagram, Jessie explained she received the health news just before the release of her song No Secrets in April. 'Before No Secrets came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,' she explained. 'I'm highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding on to the word early.' Just last week, the singer revealed her hidden pain after having five biopsies and then performed on stage straight after. She shared a video of herself performing at Ronnie Scott's and revealed in the caption: 'I had 5 breast biopsies the night before this show. More Trending 'I was in some discomfort but so hyped to do it, and I didn't want to cancel. The more I watch this show back, I can see my brain working in complete overdrive trying not to blurt it all out = 😂🧟‍♀️🥴' In the video, she made a comment about her breasts, which were clearly on her mind at the time. 'Being truthful in who you are, not your mates or your family or everyone else, but like what you love and who you are. What makes you special. That's all I wanna focus on.' She then referenced her boobs as she said: 'And my huge, perfect t**s. You know what I mean?' Got a story?
