Young Tamil star
Dhruv Vikram
is reportedly in talks to step into the lead role for the Tamil adaptation of Kill, the gritty action thriller that made waves in Bollywood last year. The Hindi original, which starred Raghav Juyal, Tanya Maniktala, and Lakshya in the lead and was backed by Karan Johar, turned heads for its unflinching violence and high-octane sequences.
Dhruv is being seriously considered for the Tamil version as reported by 123telugu website, though an official announcement is yet to be made. If confirmed, this would mark a significant shift in the actor's career — firmly placing him in the action genre after establishing his emotional depth in earlier roles.
Dhruv Vikram tells students in Coimbatore the challenges he faced for Adithya Varma
Dhruv's career evolution
Ever since his debut in 'Adithya Varma', the Tamil remake of 'Arjun Reddy', Dhruv has shown an interest for intense, emotionally-driven characters.
His performance alongside his father, Vikram, in 'Mahaan' was widely appreciated and gave fans a glimpse of his range.
If he does come on board for Kill, it's likely to be another bold choice — and one that could firmly establish him as a credible action hero in Tamil cinema.
The challenge of remaking 'Kill'
The original 'Kill' was not your run-of-the-mill action flick. Translating that energy for a Tamil audience will be no small task.

But with the right team — and an actor willing to go the distance — the remake could strike gold. Dhruv, if he signs on, would be stepping into a role that demands not just physical stamina, but emotional depth and restraint.
About 'Kill'
Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, 'Kill' is surely one of the best action flicks ever made in India. ETimes review for the movie read, "Director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat goes all out in a bid to do justice to the genre.
There's not a single dull moment even when things get repetitive. The director uses violence as a language and glorification of violence is evident, but action thrillers thrive on that so that's not the issue. A gore fest for action lovers, you might even find beauty in the bloodshed if that's your thing.
Despite witnessing blood spattering, swinging hammers breaking open people's heads and more, the scene that shocks you the most is a romantic one."
For fans of the genre, and of Dhruv's evolving filmography, this could be a project worth keeping an eye on.

Neeru Bajwa Calls THIS Bollywood Star A Dream Co-Actor To Work With - Guess Who!

Mumbai: Actress Neeru Bajwa, who predominantly works in Punjabi cinema, has made a return to Hindi cinema with the recently released 'Son Of Sardaar 2' and is set to follow it up with another Hindi release 'Tehran'. The actress is all praise for her 'Tehran' co-star John Abraham. While in 'Son of Sardaar 2', she essays the role of Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn's wife, in 'Tehran' she shares the screen with John and Manushi Chhillar. Talking about the film, Neeru said, 'It is quite an amazing phase for me, getting to work in back-to-back Hindi releases. While 'Son Of Sardaar 2' is a comedy, Tehran will see me play an intense role and it is a poignant story that needs to be told. I feel really proud of my association with the film'. The intensity and authenticity that he brings to his portrayal is commendable. Having a good co-star helps you perform better too and that happened with me on 'Tehran' with John. I hope the audience likes us together on screen as it is a very special film'. For her, 'Tehran' is unlike anything she has done before, it's a gripping narrative that's as emotionally charged as it is politically complex. She went on, 'What drew me to this story was the strength and clarity of my character. She's someone who holds her ground and chooses integrity, even when the world around her is falling apart. It's a proud moment for me to represent a woman who is morally grounded and unafraid to stand up for what she believes in, in a story as intense and far-reaching as this'. ''Tehran' is a story that doesn't just entertain, it provokes thought, and I'm proud to be part of a film that's bold, timely, and unapologetically real', she added. The film is set to stream on ZEE5 on August 15, 2025.

Priyanka Chopra's biggest Hollywood film Heads of State beaten by a movie with 0% Rotten Tomatoes score

Is War of the Worlds, the reboot of the sci-fi movie released on Prime Video, one of the worst film ever? The latest rating of the film on Rotten Tomatoes might be hinting at the same. The film has received a shocking 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It also holds a scanty rating of 3.2 out of 10 on IMDb. War of the Worlds' 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes is based on the 12 reviews posted on the website. While War of the Worlds has been panned by critics, the film has surprisingly overtaken Priyanka Chopra Jonas' latest film Heads of State and become the top-performing film on Prime Video on August 4. The website FlixPatrol recently released the list of the top 10 most-streamed movies on the streaming giant, and War of the Worlds topped the list, with Heads of State securing the second position. Hindi film Housefull 5 stood 6th on the list, while The Accountant 2, Flight Risk, and A Working Man stood in 3rd, 4th, and 5th positions, respectively. Dhanush's Kuberaa landed at the 10th position. Priyanka stars in Heads of State along with Idris Elba and John Cena. Directed by Ilya Naishuller, the film has 71% of 103 critics' reviews as positive. The film's IMDb rating stands at 6.4 out of 10. Heads of State is Priyanka's biggest Hollywood project so far. She had earlier starred in the Russo Brothers' Citadel, but the web show was widely panned by critics. She has also appeared in Hollywood projects like Love Again, The Matrix Resurrections, We Can Be Heroes, and Isn't It Romantic, but none of them gave her as much screen time as she had in Heads of State. Priyanka began her Hollywood career by playing the lead in the TV show Quantico in 2015. Coming to War of the Worlds, the film is adapted from the 1898 novel by HG Wells. The film stars Ice Cube in the lead role of Will Radford, a government analyst whose life takes a turn after aliens invade Earth. The film also stars Eva Longoria, Clark Gregg, Andrea Savage, Henry Hunter Hall, Iman Benson, Devon Bostick, and Michael O'Neill in key roles. It was released on Prime Video on July 30.

Eros Defends Raanjhanaa's AI Ending as 'Lawful Creative Reinterpretation': ‘It Does Not Replace…'

Eros objected to Aanand L Rai and his production house positioning the upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein as part of the 'world of Raanjhanaa'. Aanand L Rai's 2013 film Raanjhanaa, starring Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor, was recently re-released in cinemas with a modified AI ending. The film's 'happy' ending, also re-released in Tamil as Ambikapathy, drew criticism from both Aanand and Dhanush, who were vocal about the alteration of their original vision. Eros International Media Limited issued a statement addressing the public criticism regarding the AI-modified ending of Raanjhanaa. They also addressed concerns about the 'appropriation' in Aanand and Dhanush's upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein. Eros defended the AI-altered ending as a 'lawful and creative reinterpretation, not a replacement'. They clarified that the original Raanjhanaa remains untouched and available across all platforms, and this version is part of a long-standing tradition in cinema involving alternate edits, localized adaptations, and anniversary re-releases. 'The re-release of Ambikapathy with an alternate AI-assisted ending is a legally compliant, transparently labeled, and artistically guided creative edition intended for Tamil-speaking audiences. It does not replace or alter the original Raanjhanaa, which remains untouched and widely available across all platforms. This version is part of a global and longstanding tradition in cinema of offering alternate edits, localized adaptations, and anniversary re-releases," read the statement. Responding to Dhanush's claim that Aanand L Rai had financially contributed to secure his role in Raanjhanaa, Eros refuted the statement, calling it factually incorrect and legally irrelevant. They claimed that Rai had no financial investment in the production, financing, or intellectual property structures of Raanjhanaa, as Eros took on the full financial risk and holds complete ownership of the film's equity and IP. Eros also raised an objection to Aanand L Rai and his production house, Colour Yellow Productions, marketing the upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein as part of the 'world of Raanjhanaa'. They described this attempt as illegal and misleading. 'Eros strongly objects to the illegal and misleading attempt by Mr. Aanand L. Rai and Colour Yellow Productions to position the upcoming film Tere Ishq Mein as part of the 'world of Raanjhanaa', despite having no legal rights, approvals, or IP ownership to do so," read the statement. Eros also issued a formal Cease & Desist notice on July 25, 2025, demanding that all parties immediately stop unauthorized references, marketing, and creative use of any derivative elements of Raanjhanaa. 'Eros has formally issued a Cease & Desist notice dated July 25, 2025, demanding that all parties immediately cease unauthorised references, marketing, and creative use of any derivative elements of Raanjhanaa. The same has also been caveated to all leading OTT & Streaming Services to prevent any continued misrepresentation, as this act represents a clear violation of Eros's exclusive copyright and intellectual property," they stated.
