ESPN's Dan Orlovsky doesn't think Rams should take a QB in 2025 NFL Draft
The Los Angeles Rams have been named a potential quarterback-needy team throughout the 2025 offseason. Even after the team retained Matthew Stafford, insiders claimed the Rams could take a quarterback early in the 2025 NFL Draft to secure their future in a post-Stafford world.
Since then, players like Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe and even Shedeur Sanders have been connected to the Rams with the No. 26 pick. But former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky doesn't think taking a quarterback that early is a good idea for the Rams.
"You are the team that went on the road and pushed the super Bowl champions further tan anybody else," Orlovsky said. "You have all the roster makings of a team that is second, third-best when it comes to the NFC. ... I understand the premise of getting it when you want it rather than when you need it at the quarterback spot. But this is a legit Super Bowl contender. And legit Super Bowl contenders don't, in the first round, take quarterbacks.'
Instead, Orlovsky suggested the Rams go for dynamic playmakers like Georgia safety Malaki Starks or LSU tight end Mason Taylor. In his mind, it doesn't make sense to waste a premium on a player for the future when there are needs that need to be met for a Super Bowl this year.
Orlovsky finished his NFL career in L.A., but was only with the Rams for two months before he was released and retired from the league in 2017.
General manager Les Snead has already admitted to wanting to add a young quarterback and said was "open" to drafting one, while Stafford himself even would welcome a rookie quarterback "with open arms" and help him develop to be his successor.
No one knows the Rams' true draft plans except for the Rams themselves. And we'll find out soon enough what they do with the No. 26 pick.

Trade Idea Moves Dolphins' Tyreek Hill to Cardinals
Trade Idea Moves Dolphins' Tyreek Hill to Cardinals originally appeared on Athlon Sports. In the immediate aftermath of the Miami Dolphins' final regular season game of 2024, which resulted in the Florida-based franchise missing the playoffs, wide receiver Tyreek Hill made his stance on returning to the team as clear as can be. Advertisement "I'm out, bro," Hill told reporters in the locker room after the game. A move out of Miami has yet to materialize for Hill, who has not made any public statements about wanting to leave since January and attended the Dolphins' mandatory minicamp this week. Bleacher Report's Alex Kay believes that will not be the case by September, as he suggests the Dolphins' front office should field calls with that of the Arizona Cardinals. Kay predicts the Dolphins' return package will include two draft picks – a third- and fourth-rounder in 2026. The financial ramifications of the deal should be incentive enough for Miami to move Hill, Kay wrote. Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill (10) practices during mandatory minicamp at Hard Rock Navarro-Imagn Images "Hill's contract calls for him to earn $27.7 million in guaranteed salary this season, but cutting or trading him would result in a manageable dead money hit of just $12.8 million. It would also free up nearly $15 million in immediate cap room," Kay wrote. "With the 'Phins sitting on just $14 million in available cap space — the sixth-lowest in the league — a breakup makes plenty of fiscal sense." Advertisement Kay likes the Cardinals as an ideal trade destination for Hill because it would provide them with a one-two punch at a position the team has not pursued aggressively in the draft or trade market so far this offseason. "The team is on the rise under head coach Jonathan Gannon, going from 4-13 in his first season to 8-9 last year. The receiving corps still needs a jolt, however, as Arizona avoided making any major splashes in free agency or the draft at the position," Kay wrote. "While the Cardinals have a foundational pass-catcher in Marvin Harrison Jr. to build around for the long haul, adding Hill would give quarterback Kyler Murray the weapons he needs to contend in wide-open NFC West races this coming year and over the next few seasons." Hill, who was named to the NFL's 2010s All-Decade Team, has put together a laundry list of accomplishments since his rookie season in 2016. He is a Super Bowl champion, a five-time First-Team All-Pro, and an eight-time Pro Bowler. Cody Brundage not intimidated by unbeaten Mansur Abdul-Malik\u00a0at UFC Atlanta
Cody Brundage not intimidated by unbeaten Mansur Abdul-Malik at UFC Atlanta Show Caption Hide Caption Cody Brundage UFC Atlanta Media Day Cody Brundage speaks to the media at Wednesday's media day for UFC Atlanta. ATLANTA – Cody Brundage met the media Wednesday ahead of his fight at UFC on ESPN 69. Brundage (11-6 MMA, 5-5 UFC) takes on the unbeaten Mansur Abdul-Malik (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in a middleweight fight on the ESPN main card at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. At media day, Brundage took questions from media members before his fight. Brundage is the second biggest underdog on the card. If he beats Abdul-Malik, who is as much as a 9-1 betting favorite, it will be one of the biggest upsets in UFC history – literally. But the 31-year-old, who has won three of his past four fights, all by first-round knockout, said the odds don't concern him. "I'm definitely the most experienced guy he's ever fought – I have more fights in the UFC than he has in his entire career," Brundage told MMA Junkie. "Experience goes a long way. Yeah, he's tough. The tougher the guys I fight, I think it pulls my skills out. The better the guy I'm fighting, all the pressure, it pulls something out of me that makes me be great. I'm just excited for it. "… He's got a ton of momentum right now, and if you put him in the fire and make him face a little bit of a adversity, he hasn't really been there. He doesn't know how to respond to that, and that's my job Saturday." Check out Brundage's full media day interview in the video above.

Marlins secure multiyear deal to again host Caribbean Series, AP source says
MIAMI (AP) — The Caribbean Series will return to the Miami Marlins' loanDepot park after the team reached a multiyear agreement with the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press. The deal will allow the Marlins, who hosted the Caribbean Series in 2024, to host three more editions of the winter league champions tournament beginning in 2028, the person said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the team has not made a formal announcement. ESPN first reported the news. The Marlins had already secured the 2028 edition of the tournament after bringing record numbers to Miami in 2024 — the first time the Caribbean Series was held at a major league ballpark. The future years are not yet set. A crowd of 36,677 watched Venezuela beat the Dominican Republic in the championship at loanDepot park — the largest crowd ever for a Caribbean Series game and a higher attendance than the 2023 World Baseball Classic championship game (36,098) between the United States and Shohei Ohtani's Japan club held at the same venue. Before returning to Miami, the Caribbean Series will be held in Caracas, Venezuela, in 2026 and Hermosillo, Mexico, in 2027. ___ AP MLB:
