Did you know Lee Byung-Hun's ‘Front Man' avoided his trend of dying in the shows for THIS reason?
One of the main villains, Lee Byung-hun, was first presented in Squid Game season 1. The opening season of the Netflix Korean show barely revealed anything about his history but hinted at how he ended up becoming the Front Man.
Season 2 of Squid Game progressively untangled the web of his mysterious past to reveal that he was also a player in the main games at one point. He ended up losing faith in humanity as a result of the games' events, which led him to play a crucial role in enabling a system that had previously taken advantage of him.
Owing to the developments in the Front Man's story in Squid Game's seasons 1 and 2, it was hard not to believe that he would meet the same fate as many of Lee Byung-hun's other characters. However, surprisingly, Squid Gameseason 3 broke one major trend in the actor's career by ending the Front Man's story in an unpredictable way.
Lee Byung-hun has portrayed a wide range of characters in television series and films. Surprisingly, despite the fact that most of the characters he plays are very distinct from one another, they all end up dying.

The actor's characters have died in the most bizarre and frequently terrible ways in nearly ten films.
Even when the actor appeared in Hollywood movies, like The Magnificent Seven, Terminator Genesis, and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, his characters still often met with grim or sacrificial ends. On television, Lee Byung-hun's Hyun-Jun Kim died in IRIS after being shot in the head. Similarly, his character, Eugene Choi, met with a similar fate in Mr.
Sunshine.
Based on this death trend alone, the viewers, who are familiar with his extensive line of work, could not help but expect that he would die in Squid Games 3 as well. The show, however, astonished many by not only keeping him alive but also giving him a semblance of redemption near the conclusion.
Many viewers could not help but theorize that the Front Man would eventually die in Squid Game. It was believed that either Gi-hun or Jun-ho would kill him to ensure the games ended for good.
The Front Man brutally murdered Gi-hun's friend, Jung-bae, in Squid Game season 2's ending moments. This led many viewers to believe that Gi-hun would be out for blood in season 3 and would take revenge because the front man deceived him in season 2.
The Front Man spared his brother, Jun-ho, in season 1 by making sure he received medical care after shooting him, even though he had little humanity left in him. There was a lot of speculation that Jun-ho wouldn't be as forgiving to his brother.
As a police officer, his great sense of justice would drive him to kill rather than spare his brother. Unexpectedly, despite having the chance, Jun-ho also chooses not to murder In-ho, ending Lee Byung-hun's fatality streak.
The Front Man watches Gi-hun die from a distance in Squid Game season 3's ending. After watching Gi-hun sacrifice his life for the baby, the Front Man seemingly finds some of his lost humanity. Owing to this, he sends Jun-hee's baby to his brother, believing that he would do a better job at raising the child.
He also heads to the United States and gives Gi-hun's daughter access to his winning prize from the games. Although the conclusion of the Front Man's story in Squid Game season 3 is a little unclear, it confirms his survival and suggests that he might choose to pursue redemption rather than play the games again.
The Front Man receives a bittersweet ending, much like the majority of Lee Byung-hun's characters who pass away around the end of their stories. However, because he at least survives and regains some of his lost morals, his ending arc seems more sweet than bitter.

Nushrratt Bharuccha recalls sexist treatment on sets, reveals male actors got better vanity and washrooms than women: 'I didn't complain at that time...'
Nushrratt Bharuccha speaks about sexism in Bollywood. She faced unequal treatment on film sets. Male stars had better facilities. She was dropped by her agency after a hit film. She had no work for two years. She recalls flying economy while others flew business. She aims for equality. She wants better opportunities for women in the industry. Nushrratt Bharuccha is calling out the casual sexism that still exists in Bollywood. In a candid chat, the actor opened up about facing unequal treatment on film sets—where male stars were given better vanities and washrooms—and shared how even after delivering a blockbuster, she was dropped by her agency and left without work for nearly two years. In conversation with Nayandeep Rakshit on his YouTube channel, the actress spoke about the stark gender disparity in opportunities post-success. She pointed out that male actors—whether insiders or outsiders—tend to receive multiple offers right after delivering a hit. In contrast, women often continue to struggle even after proving their box office worth. Reflecting on her own journey since Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011), Nushrratt emphasised that all any actor wants after a hit is a few strong opportunities to choose from—but for female actors, those opportunities are far fewer than for their male counterparts. She also highlighted the inequality in on-set facilities, pointing out that male actors are often given bigger and better vanity vans. She recalled instances where she had to request access to a male co-star's vanity van just to use a cleaner washroom, especially when he wasn't around. Rather than complaining, she said she used those moments as motivation—promising herself that one day, she would reach a level where such basic comforts would be hers by default. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Reflecting on her early career struggles, Bharuccha shared an incident that underscored the subtle hierarchy on film sets. She recalled flying economy class for a project where most of the main cast flew business class. Despite being offered a seat by friends in the business section, she declined—choosing instead to stay where she was assigned. For her, it wasn't just about comfort, but about principle. She resolved to reach a point in her career where production houses would book her business class tickets by default—and eventually, she did just that. Nushrratt further revealed that despite delivering the biggest hit of her career, she didn't get work for two years. She shared that her management agency dropped her soon after the film's success, leaving her without support during a crucial phase. She recalled being dropped by her management agency right after one of her films became a blockbuster. She shared that despite the film's success, her manager called her for a casual coffee meeting only to inform her that they could no longer manage her. Though she tried to stay composed, she broke down in tears as they listed out reasons, struggling to understand what more she needed to do after a major hit. The actress further shared that after being dropped by her agency, she sat alone at the café, crying into her coffee—despite having just delivered the biggest hit of her career. She had no work or team for nearly two years. Since the film was a success, people assumed she was simply being selective with her roles, unaware that she was actually struggling in silence, without any support system. Nushrratt was last seen in Chhorii 2 on Amazon Prime Video. She has also featured in several hit films, including Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Dream Girl, and Pyaar Ka Punchnama, among others.
