B is for Brickyard and C is for cookie: Cookie Monster will be grand marshal of NASCAR race
Cookie Monster from "Sesame Street" will instruct drivers to report to their cars for Sunday's NASCAR Cup race.
Cup driver Bubba Wallace is part of Cookie Monster's summer road trip, though the ride might get a little cramped. Cookie asks Wallace if there's room in his car for a fairy, a few chickens, a Big Bird, and a Snuffleupagus.
Also, Cookie warns there will be stops at every bakery along the way.
The "Sesame Street" road trip will also hit state fairs and baseball parks nationwide throughout the summer.
The Indiana Fever start debuted her Nike Kobe 6 Protro shoes last week, using Cookie's color and texture as inspiration.
The Indiana Pacers star walked up for his appearance in the 2024 NBA All-Star Game dressed — in part — like Cookie Monster.

Caitlin Clark's Response To Sophie Cunningham's Swimsuit Photo Is Going Viral
Caitlin Clark's Response To Sophie Cunningham's Swimsuit Photo Is Going Viral originally appeared on The Spun. Before the Indiana Fever suffered a 100-91 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday night, Caitlin Clark's teammates decided to soak up the sun. Leading up to the Fever-Sparks game, Fever guard Sophie Cunningham shared a video of her and Lexie Hull tanning by a pool. Her TikTok post included this caption: "We are off to our game tonight. Convince us there's a swimsuit brand that wants to partner with two Indiana Fever mermaids." Cunningham and Hull combined for 8 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds during Tuesday's loss. That's not the type of production Indiana expects from these sharpshooting guards, that's for sure. Although she replied before the Fever fell short to the Sparks on Tuesday, Clark called out her teammates for tanning prior to tipoff. "Swimsuit brands plz comment 'focus on basketball,'" Clark wrote in response to Cunningham's TikTok post. This comment from Clark received over 19,700 likes in less than 24 hours. Cunningham didn't just go viral Tuesday night because of her TikTok post. She was nearly struck by a sex toy at Arena. This happened as she was standing by the free throw line. "I was thinking about like, if someone threw that thing and like, first of all, the bounce that that thing had, if that smacks someone in the face, you know that's gonna be plastered everywhere," Cunningham previously said on her podcast. Last week, the WNBA called out its fans for throwing objects onto the court. Another comment may have to be released after the Fever-Sparks incident. "The safety and well-being of everyone in our arenas is a top priority for our league," the WNBA said in a statement. "Objects of any kind thrown onto the court or in the seating area can pose a safety risk for players, game officials, and fans. In line with WNBA Arena Security Standards, any fan who intentionally throws an object onto the court will be immediately ejected and face a minimum one-year ban in addition to being subject to arrest and prosecution by local authorities." Cunningham and the Fever will be back in action Thursday night against the Phoenix Mercury. NASCAR's Daniel Suarez Has One Way to go After Trackhouse Split
Following the announcement by Trackhouse Racing that it was parting ways with NASCAR Cup Series driver Daniel Suarez after the 2025 season, The Athletic's reporter Jordan Bianchi has revealed the most viable option left for the Mexican driver in 2026. The number of full-time seats in the Cup Series campaign is nearly full next year, leaving no room for Suarez. Bianchi admits that it would be risky for Suarez to enter free agency next year. Instead, it would make more sense if he raced in the Xfinity Series for a year and returned to the Cup Series in 2027. He wrote: "Unfortunately for Suarez, he's entering free agency at a time when not a lot of viable options exist. Nearly all 36 full-time seats are already taken for next season. This is why many within the industry thought Suárez's best opportunity to reset his career was to take a ride in NASCAR's second-tier Xfinity Series, likely with Kaulig Racing or JR Motorsports, then re-enter free agency a year from now in what is anticipated to be a much more robust market." Suarez, however, is inclined to remain in the Cup Series and likely sees a potential opportunity opening up in the future. While Spire Motorsports could be one option, according to Bianchi, it remains to be seen if it would be willing to hire Suarez in place of Justin Haley. Daniel Suarez, driver of the #99 Choice Privileges Chevrolet, looks on in his car during qualifying for the NASCAR Cup Series Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol at Iowa Speedway on August 02, 2025 in Newton, Iowa. MoreSuarez joined Trackhouse in 2021 and has since won two Cup Series races. Being friends with the Trackhouse team owner, Justin Marks, the two mutually decided it was time to close this chapter. Fortunately for Suarez, Marks revealed that he would help him find the next opportunity in NASCAR. Opening up about going their separate ways, Marks said: "Look, Daniel's been a huge part of this company for four and a half years now and when we sat down and mapped out our three-year and our five-year plan and the sponsorships and everything that we're trying to accomplish over the next five years of the company, we just got to a point where we felt like that relationship had beared a lot of fruit for us, but it just was time to move on. "So, as we grow and as the team grows, obviously, we have to identify different opportunities. Look, Daniel has been a huge part of this company and a great friend of mine. We met last night, me and him in the hotel for an hour down in the lobby and we talked about our time together, everything that we've accomplished together and him and I are in a really good place. "It's just this isn't a sport where you do the same thing forever and as we grow, we just felt like it was time to wrap up that relationship and work to try to help him to find the next opportunity, but continue to grow as a company [is] what we're trying to accomplish."

NASCAR Announces Relief For Austin Hill After Iowa Race Suspension
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. NASCAR has some relief for Xfinity Series driver Austin Hill following the race penalty suspension he served at Iowa last weekend for taking out Aric Almirola at Indianapolis. That meant he was out of the playoffs, since they require drivers to participate in all races. However, Hill has been pardoned by the sport, which makes him eligible for the playoffs. Hill was involved in a big controversy during the Xfinity race at Indianapolis, where he deliberately rear-right hooked Almirola in an act of retaliation. He was handed a five-lap penalty during the race. However, NASCAR handed him a one-race suspension later in the week, which kept him out of the race at Iowa. Hill had 21 playoff points. However, given the race suspension, he has lost all his points. Although the sport's waiver means he is eligible for the playoffs, he will not get back the points he collected through the season. Additionally, the playoff points that Hill scores up to the finale in September will not be counted. Austin Hill, driver of the #21 Bennett Transportation Chevrolet, looks on during qualifying for the NASCAR Xfinity Series Pennzoil 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 26, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Austin Hill, driver of the #21 Bennett Transportation Chevrolet, looks on during qualifying for the NASCAR Xfinity Series Pennzoil 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 26, 2025 in Indianapolis, team, Richard Childress Racing, released a statement after he was handed the suspension, confirming that it will not appeal the penalty. The statement read: "Richard Childress Racing will not appeal the penalty NASCAR issued to the No. 21 team following the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We remain focused on winning a championship with Austin Hill in 2025. Austin Dillon will race the No. 21 Chevrolet at Iowa Speedway." The Athletic's Jordan Bianchi said that while the suspension has a serious impact on Hill's championship prospects, the penalty was much deserved. He said in a Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Dirty Mo Media video: "It's gonna be tough for Austin Hill in the playoffs, a championship favorite. He's got three wins this year [and] he's currently ranked fifth in points. Now, he'll get a waiver to make the playoffs and that's fine, but his road to the Championship 4 is much harder now than it would have been before Saturday's incident. "... This was a justified penalty. NASCAR got this one right. The caveat, of course, is the playoff points. NASCAR added that rule this year, and so that's really going to hit Austin Hill in the playoffs. You work all year during the regular season to get to bonus points that help you through each round. As we've seen many times, those can be the big difference between advancing and being eliminated. Austin Hill is not going to have those to fall back on. This has championship implications but again, when you look at what happened, this was a deserved penalty for Austin Hill."
