The singer has given her fans a heads-up on her likely demeanor should they bump into her in any public space following her surgery amid her breast cancer diagnosis.
Jessie J was diagnosed with breast cancer in April but disclosed it to her fans in June and has stayed completely transparent about the whole process of her treatment, surgery, and ongoing recovery.
The "Nobody's Perfect" singer showed up on Instagram bearing reports about the current state of her health 12 days after her mastectomy. Jessie admitted that she misses being a mom to her son, who is currently on a mini vacation with his grandparents.
She acknowledged that she still feels pain from the procedure, but she is gradually getting her life back via exercises and living a healthy lifestyle. She has also pulled the brakes on the pain medications to avoid overdoing this.
The singer followed up with another post, issuing a note of warning to her fans that, should they encounter her in public, things may seem out of place due to her current situation.
According to The Daily Mail, Jessie J added: "It's not personal. I don't have what l usually have to give energy-wise, understandably. I will get there. It's a slow road. For now, I am taking it easy. Enjoying the slow vibes and staying positive."
Jessie's life update last week got her in a bit of a tight spot when fans misconstrued her statement for a recovery announcement. As reported by The Blast, the singer responded to the circulating reports, clarifying that her cancer was not all gone.
Instead, Jessie emphasized that she only implied a positive ending to her story with cancer with the tone of her post. She stated that no official report had been provided regarding her surgery.
Jessie took responsibility for sending mixed messages with her post, writing: "I added the [fingers-crossed emoji] in thinking people would understand, and clearly a lot didn't. A weird situation. My fault for not being clearer."
The singer explained that she just got out of surgery a few nights before the time of her post, and treating cancer is no child's play. Most importantly, the star informed fans that getting a clear verdict on the state of her health post-surgery would not happen after a few days.
The former singing show coach's journey in the weeks leading up to her surgery was not a walk in the park. She had to cross many hurdles to help her prepare physically and mentally for the process.
Jessie was drained from processing all her concerns about her health alongside raising her children and balancing her life and career.
The burden of her hectic schedule and daunting reality left her with panic, tears, and fiery rage, which left her in a terrible mood. Jessie eventually found a genius way to soothe her hiccups, and corn cobs provided the succor.
The singer revealed that she discovered it was nearly impossible to "panic or cry while eating one." Jessie described the experience as an instant mood shift and recommended it to her fans.
On June 15, Jessie gave her final performance before going into the theatre for a life-saving surgery. The singer sang her out at the Capital's Summertime Ball with Barclaycard at Wembley Stadium.
PEOPLE reported that she shared how special the moment feels to her, noting that she is grateful for her life, her career, her son, and her wonderful parents. Jessie declared, "My family, my band, my crew. We are so lucky, we have so much to live for, so much joy, so much, so many things to do."
She then walked her fans through her post-show ritual on her Instagram Story, which involves going to dinner with friends, settling in for a cool shower indoors, and applying a thick layer of skincare to her face.
"Now I'm sitting in Skys' room just staring at him. Having a needed a well earned cry. Happy and scared tears. This boy. My whole heart. What a special day today was," Jessie added.
On June 3, the star opened up to her 14 million followers about the latest update on her health. Jessie admitted to being an open book with everyone around her, which explains why she chose to come clean to her fans about the illness.
"Before 'No Secrets' came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer," Jessie began. She explained to her fans that she has been in and out of the hospital for several tests to know every detail about her illness.
She concluded her post, informing her fans that she would be going in for surgery to tackle the cancer since it is still in its early stage and to forestall further spread.
