KUALA LUMPUR, July 28 — Get ready for a night of spiritual healing as legendary Nasyid group Rabbani will be holding a mega concert really soon.
Set to take place this September 20 at the Idea Live Arena in Petaling Jaya, the Konsert Intifada Rabbani will also mark the group's 28th anniversary since their inception back in March 1997.
Rabbani initially consisted of eight members including the late Mohd Asri Ibrahim, Azadan Abdul Aziz, Asri Ubaidullah, Zulkiflee Azman, Luqman Abdul Aziz, Muhammad Rithauddeen, Mohamad Afandi Shahbudin and Ahmad Shafie.
However, since the passing of lead vocalist Mohd Asri Ibrahim back in 2009, the group has been performing with the remaining seven members.
Aside from Rabbani themselves, the two-hour concert will also feature three more local Nasyid groups including Brothers, Yabang as well as Aeydan who will be joining in as guest performers.
As previously reported by Sinar Harian, Aeydan actually consists of the sons of Rabbani members including its main vocalist Muhammad Ilham Fikri who is the fourth child of the late Mohd Asri.
Meanwhile Brothers is another popular 90's Nasyid group whose members includes Syah Rizal Mohamed, Abdullah Faiz Mohamad, the late Mohd Salleh Mohamed Deril as well as convicted singer Yasin Sulaiman.

Since their formation, Rabbani has become a local phenomenon especially during the late 90s where they are famously known for blending traditional Malay music with middle eastern sounds and Islamic messages through their songs.
Fans can also expect to sing-along to some of their timeless hits such as Intifada, Pergi Tak Kembali and Satu Qiblat Yang Sama.
The Konsert Intifada Rabbani is organised by Universe Gateway, the team behind The Journey of Sound by Judika and Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza concert last December 14.
Tickets for the Rabbani concert will go on sale starting this July 31 (Thursday) via ticket2u.com or www.fantopia.io with ticketing price ranging between RM150 to RM258.
Aside from Rabbani, another popular Nasyid group InTeam will also be serenading fans at the Idea Live Arena this September 28.
It was previously reported that the InTeam's Kasih Kekasih 25 Tahun concert had sold out within an hour which prompted the organiser to change their venue from Zepp KL to a much larger one to cater to the demand.

THE nation's largest all-Japan event, 'Japan Expo Malaysia 2025' (JEMY 2025), held on July 18-20 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), drew more than 20,000 visitors. Officiated by the Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia Noriyuki Shikata, the event, now in its sixth year, 'reaffirmed its role as a dynamic platform for Malaysia-Japan economic and cultural exchange, spanning trade, tourism, education and the creative industries'. Shikata said this year's expo once again demonstrated the strength of the countries' bilateral ties, while providing a unique blend of cultural and commercial experience for visitors from all walks of life. 'From business to tradition, the event truly captured the spirit of Japan-Malaysia collaboration,' he said during the his opening address at the event. The grand opening ceremony on 18 July was marked by a vibrant showcase, setting the tone for an immersive weekend. The audience was treated to high-energy performances by comedy trio 'wannabees', a mesmerising face-changing act by Enishi and the captivating rhythms of the Awa Odori dance troupe from Japan's Tokushima Prefecture. A major highlight of the ceremony was the inaugural Japan Expo Malaysia Awards, which honoured individuals and organisations for their impactful contributions to strengthening Japan-Malaysia relations. Among the recipients were Kyoto Protocol and Rine-Hime in the Entertainment category, Melinda Looi for Fashion and Ying Tze as Cosplayer of the Year, along with many others. Throughout the weekend, visitors were immersed in an exciting line-up of cultural and culinary experiences. Spanning two dedicated zones – Exhibition and Entertainment Zone, JEMY 2025 featured a diverse mix of experiences. In the Exhibition Zone, Chef Nao Kawasaki's dramatic Tuna Cutting Show drew a packed audience, offering a rare and captivating glimpse into the artistry of traditional Japanese seafood and sushi preparation. Opera vocalist Saori Suzuki delivered a powerful live performance, blending classical training with contemporary expression. Meanwhile, acclaimed illustrator Mitsume Takahashi mesmerised art lovers with a series of Digital Live Painting sessions, showcasing his distinctive style in real time. Other popular attractions included Sushi Moments, where top local chefs presented exquisite culinary creations, the Omakase Talk and Presentation and an engaging Sake Workshop, alongside interactive booths and hands-on workshops. From traditional Awa Odori performances, Kendo demonstrations to cosplay pop, the line-up celebrated the dynamic synergy between the two cultures. The event also introduced the Malaysia Startup League, a competitive platform for 20 innovative local startups to showcase their ideas in collaboration with Deloitte Japan, competing for a RM5,000 prize pool. Academic collaboration was also in focus, with the University of Tsukuba presenting global education opportunities and research initiatives. The ESG Talk Series, a key feature of this year's programme, brought together thought leaders and change makers from Japan and Malaysia to discuss sustainability, green innovation and corporate responsibility. A particularly meaningful moment was the Live Painting and Silent Auction of 'The Crane of Internal Spring', an original piece created during the expo. Former Miss HK Grace Chan eyes Malaysia for chocolate brand launch, with actor-hubby Kevin Cheng as possible opening guest

KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 — Chocolate lovers, rejoice! Former Miss Hong Kong Grace Chan is keen to bring her own chocolate line to Malaysia. The 34-year-old, who is also an actress and TV host, recently launched her premium chocolate brand, Dulce Vida, in April this year, in collaboration with Miss Marble Bakery's founder Fafa. According to their official website, all of the Dulce Vida chocolate and sweets are made with low sugar content using high-quality ingredients. They also have an array of selections such as pistachio dark chocolate bars, chocolate moon cake set, sea salt caramel pretzel dark chocolate bars as well as passion fruit jasmine chocolate beans. Chan, who was attending the grand opening of the famous Hong Kong rice noodle outlet Tamjai Mixian at Sunway Pyramid, was accompanied by her husband Kevin Cheng, a well-known TVB actor and singer. 'I recently started my own chocolate brand and I'm really hoping to bring it to Malaysia, so you guys can try it too. 'Because I really love desserts and I love sweets and you can get to see a different side of Grace, the businesswoman side,' Chan said. Chan added that she would also love for her husband to be her opening guest if she ever opened a shop here. Chan and her husband were invited as guest artists for the opening of the first Tamjai Mixian's Malaysia outlet. Both were greeted by around 100 local fans who had gathered for the meet-and-greet session. This wasn't the first time the Hong Kong power couple had been invited as guest artists — back in March, they also attended the launch of a health spa at Sunway Pyramid.
