(Chris Campbell/CTV News Windsor) Chatham-Kent police say a 49-year-old Blenheim woman facing over 40 charges has been arrested for breaching her bail conditions. She allegedly made several unauthorized transactions at various businesses and through online platforms using a bank card that did not belong to her. Police say these transactions occurred between Jan. 16-23, 2025. They took place over multiple days and locations and included ATM, withdrawals and merchandise purchases. After conducting a thorough investigation, the individual was charged with over 40 criminal offences including the following: Fraud Under $5,000 Use of a Credit Card Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Police say the total amount fraudulently spent was reimbursed to the victim. On Jan. 31, 2025, the accused was released with multiple condition, one which prohibited her from attending any branch of a local financial institution in the province of Ontario. On July 11, officers responded to a report involving a breach of release conditions after the mentioned individual entered a branch of the restricted institution, contrary to the conditions of their release. Officers located the individual and she was charged for the following: Failure to Comply She was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where is currently being held for bail.

Man arrested after allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old girl on Toronto subway

A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old girl on a TTC subway in Toronto's East Danforth neighbourhood on Sunday, police said. Toronto police said officers responded to a sexual assault call in the Main Street and Danforth Avenue area around 10 a.m. on Sunday. A 12-year-old girl was approached by a male suspect on a TTC subway, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her, police said in a release on Tuesday. The victim didn't sustain any physical injuries, police said. Police said they have arrested a 60-year-old man from Toronto. He was charged with sexual assault on a person under the age of 16 and sexual interference. Police said they believe there may be more victims. Anyone with information in relation to this case is asked to contact police or leave a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

Montreal police (SPVM) says it received a call at 5:20 a.m. asking that officers do a wellness check at a home on Baldwin Street near Yves Prévost Boulevard. 'When police officers arrived on site, they found an inanimate body of a woman aged 60 years old,' said Julien Lévesque, a spokesperson with Montreal police. 'Sadly, her death was determined on site.' An investigation has been launched to understand the events leading up to her death. The force says the incident is the 22nd homicide on its territory this year.
