Social media is not the real world, says Carrie Underwood
The 42-year-old singer has developed an effective strategy to deal with social media trolls in recent years, with Carrie revealing that she's learned to "post and ghost" on platforms like Instagram.
Discussing her social media motto, Carrie told E! News: "I stole that from Joe Rogan. It's really important when you think about social media that you realise it's not the real world.
"It took me a long time to realise that, and a long time to be secure enough in myself to be like, 'Do I care if somebody doesn't like my hair today, or this thing I sang or how I sang it? I don't.'"
Carrie insists that she has bigger, more important things to worry about in her life.
The chart-topping star - who has sons Isaiah, ten, and Jacob, six, with husband Mike Fisher - said: "I'm 42 years old. I've got two kids I'm trying to raise to be good humans. I'm just out there doing the best I can, so if I want to post something, I'm just going to do it and leave it there."
Carrie rose to prominence after winning the fourth season of 'American Idol' in 2005. And the singer has now confessed to being "so naive" during her early years in the music business.
The 'Inside Your Heaven' hitmaker - who is now part of the 'American Idol' judging panel - said: "Being on the show when I was 22 years old, every single week was like, 'Do or die, now or never'. I felt grateful that I even got the opportunity to get to be on the show, and I still feel like that now. I do get nervous for the hopefuls.
"I do want everybody to win, but alas."
Carrie previously acknowledged that 'American Idol' has changed the course of her life.
The singer made the confession as she looked forward to returning to the show as a member of the judging panel.
In an announcement video, Carrie said: "I went from nobody knowing my name to tens of million of people watching the show.
"I'm proud of everything that I was able to accomplish on the show and I'm so proud of everything I've accomplished since."

'Juvenile and awful': ABC presenter Nate Byrne who suffered on-air panic attack reveals cruel letter from 'disappointed' viewer
ABC presenter Nate Byrne has revealed the contents of cruel fan mail he received after unveiling his new haircut on-air this month. Byrne, who presents the morning weather for the public broadcaster, revealed he received a letter from a fan who described his hairstyle as 'juvenile and awful'. He sported a fresh edgy look with a fade on the sides of his head with gel through the top. Taking to Instagram, Byrne shared a photo of a note he received on August 13 from the unnamed viewer with the subheading simply reading, 'Haircut'. 'Good morning Nate,' it began. 'Whilst I respect your right to have your hair styled as you wish, I am exercising my right to tell you it looks juvenile and awful. 'I'll return to ABC Breakfast once it grows out. 'Yours sincerely – signed - name redacted - (Disappointed viewer).' Byrne took the criticism in good humour asking his followers if anyone has suggestions for his next haircut. 'Mail's in! Proof that the art of letter-writing isn't dead! Anyone have any suggestions for my next do?' he said. The post attracted messages of support from fellow TV stars. Fellow colleague, ABC Breakfast TV presenter James Glenday said: 'Never change Nate! We can have some fun with this. And anyway, it's better to be looked over than overlooked?' MasterChef judge Poh Ling Yeow wrote, 'Can u please make it extra 'juvenile'? Nate I used to get hate mail about my 'fake' laugh. ABC viewers.' Dancing With The Stars judge Todd McKenney added, 'This has made my day. I thought I was the only one to get this sort of feedback! You always rock your look. Don't touch one strand!' Meanwhile, fans rallied around Byrne and defended his new hairstyle. 'Dear Disappointed Viewer, your opinion is important, just not to anyone here. Yours sincerely, 68-year-old bald guy,' commented one fan. 'Omg how ridiculous. Nate you are AMAZING, a beautiful human, who is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, clearly love your job, your passion lights up the screen. We LOVE YOU. Do not change, you are a very rare treasure. Xxxx' another said. 'I actually said to my dad the other morning I noticed you'd had a haircut. I said to him if I was a gay man you'd be my type. Nate, you're hot,' a third added. Byrne who has been presenting ABC's morning program since 2017 previously was applauded by viewers for how he handled an on-air panic attack in August last year. The panic attack came as he was reading Queensland's weather forecast. 'I'm actually going to need to stop for a second,' he said suddenly, before mentioning the condition which affects him. 'Some of you may know that I occasionally get affected by some panic attacks, and actually that's happening right now." He then asked to hand the broadcast back to co-presenters Lisa Millar and Michael Rowland. Millar agreed and took the opportunity to bring up a piece Byrne wrote in 2022 about suffering panic attacks on-air. 'Nate wrote a great piece on the ABC online website about this and I reckon we might re-up it, put it on our socials, you can have a bit of a read,' she said. 'The response when he first wrote about it and spoke about it was that everyone said, 'Oh thank god, Nate's not perfect, we thought he was perfect, but actually he's now sharing something'.'

'Summer memories': Nicole Kidman shares happy snaps with daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret in Europe, while son Connor Cruise is spotted partying in Florida
Nicole Kidman is famed for her tireless work ethic, but the Oscar-winning actress has pressed pause on her busy schedule to soak up the European summer with her youngest daughters. The 58-year-old Hollywood star took to Instagram on Wednesday to post rare family snaps from her getaway with Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. "Summer memories. Now back to school," Kidman captioned the post, which featured videos and pictures of the family enjoying the sunshine alongside her sister Antonia and niece Lucia Hawley. While husband Keith Urban was absent from the photo roll, Kidman shared a series of smiling selfies with her daughters. One image included a birthday cake for Sunday Rose, who turned 17 on July 7. The teenager, who recently graced the cover of Nylon Magazine, also shared her own summer throwbacks on Instagram. "School's back, so time to reminisce the vacay," she wrote, alongside photos of her birthday cake, a Mediterranean lunch, a 'Ciao' cap and a copy of Stephen King's Misery. Despite her burgeoning modelling career, Sunday Rose recently revealed her famous Aussie parents have set strict rules around her education. During her interview with Nylon, Sunday revealed said there were "two big rules" before she could step into fashion: no work until she was 16, and that "school always has to come first". Although she admitted she "hated" those restrictions at first, she now credits them with keeping her grounded. "So at my first show, while I was walking, I was actually just thinking about the amount of schoolwork I was going to have to make up!" she confessed. The teen added that life in Nashville, Tennessee, allows her and her sister to fly under the radar despite having famous parents. "When people my age meet me, they normally don't know anything about my life, which is sort of wonderful because I am able to make a first impression based on who I am and not who my family is," she said. Meanwhile, Kidman's older children with her first husband, Tom Cruise, live very different lives. The former couple adopted Isabella 'Bella', now 32, and Connor, 30, during their marriage in the '90s. While Bella is an artist based in London, Connor works as a DJ and lives in Clearwater, Florida, near his father and the Church of Scientology's headquarters. Both are said to be estranged from their mother, though neither has publicly addressed the rift. While Nicole and her daughters were abroad, Connor appeared to be making the most of the Florida heat. On August 5, he was tagged in a social media post aboard a pirate ship with friends, grinning in photos captioned: "Highly contagious pirate energy."
