Nearly half of Magic Kingdom's attractions shut down Monday night, reports say
The same night that the Philadelphia Eagles were celebrating their Super Bowl win at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, nearly all the rides shut down at the park, according to reports by local outlets WKMG News 6 and WOFL.
There were some social media posts about the issue.
"My brother is at Disney World right now & everything just stopped," @MelissaElrod20 wrote in the post on X. "People are stuck in rides everywhere [and] all the lights inside the rides are on. He said it's pandemonium in the streets at the Magic Kingdom."
Hours before the park was set to close at 10 p.m. local time, the My Disney Experience app listed 18 out of the park's 40 attractions as "temporarily closed," reported local news outlet News 6. Guests use the My Disney Experience app to view the wait times of rides and the app also shows which rides are out of service.
"This is crazy," wrote a Reddit user in the Walt Disney World subreddit. "Several ride queues emptied out in front of me. [I] go to the next ride, and it's being emptied."

At 8 p.m. on Monday, only five rides were available to ride, according to News 6.
Attractions guests were able to ride included the following, according to the news outlet:
The Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square
Jungle Cruise in Adventureland
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover in Tomorrow Land
Tron Lightcycle / Run in Tomorrowland
As of Tuesday morning, at 8:45 a.m. ET, some of the rides that were listed as "temporarily unavailable" on Monday have wait times and seem to be available on the My Disney Experience app. Rides without wait times listed on the rides will not open until 9 a.m. ET.
USA TODAY has reached out to Walt Disney World for comment.
What caused the rides to shut down?
Although there were claims online that the shutdown was due to a power outage, what actually caused the park's attractions to be shut down remains unclear.
Rides shut down during Disney After Hours event
While the rides shut down before the park closed, Magic Kingdom was scheduled to host a "Disney After Hours" ticketed event, according to Walt Disney World's website.
The event allows guests who purchased a separate ticket, priced from $175 to $185 plus tax, to stay from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., after the park closes for regular ticket or annual pass holders.
However, by 10 p.m., the time the event was set to start, only three rides were shut down, reported WOFL.
On the list were the following:
Space Mountain in Tomorrowland
Tiana's Bayou Adventure in Frontierland
"It's a Small World" in Fantasyland
It is unclear if the event was affected by the ride closures.
Super Bowl winners "fly to Disney World"
On Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles, the winners of the big game that happened the night before, also made the traditional visit to the Magic Kingdom.
In a video posted to Walt Disney World's Instagram, Jalen Hurts, the Eagle's quarterback, can be seen on a parade float with Mickey and Minnie Mouse driving down Main Street USA.
It is not known if the Philadelphia Eagles were affected by the ride shutdown.
Are rides still down?
As of Tuesday, at 8:45 a.m. ET, the only rides that were listed on the theme park app as unavailable were previously closed for refurbishment before Monday night's shutdown.
The rides "closed for refurbishment" are:
Astro Orbitor in Tomorrowland
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland
The Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square

Tom Brady's 3 Kids Are the "Center" of His World: Meet Jack, Benjamin, and Vivian
Tom Brady shares his eldest son Jack with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan. He also co-parents Benjamin and Vivian with his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen. Brady and Bündchen tied the knot in 2009 and finalized their divorce in Brady's decorated resumé includes a whopping seven Super Bowl wins and five Super Bowl MVP awards, but his greatest achievement is arguably his three children: Jack, Benjamin, and Vivian. The NFL retiree shares his kids with two ex-partners: Bridget Moynahan (best known for playing Big's first wife in Sex and the City) and Gisele Bündchen, Brazilian supermodel of Victoria's Secret fame. "From the very beginning, the whole goal specifically was to always keep it positive," Moynahan told People about co-parenting with Brady. "To raise a son in the healthiest environment, and I know we've all done that, and it shows." Bündchen's take on co-parenting with Brady is slightly more measured, however. "I think there's easier days than others," she said in an interview with Robin Roberts. "And I can only control what I do." For his part, Brady has celebrated both women on Mother's Day while staying honest about his own role as a father to his three kids. "Being a parent is probably the hardest job all of us have," he said, per E!. "And we screwed up a lot and I've screwed up a lot as a parent." Though he is no "expert" in parenting, Brady hopes to "be dependable and consistent" for his kids. "My kids naturally are gonna be faced with their own challenges, and they gotta figure out how to overcome them, too," he continued. "And I'll be there to support them a lot like my parents did. And I'll be learning along the way right there with them." Ahead, find everything Tom Brady has shared about his three children, Jack, Benjamin, and Vivian. Before Tom Brady coupled up with one of the most famous supermodels in the world, he spent roughly two years dating aforementioned actress Bridget Moynahan. The duo met in 2004, dated until 2006, and announced their pregnancy in early 2007. Their son, John "Jack" Edward Thomas, was born on August 22, 2007, in Santa Monica, California. Brady had already begun dating Bündchen at the time. 'It wasn't the ideal situation for anyone—there's no manual to prepare you for that,' Bündchen later told People. 'But I'm so grateful for [Bridget],' she says. 'I know this was hard, but I couldn't imagine my life without [Jack]. I call him my bonus child.' Jack's primary home is in New York City with his mom and her husband, Andrew Frankel, whom she married in 2015. Following in his father's footsteps, the teen is the quarterback of his high school football team. "I love watching him play quarterback because I think there's very few things in life that I could probably help him with," Brady said. "You know, I don't have a lot of specialties in life other than probably throwing the football." He continued, "He's way smarter. He's got a great work ethic. He's just a great kid. But I can definitely help him at quarterback." Following Brady and Bündchen's wedding in February 2009, the couple welcomed a son. Benjamin Rein was born at home on December 8, 2009 in Boston, Massachusetts. Brady later reflected on the experience in his ESPN+ series, Man in the Arena: Tom Brady. "I think we brought this boy into the world in the most precious way," he said. Though Ben isn't exactly a die-hard sports fan, he still opted to follow in his father's footsteps by joining his school's football team. Brady then gifted the teen a $3 million watch when the NFL quarterback won the 2025 Super Bowl. His reaction? "Woah!" followed by "That's crazy." Bündchen, meanwhile, eventually convinced Brady that there was nothing wrong with a son who isn't obsessed with sports. "It was hard for me," Brady recalled. "I was like, 'What do you mean? He's a boy; he should do all these things that I do.'" He continued, "The reality is that Benny just likes different things. And it's great because now I just have to go do what he wants to do." Ben's dad frequently celebrates him on social media. On his 14th birthday, Brady praised his son's "awesomeness," jokingly adding that he had some impressive "debating skills." Bündchen, meanwhile, called him "the sweetest boy" in her own birthday homage posted to Instagram. Brady and Bündchen's daughter Vivian Lake completed their family with her arrival on December 5, 2012 in Boston, Massachusetts. A few days later, Brady gushed that she was a "beautiful little girl." ""I grew up in a house with three sisters," he told ESPN. "I think it's great for my boys to have a girl in the house, just to understand at least a little bit about what makes a woman tick." The NFL star later admitted that he spoiled his only daughter. "That little girl owns my day—owns my life," he told Entertainment Tonight. "[I] cannot say no to anything. Whatever she tells her dad to do, that's what I do. That's just the way it goes." Vivian followed in her mother's footsteps by falling in love with horseback riding. The supermodel subsequently purchased a horse farm in 2023. The mother-daughter duo also do yoga together. Although she is now a teen, Brady stills calls Vivian his "forever baby girl." The duo recently traveled to Paris together to watch the 2024 Olympics. "Your love, compassion, and joy fill up every room that you're in, and will always make your daddy smile," Brady wrote on Instagram when Vivian turned 12. "You light up my life!" NFL.com Predicts Bills Will Finally End Super Bowl Drought In 2025
Predicts Bills Will Finally End Super Bowl Drought In 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Buffalo Bills appeared to be closer than ever to reaching the Super Bowl with Josh Allen last year, but again, they fell at the final hurdle. Advertisement Now, as 2025 approaches, following an offseason that has seen the defense receive several upgrades, particularly to its pass rush, and Allen acquire another weapon in Joshua Palmer, the Bills' roster appears to be, on paper at least, Super Bowl-caliber. But under Sean McDermott, can this version of the Bills do something that the teams of the early 90s couldn't and finally break through? Eric Edholm ranked all teams without a Super Bowl win, and named Buffalo as his top candidate to break their drought. "Everyone knows the Bills' story: four straight Super Bowl appearances, no victories," Edholm writes. "But that doesn't tell it all. Buffalo has played multiple playoff games each of the past five seasons, losing twice to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game in that span. Painfully close to a dream deferred, yet still so far from the elusive rings. Advertisement "But with Josh Allen, those dreams can't be shelved. With a pretty loaded roster, the 2025 Bills have a real opportunity to fulfill their Super Bowl dreams." Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (17).© Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images The Bills have been a dominant force in the regular season over the past few years, but when it comes to the playoffs and, in particular, the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo has seen its season end at the hands of Patrick Mahomes four straight times. Is this upcoming season the time when Allen and Co. can finally bring it all together and not only make the Super Bowl, but win it? They have the roster to do it, but the mental scars of previous failings will be hard to overcome. If Allen can put on the Superman cape, then who knows? Maybe he will be the one to finally end Buffalo's title drought. USC's Jeff Bregel makes 2026 College Football Hall of Fame ballot
USC's Jeff Bregel makes 2026 College Football Hall of Fame ballot On Monday, the College Football Hall of Fame ballot for the class of 2026 was released. Included on this year's ballot was USC football offensive lineman Jeff Bregel. We have written about Bregel's importance to the Trojan football program: "Bregel is an important USC Trojan because he was a significant part of the 1984 team which provided fans sweet relief in the middle of a difficult stretch for the program. After the dynastic period of the 1960s and 1970s under iconic coaches John McKay and John Robinson, USC fell on hard times under Ted Tollner in the mid-1980s. The one Tollner team which rose above mediocrity was that 1984 team. It won the Pac-10 championship and secured a Rose Bowl berth by stunning a Washington team which ended the season No. 2 in the country. It's safe to say that USC denied coach Don James a national championship, seven years before his 1991 team crossed the threshold and earned a split title with Miami." Bregel is a Rose Bowl champion. He is also a Super Bowl champion, as we pointed out: "Jeff Bregel did not have a long NFL career, but he was a top-40 draft pick (No. 37) in 1987. He played 21 games and started three. Best of all, the team he played for was the San Francisco 49ers at the height of their powers under Joe Montana. Bregel won a Super Bowl with the 1988 49ers, who defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII on a touchdown pass from Montana to John Taylor with 34 seconds left in regulation." Now we wait to see if Jeff Bregel can add a College Football Hall of Fame induction to his football resume.
