N.S. woman charged with drug trafficking after Jeep crashes into Shelburne County home
The RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Upper Clyde Road in Upper Clyde River, N.S., shortly after 1 p.m. on May 26.
Police say a Jeep Grand Cherokee had been travelling along the road when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which left the road and struck a house.
A 41-year-old man who was inside the home was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The driver of the vehicle and her passenger, a 68-year-old woman from Clarke's Harbour, weren't injured.
The RCMP says officers found a quantity of cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking when they searched the vehicle and driver's bag.
The driver, Tamera Paige Smith of Amirault Hills, was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.
She appeared in Yarmouth provincial court on May 27 and was released on conditions pending future court appearances.

Ontario cottage country murder and arson suspect confirmed dead

Police said that although Gray hadn't been located, he wasn't believed to pose a threat to public safety because the individuals involved were known to each other. Article content Police issued a wanted bulletin. As of Tuesday afternoon, Ontario Provincial Police said they were still searching for Gray. 'He remains outstanding,' an OPP spokesperson told National Post. 'We ask that anyone with information about the incident or his whereabouts to contact police or Crime Stoppers.' Police to provide update on death of international student struck by stray bullet in Hamilton
Hamilton police identified 21-year-old Harsimrat Randhawa as the victim who died in a shooting on April 17. (Hamilton Police Service) Police will be providing an update this morning on the death of a 21-year-old international student who was struck by a stray bullet in Hamilton last spring. Harsimrat Randhawa was shot and killed on Upper James Street in Hamilton on April 17. Police previously said the international student from India was studying at Mohawk College and was shot while waiting for a bus. Investigators said the woman was an innocent bystander and was shot by suspects who were inside a vehicle. Police seek arsonists for Bradford West Gwillimbury fires

A police car on patrol near Professor Day Drive and Holland Street West saw the smoke and headed over to the school Sunday night. There, both police and firefighters found a portable toilet on fire. Later that night, South Simcoe Police responded to a call about people with a gas can attempting to light things on fire in the same area where the first fire occurred. Once again, police and firefighters arrived and this time found a garbage can on fire with a gas can located nearby. After canvassing the area, witnesses told police about seeing a man and woman walking towards St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School. Police are investigating both incidents and believe that they may be related. South Simcoe Police are appealing to anyone with information or video footage from Sunday in the areas of Fieldcrest Elementary School and St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School to contact Police Const.
