Nissan Launches All-New Patrol in Egypt and Africa
Combining a rich heritage of over 70 years of excellence with advanced aesthetics, the latest model is a textbook interpretation of Nissan's global design philosophy that is rooted in the concepts of 'Daring Presence' and 'Established Prestige'.
As Nissan Africa president Jordi Vila explained to the assembled media and Nissan's partners across Egypt, 'The Nissan Patrol is arriving in Africa, starting with Egypt, as we continue our brand promise of excellence, elegance, and premium craftsmanship. A new era of refined luxury begins here.'
The All-new Nissan Patrol, he said, was a vehicle that would perform outstandingly irrespective of the terrain or whether it was used for daily commuting or the adventure of a lifetime. Its arrival will reinforce the leadership of the Nissan brand in Egypt and support our broader product strategy across Africa.
Nissan Egypt Managing Director Mohamed Abdelsamad agreed, saying the all-new Patrol offered a unique and powerful automotive solution. 'With the launch of this legendary model in the Egyptian market, we affirm our ongoing commitment to provide a premium driving experience, supported by the latest Nissan technologies.'
'The All-New Nissan Patrol has arrived to complement our robust lineup in Egypt, from the best-selling Sunny, a staple in the Egyptian market, to the versatile Sentra, the dynamic Juke, the stylish Qashqai, the adventurous X-Trail, and the rugged Navara. With the Patrol joining this distinguished family, we reaffirm our leadership in the SUV segment and our commitment to delivering excellence across every category.' Abdelsamad added. All-new Engines
The seventh-generation Nissan Patrol is the most powerful version of the SUV to date, setting new benchmarks in performance, responsiveness, and efficiency. It offers two engine options to accommodate different driving styles: The first is a new twin-turbocharged V6 engine that delivers 425 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, representing a 7% increase in power and a 25% boost in torque compared to the previous V8 engine. The engine is also 24% more fuel efficient, reflecting Nissan's commitment to innovative powertrain development, prioritizing performance and sustainability. The second option is a naturally aspirated 3.8-litre V6 engine, producing 316 horsepower and 386 Nm of torque.
The new engine boasts several key upgrades, including refined throttle response, heat-reflective coatings for improved thermal efficiency, a heat-resistant turbocharger for high-stress driving, and a high-performance oil pump to ensure consistent lubrication across rugged terrain. These enhancements optimize airflow and combustion as well as reduce environmental impact.
Strong and Elegant Exterior Design
The all-new Patrol features a commanding and elegant exterior design. Nissan's iconic V-Motion grille is broader and seamlessly integrated into the bodywork. The bold front is flanked by the distinctive new double C-shaped adaptive LED headlights for optimal visibility, while the striking full-width light bar further accentuates the bold exterior evolution. The Patrol rides on 22-inch alloy wheels, offering both aesthetic appeal and ground-gripping performance on rough terrain. Customers can choose from seven striking exterior colours, including four dual-tone combinations emphasizing individuality and luxury. Advanced Technology for a Unique Driving Experience
The Patrol's new nine-speed automatic transmission ensures a smooth, responsive drive across city streets and off-road landscapes. With rapid gear changes and paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel, drivers enjoy seamless acceleration and heightened control.
The all-new suspension system features electronic dampers that automatically adjust to road conditions for greater comfort and stability, working in tandem with an adaptive air suspension system that allows height adjustments for superior performance across various surfaces. An enhanced electronic steering system with lane-keeping assistance further improves safety and precision.
The Patrol offers six drive modes: Standard, Sand, Rock, Mud, Eco, and Sport, ensuring readiness for any road or challenge.
Refined Comfort, Innovative Design, and Cutting-Edge Safety
The cabin exudes luxury and spaciousness, highlighted by a standard panoramic sunroof and NASA-inspired Zero Gravity seats in the first and second rows. These ergonomic seats reduce fatigue and maximize comfort using biomechanics designed to mimic weightlessness. An adjustable power leg rest further enhances long-drive comfort.
The interior boasts dual 14.3-inch screens for navigation and infotainment, plus two 12.8-inch rear-seat entertainment displays, enabling seamless wireless or wired device connectivity. The gear selector has been upgraded to a sleek electronic 'Piano Key' shifter, offering a modern, intuitive driving experience.
The All-New Nissan Patrol introduces an exceptional audio experience with its 12-speaker Klipsch Premium Audio system. Featured in select trims, this system delivers an immersive and crystal-clear soundscape that integrates seamlessly into the Patrol's interior, thanks to precision-engineered components developed by Nissan and Klipsch engineers.
Complementing this sensory sophistication is the Patrol's segment-first Biometric Cooling technology, designed to maintain optimal comfort regardless of external temperatures. Available in select grades, this innovative system uses a built-in infrared sensor to detect the body temperature of front and second row passengers, and automatically adjusts air flow settings to provide a smart, intuitive cooling experience. Advanced Safety Systems
The all-new Nissan Patrol offers a comprehensive set of safety systems, including the 360-degree Panorama View system, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and rear automatic braking. Protection has also been enhanced with a structure made of higher-density reinforced steel, along with seven airbags. Ongoing Commitment to Innovation and Excellence
The launch of the all-new Nissan Patrol reinforces Nissan Egypt's position as the market leader, reaffirming its commitment to deliver automotive solutions that merge robust performance with advanced safety, luxurious comfort, and the latest technology. This new generation of Patrol exemplifies Nissan's vision of innovation, delivering world-class vehicles tailored to the needs of its Egyptian customers, making it the SUV of choice for those who demand excellence without compromise.

CBE Governor Tours Printing House with Nigerian Counterpart in New Capital
In line with Egypt's vision to strengthen ties with African nations across all sectors, H.E. Mr. Hassan Abdalla, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), welcomed H.E. Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and his accompanying delegation for strategic discussions at the CBE premises. The meeting focused on expanding bilateral cooperation between the two central banks in key areas. Following productive discussions, Mr. Abdalla escorted Mr. Cardoso on a tour of the New Administrative Capital's Printing House. The visit demonstrated the end-to-end stages of banknote production —from design to final delivery. The delegation gained valuable insights into the facility's production capacity, advanced technologies, and robust anti-counterfeiting security measures. The visit also showcased quality control protocols ensuring precision at every step, including thorough banknote testing at various production stages before issuance. In addition to the tour, the visit featured a comprehensive exchange of technical expertise and knowledge between the CBE's representatives and the delegation of the CBN. The Egyptian side presented the CBE's progress across a number of specialized fields, including Supervisory Regulations, Basel Frameworks, Monetary Policy, Macroprudential Policy, alongside the On-Site and Off-Site Supervision, as well as the Large Corporates, Banking Affairs, Information Technology, FinTech, Cybersecurity, and the Data Science and Advance Analytics Hub. Moreover, the visit encompassed a strategic meeting with the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI) —the CBE's training arm— to explore its capacity-building programs for banking sector personnel, aligned with the international best practices. On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Hassan Abdalla welcomed his Nigerian counterpart, affirming that Egypt prioritizes its relations with African nations and is committed to strengthening cooperation with them, while sharing its successful expertise across various fields. Mr. Abdalla also congratulated Mr. Cardoso on the successful hosting of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) Meetings last month, expressing sincere appreciation for Nigeria's generous hospitality and warm reception during the event. From his side, H.E. Mr. Olayemi Cardoso emphasized the significance of the visit as an opportunity to deepen financial and economic cooperation between the two countries. Remittances up, dollar down: EGP finds support amid uncertain global outlook - Economy
The Egyptian pound has continued to strengthen modestly against the US dollar, with the official exchange rate falling below EGP 49 for the first time since late October 2024, nearly nine months ago. As of Monday, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) listed the dollar at EGP 48.6 for buying and EGP 48.7 for selling, down from EGP 49.0 and EGP 49.1, respectively, at the close of trading last Thursday. Every month, the dollar has depreciated against the pound by roughly 1.7 percent. Year-on-year, however, it remains up by around 0.7 percent, according to Ahram Online calculations based on the greenback rate from a range of public and private banks. 'The recent appreciation of the Egyptian pound against the US dollar signals a modest rebalancing in the foreign exchange market,' banking expert Hani Abou El-Fotouh told Ahram Online. 'This has been driven by local improvements, including a narrowing of the gap between official and parallel market rates, increased access to foreign currency through formal channels, and stronger FX inflows from debt instruments and anticipated investments.' Abou El-Fotouh noted that remittance flows have shown a mild recovery, while import controls remain disciplined, helping to reduce pressure on foreign currency demand. Remittances from Egyptians abroad have maintained the sharp rise recorded between July 2024 and May 2025, reaching $32.8 billion — a 69.6 per cent increase year-on-year — according to the latest figures from the CBE. 'However, in my view, this trend is fragile unless supported by deeper structural reforms, particularly those that boost exports and expand domestic production capacity. On the global level, the dollar remains resilient, supported by robust US data and expectations of prolonged high interest rates. Relying solely on short-term inflows or administrative measures is unsustainable. Achieving genuine currency stability requires addressing underlying economic imbalances, especially in the context of a tightening global monetary environment,' he warned. A recent report by US investment bank Goldman Sachs echoed that caution, suggesting that the Egyptian pound remains undervalued by around 30 percent relative to its fair value. The bank said there is room for further appreciation, particularly if portfolio inflows continue and key monetary indicators improve. The report highlighted that the pound has held steady since its devaluation in March 2024, with the convergence of official and parallel market rates signalling growing investor confidence in Egypt's exchange rate policy, despite ongoing geopolitical challenges in the region. Goldman Sachs also pointed to anchored expectations and low volatility, with the official exchange rate fluctuating within a narrow band since the beginning of the year. On the fundamentals front, it cited a rebound in Egypt's foreign reserves and a reversal in the banking sector's net foreign asset position, which swung from a $17.6 billion deficit at the start of 2023 to a $4.8 billion surplus by May 2025. Meanwhile, an International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission is scheduled to visit Egypt in September to conduct the fifth and sixth reviews of the country's $8 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF) loan programme. Both reviews are expected to be completed by December. The mission will also begin discussions for the first review of Egypt's $1.3 billion Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF) loan programme, which is likewise expected to conclude before the end of the year. Completion of all three reviews would make Egypt eligible to receive a combined disbursement of over $2.4 billion. Follow us on: Facebook Instagram Whatsapp Short link:
