Preview: Wizards finish Summer League against Knicks on Saturday
Game Info
When: Saturday, July 19 at 3:30 p.m. ET
Where: Cox Pavilion, Las Vegas, NV
How to watch: Monumental Sports Network or NBA TV
What to watch for
Washington heads into their fifth Summer League game with a 1-3 record. Considering that the Wizards didn't really play many of their top draft picks of the last two years like Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington, Keyshawn George, Tre Johnson and Will Riley among others … I guess it's not THAT surprising that the Wizards gave the Jazz their first win of the Summer League season on July 16.
From the Wizards' standpoint, they will likely stay the course when playing the Knicks. I don't see them playing the draft picks extended minutes, and I doubt the Knicks, also 1-3, will either. So let's just enjoy one more game of Summer League basketball until at least EuroBasket in late August.

Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen to skip 2025 FIBA Asia Cup with China
Portland Trail Blazers rookie Yang Hansen will reportedly not play with the Chinese national team in the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup on Aug. 5-17, according to China's Xinhua News Agency. Yang requested to skip the 31st edition of the event for the various subzones of Asia and Oceania to prepare for his upcoming rookie season in the NBA. He is set to participate in two training camps organized by the Trail Blazers beginning on Aug. 11. The 16th pick in the 2025 NBA draft helped China qualify for the tournament, averaging 8.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and one block in six appearances. The decision to skip the event was made to prioritize his long-term development. Yang was an All-Star in each of the past two seasons with Qingdao in the CBA, the top professional league in China. He averaged 16.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, three assists and 2.6 blocks in 32.8 minutes per game across 45 appearances last season. The 7-footer debuted with the Trail Blazers in the NBA Summer League, averaging 10.8 points, five rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.2 blocks on 45.7% shooting from the field in four games. He scored in double figures three times, including a 15-point effort on July 15. Yang is highly touted for his overall skill set and ability as a player who can work down low, space the floor and protect the paint. The Trail Blazers have had him on their radar for the past two years and believe he can be a player who contributes at a high level on both sides of the court.

Former Sixers forward Lonnie Walker IV signs deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv
The Philadelphia 76ers brought Lonnie Walker IV back over to the NBA at the trade deadline after he had began the season overseas. A former first-round pick of the San Antonio Spurs back in 2018, Walker spent six seasons in the league before going overseas, and the Sixers brought him back on a deal. In 20 games for Philadelphia, with seven starts, Walker averaged 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while shooting 42% from the floor and 35.4% from deep. He knocked down eight triples in the season finale loss to the Chicago Bulls which was one 3-pointer shy of tying the franchise record for most 3s in a game with nine held by Tyrese Maxey, Danny Green, and Dana Barros. The Sixers declined Walker's team option making him a free agent. Now, the 7-year forward will once again head overseas as he will reportedly sign a deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv in the EuroLeague. Walker will now look for his next opportunity in the NBA as he will look to eventually work his way back. For now, he will continue his basketball career internationally.

LeBron James seen partying with A-listers amid Lakers trade rumors
LeBron James is living it up in Cannes amid speculation about his Lakers future. The NBA's all-time leading scorer was spotted partying in the South of France this week with his wife, Savannah James, and his business partner, Maverick Carter. A video of the couple dancing and singing along to Kendrick Lamar's Drake diss track, 'Not Like Us,' while wining and dining at an oceanfront restaurant made the rounds online Tuesday. At one point, Savannah was seen sipping a glass of white wine and dancing with her portable fan in the other hand. The video also included Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who was seen filming his wife, Lauren Sanchez, dancing to the song at a table nearby. The couple tied the knot in a star-studded affair last month in Venice. James clearly took advice from his agent, Rich Paul, who said he told the four-time NBA champ to 'enjoy his summer' amid constant attention about his playing future. James, who will turn 41 in December, is rumored to want out of the Lakers after Paul released a statement regarding the 21-time All-Star accepting his $52.6 million player option. 'LeBron wants to compete for a championship,' Paul told ESPN last month. 'He knows the Lakers are building for the future. He understands that, but he values a realistic chance of winning it all. We are very appreciative of the partnership that we've had for eight years with Jeanie [Buss] and Rob [Pelinka] and consider the Lakers as a critical part of his career. 'We understand the difficulty in winning now while preparing for the future. We do want to evaluate what's best for LeBron at this stage in his life and career. He wants to make every season he has left count, and the Lakers understand that, are supportive and want what's best for him.' James, who is entering his 23rd season, has a no-trade clause in his contract. Despite speculation that James might reunite with Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis in Dallas, NBA insider Rachel Nichols reported last week that the 'Mavericks do not want LeBron James' and 'have messaged that out through multiple reporters.' Nichols added that she 'thinks that door is closed.'
