Elaine Hendrix on reuniting with Parent Trap's Lindsay Lohan in 'Freakier Friday'
Fast forward 27 years, 'The Parent Trap's' Elaine Hendrix and Lindsay Lohan are reuniting on-screen — this time, in another body-swapping twist.
Lohan, 39, returns as Anna Coleman in 'Freakier Friday,' the sequel to the 2003 Disney hit 'Freaky Friday.' Jamie Lee Curtis and Chad Michael Murray also reprise their roles as Tess Coleman and Jake, respectively.

Hendrix, for her part, makes a cameo as Blake Kale, Anna's editor at Rolling Stone.

'Freakier Friday' picks up years after the original, as Anna and Tess find themselves in another body-swapping situation — only this time, Anna's daughter, Harper Coleman (Julia Butters), and her soon-to-be stepdaughter, Lily Davies (Sophia Hammons), are also caught up in the chaos.
The new movie marks a full-circle moment for Hendrix and Lohan, who first shared the screen in 1998's 'The Parent Trap,' a remake of the original 1961 film.
'I love Lindsay so much, and we had such a special experience together,' Hendrix, 54, told The Post. 'None of us could have predicted what 'The Parent Trap' became. All we knew was that we were on this very beautiful, lavish movie set, playing these incredible characters in this very beloved story.'
It starred Lohan as Hallie Parker and Annie James, long-lost twins who meet at summer camp and secretly swap places to reunite their divorced parents, Nick Parker (Dennis Quaid) and Elizabeth James (the late Natasha Richardson).

Hendrix played Meredith Blake, the twins' father's gold-digging fiancée.
More than two decades later, the film remains a staple for generations of fans.

'All this time, it's followed all of us with so much love, and energy, and joy from people of all walks of life still,' Hendrix said. 'That's a rare thing in this industry.'
Reuniting with Lohan for 'Freakier Friday' brought a fresh layer of nostalgia.
'Here we are, all these years later, still in the business… she was a kid, now we're both adults, and we're staying in touch,' Hendrix said. 'The whole thing makes for one magical soup.'

The pair staged an off-screen reunion at the film's world premiere in Los Angeles on July 22 — this time, bringing 'Parent Trap' co-star Lisa Ann Walter into the mix. Walter, 61, played Chessy, the feisty housekeeper to Quaid's Nick, in the Disney classic.
For Hendrix, however, the night was first and foremost about celebrating Lohan.

'From my point of view, the night was about Lindsay and coming back into the 'Freaky Friday' world through 'Freakier Friday,'' she told The Post.
'Because there is so much love for 'The Parent Trap,' I'm sure people would want that,' she added, acknowledging the nostalgia surrounding the film. 'But I also didn't want it to take anything away from what she was experiencing that night.'
Walter accompanied Hendrix to the premiere as her date — 'because she's my bestie,' Hendrix said. The duo were posing for photos when the unexpected happened.
'The next thing I know, someone's saying, 'Hey, we want to do a photo with the two of you and Lindsay. And we were like, 'Okay,'' she explained.

'[The] next thing you know, we're breaking the internet — and oh my gosh,' Hendrix said. 'It was really sweet and very special.'

Walter, for her part, told The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet that she kept catching herself looking at Lohan.
'The light that's coming out of her now, as a mom and a grown woman, is so beautiful,' she said. 'She just looks so happy. This is wonderful.'
'Freakier Friday' is now in theaters.

Howard Stern staffers prepping for show's demise, withholding best material as future uncertain
The writing has 'been on the wall for well over a year now' that SiriusXM wouldn't be renewing Howard Stern's colossal contract — and his employees have been taking advantage, 'coasting' on the clock and trolling for new gigs, two current show staffers told The Post. This week, reports surfaced that the 'Howard Stern Show's' '19-year run at SiriusXM was nearing its end, with his $500 million contract expiring at the end of the year and an audience that's apparently dwindled from 20 million a day to 125,000. Some of the show's writers have been their best jokes for themselves, to use after the show's eventual demise, one worker said. Advertisement Staffers said they're certain the show's ending this winter, whether by Howard's choice or SiriusXM's. GC Images 'Most of us have been coasting at work the last year,' because 'we know he's retiring, whether by choice or because he's forced out,' admitted one of the longtime staffers who dished to The Post this week. Stern's employees have been putting out feelers for other showbiz gigs, the two said. Advertisement 'It's been hard, because the industry [in New York City] is so incestuous, so you don't know who's talking to who,' the first employee said. 'I'm just hanging in there until this is all sorted out, and then I will take some time to unwind after all this,' the staffer continued. 'I'm a fan and it's been a big part of my life for so long, but it hasn't been fun for a while.' Before taking his annual summer break, Stern, 71, hinted in staff meetings his retirement is nigh. The staffers said they've only heard rumors regarding Stern's future at SiriusXM — nothing definitive from management or the self-proclaimed 'King of All Media' himself. The looming end of the once mighty radio personality comes after a sharp change in Stern's politics. Once a strong supporter of Republicans like former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Governor George Pataki, Stern has been accused of going woke and was an infamously ardent backer of President Biden and Kamala Harris. Stern's audience has gotten smaller since his 'woke' turn in the late 2010s. GC Images 'I don't know if its wokeness that alienated some of his audience, or if he just got tamer with age, but whatever it is, its apparent no one wants to hear it anymore,' the second staffer offered. 'I think he's content to be out in there in the Hamptons with his celebrity friends,' the first staffer offered. 'He likes being liked by famous people. That seems more important [to him] than his legacy.' Some ribbed Stern, calling him 'Hollywood Howie' after he started hanging around with the likes of Jimmy Kimmel, Jennifer Aniston, Jerry Seinfeld, and John Stamos during the late 2000s and early to mid 2010s. But since COVID Stern's become 'a hermit,' the second staffer said. 'Everyone knows he hasn't been the same since COVID. He does the show from his [Southampton] basement. And it's been sad to see how irrelevant he's become,' the employee added. Stern has also suffered immense loss in recent years, with the deaths of his father, Ben, in 2022, his best friend and stylist, Ralph Cirella, in 2023, and then his agent, Don Buchwald, in 2024. Fans have complained for years about the show's dwindling quality, and Stern's kids-gloves approach with certain guests he once would've skewered. Advertisement 'His passion hasn't been there, and that can be infectious,' the first staffer said. 'When your boss doesn't even seem like he wants to be there, its like, why should I bust my ass?' Stern and SiriusXM did not return requests for comment.

No Season 3 for teen horror series 'Goosebumps' on Disney+
Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Disney+ has canceled its young-adult horror series, Goosebumps, after two seasons. Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline said this week that producer Sony Pictures Television is trying to find a new home for the supernatural teen drama. The show was an anthology series based on R.L. Stine's best-selling novels. Season 1 starred Justin Long and Season 2 was led by David Schwimmer.
