IIT-Patna alumni who cracked UPSC return to inspire students at interactive session
1 2 Patna: The Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT-P) on Tuesday hosted an interactive session "Udaan", in which three alumni of the institute, who recently cracked the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE), shared their academic journey and insights with the students. Jointly organised by the IIT-P's centre for career development and counselling (CCDC) and the student's gymkhana, the event featured three alumni—G Sahi Darsini (AIR 112 in UPSC CSE 2023), Vivek Garg (AIR 114 in UPSC CSE 2024) and Abhinav Sharma (AIR 130 in UPSC CSE 2024). Faulty street lights? GNIDA launches 24x7 helpline, app for quick fixes
Noida: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has rolled out a 24x7 toll-free helpline and a mobile app to streamline the process of reporting faulty street lights. The initiative aims to fast-track repairs and improve night-time safety across the city. Residents can now lodge complaints about damaged, flickering, or non-functional street lights through the newly launched "GNIDA Street Lights" app, available on the Google Play Store. Users must log in with their mobile numbers and can select from complaint categories such as "light not glowing", "flickering", or "light glowing during the day". They are also required to enter the pole number and area for accurate location tagging. The app includes options to report related issues such as tilted poles, damaged junction boxes, and sagging overhead cables. Once a complaint is registered, GNIDA aims to resolve it within 48 hours. Public cooperation is crucial in maintaining city infrastructure. A small complaint can help restore safety to an entire stretch of road," a senior GNIDA official said. Manish Kumar, a resident of Supertech Eco Village 1, said street lights along the central verge from the Greater Noida metro depot to Junpat police chowki have not been working.
