Stunning home at private golf club in Arizona sells on first day for nearly $7 million
The Jay Morrish-designed Pine Canyon Golf Club in Flagstaff, Arizona, completed a $6.4 million renovation last August and some new lots also went on the market.
This new home that was just purchased is a five-bedroom, six-bathroom stunner that sits along the golf course's fifth hole. It is 5,900 square feet and its best features are the views of the golf course and surrounding mountains, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows and multiple patios. It's the first home by Two Hawks Design & Development, which purchased eight lots, so expect more stunners to come online soon. The Ranch Mine was the architectural firm for this house.
"The rapid sale of this home is a testament to its beauty, functionality and elevated architecture and design," Compass Agent Larissa Hoss said in a statement. "The buyer knew this home wouldn't last and took immediate action to lock it down."
Pine Canyon first opened in 1994. It ranks tied for 13th in Arizona on the Golfweek's Best 2025: Top private golf courses in every state list, which was released in June.

Michigan legislators, mayors propose $800M plan for new, renovated housing
LANSING — Michigan Municipal League members and a group of bipartisan state legislators are pushing to carve out $160 million a year in the state budget to incentivize cities to make zoning and other changes to help build more houses. Lansing Mayor Andy Schor said his city has made many of the recommended changes already, including reducing mandated parking spaces for developments, changing to form-based city codes that look primarily at how the building fits into the city rather than what goes on inside and allowing for alternative dwelling units, like tiny homes. The plan has yet to be adopted by state legislators, who have not yet finishing negotiating this year's state budget. Schor said if the Legislature adopts the Municipal League's plan, he expects Lansing would qualify for the funds, which would be up to $100,000 for a new home or $30,000 to make repairs, up to 30% of the repair costs. The idea is to incentivize more than 10,000 new homes over five years of the plan, said Dan Gilmartin, executive director and CEO of the Michigan Municipal League. He said the proposal mirrors one adopted by Ohio as well as a plan that is getting unanimous support from a federal Senate banking committee. If the plan is adopted at $160 million a year, it would mean $800 million over five years, impacting up to 2,000 homes a year. The MML's proposals outline a number of suggested local zoning reforms or other changes and would offer financial incentives, up to $100,000 for a new home, to reimburse communities and developers, said Jennifer Rigterink, assistant director of state and federal affairs for the League. The plan is designed to preempt efforts by the state Legislature to have state-wide zoning reforms, said state Rep. Mark Tisdel, R-Rochester Hills. Tisdel described the MML's offer as a "carrot," rather than the stick of code enforcement, that would help communities adopt changes by offering financing help for projects that qualify. The League's list of options is like a menu and the money would be available for communities that adopt half of the reforms. That means that the cities, village and townships in state Rep. Samantha Steckloff's district - she's a Farmington Hills Democrat - would be able to say no many of the reforms but still be able to get the incentives. Steckloff said having the option of adapting the reforms and rejecting some of them will help gain the support of a variety of communities, from rural to urban and wealthy to struggling. The proposal would include: MI Home Readiness: $5 million a year for incentive grants to help communities change their zoning ordinances to encourage more development. MI Home Grant: $95 million in the first two years, increasing to $145 million for the last three years, and used for grants to fill funding gaps in housing development or rehab projects. MI Home Fund: $50 million in the first two years to create a revolving loan fund that can use grant money to fund gaps in housing development or rehab projects. MI Home Employer: $10 annually to continue the Employer-Assisted Housing Fund The money would go toward projects that are sold or rented to people making 120% or less of the area's median income and must be kept at those attainable prices for at least a decade. Brian Farkas, director of workforce housing for Allen Edwin Homes, said his company typically builds about 850 homes a year in Michigan but has recently pledged to increase that by 30%, using existing incentives like tax-in-lieu of fees. Over a decade, that means around 2,500 more homes, he said. If the MML's proposal is adopted, Farkas said he expects Allen Edwin Homes would ramp up their production "further and faster." PGA Tour 2026 schedule unveiled: Trump gets back in picture with Doral event
ATLANTA – President Donald Trump is back in business with the PGA Tour in 2026. The Tour announced its schedule for next year on Tuesday and it includes a return to Trump Doral's Blue Monster near Miami in May for a new signature event to be called – for now – the Miami Championship. It is being announced without a title sponsor but Golfweek sources say one is expected to be announced in the coming months, well before the tournament. Doral was a longtime PGA Tour stop Doral was a longtime Tour host until it was dumped from the schedule in 2016 when title sponsor Cadillac elected to end ties with the Tour and the tournament and a replacement couldn't be found there. Instead, the Tour moved the event south of the border, which became the VidantaWorld Mexico Open. With the introduction of the Miami Championship to the regular season schedule, the Mexico Open will now be contested as part of the FedEx Cup Fall. One event has dropped off the schedule: the Barracuda Championship in Truckee, Calif., which has been played opposite the British Open in recent years. Trump courses have been used on multiple occasions for LIV Golf events, including at Trump Doral. The President attempted to help negotiations between the Tour and LIV on two occasions earlier this year but nothing came to fruition. More: Schupak: PGA Tour considers taking Tour Championship on the road, a home run of an idea The return to Doral's Blue Monster (April 27-May 3) will mark the 56th playing of a Tour event at the course, which hosted the Tour annually from 1962 to 2016. The Miami Championship gives the Tour nine signature events for 2026, up one from the previous two years. It includes a stretch of two majors and four signature events in a span of seven weeks, beginning with the Masters in April through the PGA Championship in May. [The lone regular event will be the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, a two-man team event.] 'We're excited to showcase the game's greatest players competing at golf's most iconic venues,' said PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp. 'Inspired by our players and fans, we're accelerating the Tour's evolution and ushering in a new era of innovation on and off the course.' Full PGA Tour schedule has adjustments The FedEx Cup regular season features a total of 35 official FedEx Cup events and begins in January with The Sentry (Jan. 5-11) in Maui, Hawaii. Notable adjustments to the schedule include The Genesis Invitational returning to The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California – it was held at Torrey Pines last year due to California wildfires – and the Truist Championship (May 4-10) returning to Quail Hollow Club, after hosting the 2025 PGA Championship. Schedule changes include the Tour spending consecutive weeks in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with THE CJ Cup Byron Nelson (May 18-24) and Charles Schwab Challenge (May 25-31), while the Corales Puntacana Championship (from mid-April to July 13-19) and the Rocket Classic (from late June to July 27-Aug. 2) will shift dates on the calendar. Full details regarding the 2026 FedEx Cup Fall will be announced at a later date.

24/7 Market News: VENU Exceeds Development Demand Expectations Through Ryan LLC Partnership
Active Discussions Now Underway with 38 Municipalities DENVER, Aug. 19, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- a pioneer in digital media dedicated to the swift distribution of financial market news and corporate information, reports that VENU (NYSE American: VENU), a trailblazer in premium hospitality and live entertainment, is now in active discussions with 38 municipalities across the United States regarding the potential development of VENU entertainment campuses, a sharp outperformance relative to original stated targets. When VENU's relationship with Ryan, LLC was first announced, the shared objective was to secure two new development agreements per quarter, a pace the Company believed would reflect healthy and sustainable growth. However, according to VENU's Founder, Chairman & CEO, J.W. Roth, 'Our municipal pipeline now includes 38 communities engaged in conversations about bringing VENU to their area. To accelerate these agreements, we have a strong partnership with industry leader, Ryan. This three-year partnership is tasked with delivering two new municipalities every quarter and, on average, we can expect to add between $150 to $300 million to our balance sheet, with each delivered development agreement.' This is a strong indicator that the market is not only receptive but hungry for what VENU is building. VENU's state-of-the-art hubs for live entertainment are designed to be economic engines, driving tourism, job creation, and cultural impact. The level of inbound interest VENU is receiving is proof that communities are recognizing the value we can deliver. Roth emphasized that not all of the 38 municipal discussions will necessarily lead to finalized agreements, but he framed the engagement level as a powerful signal of the Company's momentum. Initially tasked with securing two new public-private partnership agreements per quarter, the Ryan relationship, announced in April 2025, has far exceeded this goal. Ryan, which focuses on navigating public-private partnership structures and tax incentive strategies, has significantly outperformed expectations and has been a catalyst for accelerating VENU's municipal outreach and development pipeline. Ryan's expertise in structuring public-private partnerships and securing economic incentives has opened doors to an unprecedented number of communities eager to bring VENU's vision to life. The Company projects that each finalized development agreement could add between $150 to $300 million to its balance sheet, further strengthening its financial position. Roth concluded, 'The future that we've been building toward is right in front of us and it's coming fast. We are on pace to add more than $5 billion in completed project value in the next 36 to 48 months and, if Q2 is any sign, we've laid the foundation for things to come.' VENU plans to provide further updates as discussions progress and definitive agreements are reached.
