Eritrea: Vocational Training for Youth in Massawa
The vocational training center of the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers in Massawa has provided training to 162 youths, including 42 females.
The training covered various fields such as electronics, electricity, wood and metal works, computer networking, cooling and heating systems, as well as computer technology.
Eng. Aklilu Asmerom, Vice Director of the training center, stated that the trainees of the 9th round came from all regions of the country and expressed appreciation to all partners who supported the training process.
Highlighting the importance of vocational training in sustainable development, Mr. Tesfay Seium, Head of Technical and Vocational Training at the Ministry of Education, called on the graduates to apply the knowledge they gained in their workplaces and contribute meaningfully to daily operations.
A representative of the trainees noted that the program fostered unity and knowledge-sharing among participants and praised the dedication of the trainers.
Ms. Asmeret Abraha, Governor of the Northern Red Sea Region, emphasized the crucial role of vocational training in advancing economic development. She stated that the current demands require greater effort and commitment, and affirmed the regional administration's support in this endeavor.
At the event, certificates of recognition were awarded to all trainees, while outstanding performers received special awards.
Since its inception, the Massawa Vocational Training Center has provided training to 1,467 workers, including 480 females, as part of its 9th commencement.

Dubai has announced a major road and traffic scheme to upgrade journeys for passengers around Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim and Al Khail Road. Eritrea: Vocational Training for Students of the College of Business and Social Science
A three-month vocational training program has been provided to 305 students, including 94 female students of the Adi-Keih College of Business and Social Science. The training aimed to enhance the students' vocational skills alongside their regular academic education. The training covered video camera operation, video editing, graphic design, computer technology, and satellite dish installation. Dr. Estifanos Hailemariam, Dean of the College, stated that the program is part of a broader effort conducted in collaboration with the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students to nurture competent and visionary youth. Ms. Tigisti Okbai, Secretary of the Union branch at the college, stated that similar vocational training programs have been conducted in the past and will continue in the future. Mr. Meron Abraham, Head of Projects at the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students branch for Higher Education Institutions and Sawa, encouraged the trainees to apply their acquired skills to improve their livelihoods. According to reports, since 2023, vocational training has been provided to 930 students at the Adi-Keih College of Business and Social Science. Eritrea: Hagaz Agricultural and Technical School Graduates Students
Hagaz Agricultural and Technical School has graduated 131 students, including 54 female students, in certificate programs. The students received two years of both theoretical and practical training. The graduates include 32 in Agro-Mechanics, 34 in Animal Science, 31 in Plant Science, and 34 in Water and Soil Conservation and Irrigation Farming. Mr. Melake Berhane, Head of the School, stated that the main objective of the institution is to produce skilled human resources, improve agricultural productivity, combat desertification, ensure food security, create employment opportunities, solve potable water shortages in nearby villages, and meet public demands. He urged the graduates to apply their training to further agricultural development in the country. Mr. Tesfay Seium, Director General of Technical and Vocational Training at the Ministry of Education, encouraged the graduates to apply their knowledge practically and become exemplary in their workplace. A representative of the graduates expressed gratitude for the training and affirmed their readiness to contribute to agricultural development in the country. During the event, awards were presented to outstanding students. Hagaz Agricultural and Technical School, established in 1999, has so far graduated 3,346 students.
