Jordan, Kuwait sign six cooperation agreements in several sectors
The agreements encompass several sectors, including tourism, culture, higher education, scientific research, labor mobility, and diplomatic collaboration. Specifically, the two sides signed an executive program for tourism cooperation covering the years 2025 to 2027, as well as an executive program for cultural and artistic cooperation for the period 2025 to 2028. In the field of higher education and scientific research, an executive program was agreed upon to enhance collaboration between Jordan's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its Kuwaiti counterpart for the years 2025 to 2030.
Furthermore, the two countries concluded an executive program regulating labor movement between Jordan and Kuwait, and an agreement exempting holders of diplomatic passports from entry visa requirements. A memorandum of understanding was also signed between Jordan's Diplomatic Institute under the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs and the Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Kuwaiti Diplomatic Institute under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The King also highlighted Jordan's highly skilled workforce and efforts to prepare young people to meet the needs of the labour market by promoting education, vocational training, and upskilling in various fields such as engineering, industry, energy, ICT, and healthcare. The forum included three sessions at which Jordan's economic and investment strategies were discussed, and experiences of a number of investors were showcased. Attendees included US specialists in the investment sector, and representatives of Jordanian companies. CalPERS is the largest public pension fund in the United States, with its investment office managing more than $500 billion in assets, in the US and abroad.

According to a statement by ministry spokesperson Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Qudah, the ministry's operations center, in coordination with the Jordanian Embassy in Moscow, has been closely monitoring the case. Preliminary information indicates that the students were detained for allegedly obtaining forged academic documents from an individual residing in Russia, who is not a Jordanian national. Russian authorities have confirmed to the Jordanian embassy that the person responsible for fabricating the documents has been arrested. Ambassador Qudah emphasized that the case remains under investigation. The goal is to ensure that spokespersons possess the necessary competence and media qualifications to represent institutions effectively. He stated that media spokespersons across ministries and government bodies will fall under the direct technical supervision of the Ministry of Government Communication. The proposed system or guidelines will also ensure that annual performance evaluations are carried out in collaboration with the Minister of State for Public Sector Modernization and the Competency Center at the Civil Service Bureau, reviewing media performance and strategic communication plans to improve coordination between ministries and the communication ministry. He stressed the importance of linking evaluations to achievements and the quality of media plans, ensuring continuous monitoring of spokesperson performance and strengthening their capacities—ultimately enhancing the institutions' public image and communication effectiveness.
