The 19-year-old currently plies his trade with Djurgarden in the Swedish top flight.
Kosugi has played 48 times for the club over the past year and more. They reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Conference League last season, only to be knocked out by eventual winners and recently crowned world champions, Chelsea.
It was reported at the end of May that Celtic were one of a number of clubs interested in a move for Kosugi.
He has since spoken on his future, with Djurgarden currently midway through their season: "Something could happen," he told fotbollsthlm.se.

Celtic have already secured the services of one Japanese player this summer in the form of Hayato Inamura.
Striker Shin Yamada is set to be the next, with him recently saying his goodbyes to Kawasaki Frontale ahead of a move to Parkhead: "When I played against Kashima Antlers (on July 6), it had already been decided," he told local media.
"Yes (I was emotional), Taiki (Yamada) was there too, and players came to see me too. It had already been decided at that time.
"I feel like I've become more emotional! I definitely feel like I cry more easily.
"Today was a game, however, so I had mixed emotions. I was a bit embarrassed to be speaking in front of everyone there, so the tears didn't come."
Yamada continued: "When I joined Kawasaki Frontale, I had a desire to go overseas. I thought that if I didn't make that decision, I wouldn't be able to get any closer to my goal of participating in the World Cup and winning it in Japan. So that's the decision I came to.
"Of course, there are a lot of things that happen... I was hesitant... But I had no doubts about going (to Celtic)."

Scotland defender Aaron Hickey has made his return to senior first team football after a 636-days absence, playing 45 minutes of Brentford's 1-1 pre-season draw with Gil Vicente in Portugal at the weekend. The former Hearts full-back has endured an injury-plagued last 20 months, with the £17million signing out of action since picking up a debilitating hamstring injury during the Bees' 2-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge all the way back in October 2023. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Expected to miss just months with the problem, he was forced to undergo further surgery in order fully repair his hamstring tendon in August 2024. Ruled out of Scotland's squad for the European Championships in Germany last summer, he hasn't featured for the national team since the memorable 2-0 qualifying win over Spain at Hampden Park close to two years ago. However, the 23-year-old's injury hell now looks to be coming to a timely end, with Scotland's opening World Cup qualifying clash against Denmark arriving in just over five weeks time. Scotland international Aaron Hickey has handed Steve Clarke a huge boost after returning to senior action at the weekend. | SNS Group 'It's been very difficult,' Hickey told Brentford's official social media channel. 'Thankfully now I am here back playing with the boys, you can't beat it. It's one of the best feelings. I feel like just getting stuck right back into it is part of my game, like I said, I'm just looking forward to started again. It feels amazing to be back out there with the boys. I've had a good few sessions over here [Portugal], getting fit and stuff, so just looking forward to starting the season.' Set to play under a new manager this season, Hickey says he is excited to work under new Brentford head coach Keith Andrews, who was appointed at the Gtech Community Stadium earlier this month following the departure of Thomas Frank to Tottenham Hotspur. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'I have found it really enjoyable,' said Hickey. 'The sessions have been good. The intensity is slowing getting back into it. This has helped us today, match minutes. The coaches have came in, Keith [Andrews] is doing a good job keeping the boys on their toes, and not slacking off. Continuing to do what we did.' Hickey also detailed the 'close' relationship he shares with former Hearts midfielder Neil MacFarlane, who has been promoted to the role of assistant first team coach after six seasons in charge of the London club's B team. The 47-year-old, who combines his role at Brentford with being the head coach of Scotland's under-19s, played over 70 league games at Tynecastle during the mid-2000s, and the Scotland defender revealed why MacFarlane will be key in getting him back to his best. 'I'm close with Neil,' said Hickey. 'He's a really good coach. He's really good for me, we have good one-to-one chats. He's definitely going to help me. For me, being back playing with this squad, doing well, winning matches - that's my aim, and hopefully I score a few goals.' Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad

Rude wash-bag message from boss helped inspire England to Euro glory

The Lionesses defended the title they first won three years ago at Wembley with a 3-1 penalty shootout victory over world champions Spain in Basel after extra time ended in a 1-1 draw. It was revenge for their 1-0 loss to the same side in the 2023 World Cup final, but required a campaign of crazy comebacks and must-win victories in every match following their opening loss to France. 'Sarina had a certain little way of motivating us,' said Mead, after the Lionesses became the first English football team to secure a major trophy on foreign soil. 'It was great, it was funny, it was everything. She did it again tonight. 'She had a little toiletry bag that said b****** get s*** done, and b****** got s*** done today. That is it, drop the mic.' Mead's Arsenal team-mate Mariona Caldentey opened the scoring for Spain in the 25th minute, ensuring England would require a third consecutive comeback to make it back-to-back European titles and seal a third straight for Wiegman, who lifted the same trophy with the Netherlands in 2017. Alessia Russo nodded home Chloe Kelly's cross after the break to ultimately force a shootout, then sealed by substitute Kelly's emphatic top-corner spot kick. Kelly's winner was the best birthday present imaginable for major tournament debutant Aggie Beever-Jones, who turned 22 on Sunday and was serenaded by supporters who sang 'Happy Birthday' during the final. 'It's such an incredible tournament, back-to-back champions,' she said. 'The girls have done a brilliant job. I couldn't have had a better birthday than this. What a present! This will be the best day of my life. I can't quite believe it.' Mead added: 'It's what dreams are made of, Ags!'
