Three batters getting over 150 runs each in an innings is a magnificent milestone achieved by New Zealand; a feat achieved by them for the first time in Test history.
The Kiwis set Bulawayo's Queens Sports Club ablaze with some astonishing batting performances against Zimbabwe in the second and last Test of the ongoing 2-match series. The trio of Devon Conway, Henry Nicholls and Rachin Ravindra smashed 150-plus scores each to hand New Zealand a mammoth lead of 476 runs in the first innings of the Test match.
Convay scored 153 off 245 deliveries before Blessing Muzarabani knocked over the opener. Henry Nicholls (150*) and Rachin Ravindra (165*) returned unbeaten at stumps as New Zealand posted 601 for 3.
A Historic Landmark
Three batters getting over 150 runs each in an innings is a magnificent milestone achieved by New Zealand; a feat achieved for the first time in Test history. They are only the third side in the world, after England (in 1938) and India (In 1986), to reach this historic landmark in the longest format of the game.
Three Batters With 150-Plus In Same Innings
It was another day of one-sided cricket after the Black Caps resumed on 174 for one, already 49 runs ahead. Zimbabwe took an hour to dismiss nightwatchman Jacob Duffy, who made 36. Only one more wicket fell throughout the day, that of Conway.
Nicholls was on 64 when Ravindra joined him following Conway's dismissal. Ravindra, a left-hander like the other two centurions, quickly went on the attack and by the end of the day had overtaken his partner.
Ravindra reached his century off 104 balls. Despite having a significant lead, stand-in captain Mitchell Santner chose not to declare, allowing Ravindra to add another 65 runs off just 35 balls towards the close.
Muzarabani took one for 101 in 24 overs, while Chivanga conceded 94 runs off 17 overs without taking a wicket. Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine used seven bowlers in a futile attempt to stop the flow of runs on a day when New Zealand scored 427 runs for the loss of two wickets.

Rafael Nadal & Wife Maria Welcome Their Second Child, Baby Boy Named Miquel

Last Updated: Rafael Nadal and wife Maria have welcomed their second child, Miquel, named after Maria's late father. Ace Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal has become a father for the second time, after he and his wife Maria welcomed a baby boy named Miquel on Thursday, at the same clinic where his first son Rafa Jr was born, with reports of the good news surfacing only two days later. Nadal and his wife Maria left the hospital with their newborn son on Saturday, August 9, after days of family visits and congratulations from loved ones since Thursday. Miquel's name holds deep importance for Nadal and Maria, as it was the latter's late father's name. He passed away in April 2023 at the age of 63 after a prolonged illness. Nadal, a 22-time major champion, married Maria Perello on October 19, 2019, in a ceremony at Sa Fortalesa, an estate in the Mallorcan town of Pollensa. Three years later, on October 8, 2022, Nadal and Maria welcomed their first child, Rafa Jr. One of Nadal and Maria's most recent pictures with their elder son was taken during the tribute Nadal received at Roland Garros, where, in addition to his record 14 titles, he now has a plaque bearing his name on the clay of the Philippe Chatrier Court. Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev, who exited Wimbledon in the first round, spent the final weeks of July battling mental burnout and visited Nadal's Mallorca academy, seeking consultations and some career advice during his break from the tour. Zverev, the top seed at the ATP Toronto Masters, drew confidence from the unique insights he received from Nadal. Zverev revealed in July in Toronto that he had sought both advice and a new coach, travelling to Mallorca to visit Nadal's training academy on the Spaniard's home island. Although he was unable to bag Nadal's uncle Toni as his travelling coach, Zverev did get the opportunity to speak with Nadal. The elder Nadal has coached Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime after spending the majority of his career guiding his legendary nephew. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. " Woakes Hai Kya Tu?": Shreyas Iyer Takes Hilarious Dig At England Pacer In Video With PBKS Teammate

Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer was recently seen enjoying a game of indoor cricket at his apartment alongside his 2025 IPL teammate Shashank Singh. The duo engaged in round two of light-hearted Super Over challenge, with Iyer needing to survive 6 balls against Shashank's bowling. IPL 2025 was a memorable season for the Kings as they made it to the Playoffs and the final after a hiatus of 11 years. However, they lost against Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six runs in the summit clash. In the video posted on Instagram, the friendly contest began with Shashank briefing his skipper on the field setup. The conversation between the duo went on as follows: Shashank: "Yeh bhi out nahin hai?" (This is not out either?) Shreyas: "Sirf appreciate kar, six hai yeh. (Juat appreciate, it's a six.) Shashank then warned him:"Ab aayega short ball." (The short ball is up next.) Iyer humorously asked Shashank, "Woakes hai kya tu?" (Are you Woakes), when he mentioned about bowling a short ball. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Punjab Kings (@punjabkingsipl) For the unversed, England pacer Chris Woakes troubled India batters with his short deliveries in the recently-concluded five-match Test series. The Punjab kings franchise shared the entertaining video on Instagram, showcasing the fun bonding session between the two teammates. Talking about Iyer, the ignored India star is reportedly set to make a comeback in the international team from the Asia Cup 2025, which will kick-start from September 9. Shreyas Iyer was India's top-scorer in the Champions Trophy (243 in 5 matches) win. Though, the Punjab Kings captain has represented India in all formats, currently he only plays in ODIs. "We need Iyer's class and experience in the middle order in all formats. It's something which we missed in England during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. The selectors are aware that Iyer is an excellent player of spin bowling, which will be crucial in a home season that involves four Tests - two each against West Indies and South Africa," sources told TOI.

Sanju Samson Breaks Silence On Leaving Rajasthan Royals: 'It Really Means...'

Last Updated: Amid the rumours of parting ways with Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson broke his silence on his bonding with the franchise. People have been keen to know about Sanju Samson's future with Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) ever since the news about his split with the franchise surfaced. If a few media reports are to be believed, the wicketkeeper-batter from Kerala has expressed his desire to part ways with Rajasthan Royals, whereas Chennai Super Kings are willing to have him via an all-cash deal. Amid all the rumours and speculations, Samson broke his silence on his bonding with the Royals. In a conversation with Ravichandran Ashwin in the latter's YouTube podcast, 'Kutti Stories', the Kerala cricketer explained how his association with RR changed his life. 'RR has meant the world to me. A small child coming from a village in Kerala, wanting to show his talent. And then Rahul sir and Manoj Badale sir gave me a stage to get up and show the world what I am made of. That time, they trusted me throughout. The journey with RR has been really great, and I'm very grateful to have been in a franchise like that. It really means a lot to me," Sanju told Ashwin. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive.
