Ram Kapoor opens up about on how rich TV stars are; says 'Ronit Roy has vacation homes, Sakshi Tanwar has saved for generations'
, who is one of the popular names of the television industry and has been part of successful shows like Kasamh Se, Bade Acche Lagte Hain, recently opened up about the money television actors make by working in daily soaps.
During a podcast with Humans of Bombay, Ram pointed out that the income made from successful television shows has the potential to secure the future of several generations. However, he also highlighted that careless handling of finances can result in a downfall in one's professional journey.
He said, "When you make it to the top like
Ronit Roy
, Sakshi, and me, and you are sensible with your investments… There were a lot of people who had hit shows, but they spent more money than they should have, and when that show shut down they didn't get another show.
They did not do well and disappeared."
The Udaan actor also appreciated fellow actor Ronit Roy for making wise and thoughtful investments, 'People like a Ronit… he has a lot of houses, vacation homes, and such a fantastic villa in Goa. He has been sensible because he started in films and he didn't make it in films. He was a flop actor in films and he didn't have money to eat. Then Ektaa Kapoor took him on. On television, he never looked back.
He had seen failure so when he got success, he respected it from day one," he said.
Not just Ronit Roy, Ram also mentioned about
Sakshi Tanwar
's simple and sensible way of living. He said, 'Same for Sakshi. She is a very sensible girl. She doesn't like fancy cars like I do. She has enough money for six generations because she spends it very wisely. If you spend money wisely, then you will have money for a lot of things on television."
Ram Kapoor began his acting journey on television with the show Nyaay in 1999. Over the years, he appeared in several popular serials such as Heena, Ghar Ek Mandir, Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai, and the widely loved Bade Acche Lagte Hain. Apart from television, he has also been part of Bollywood films including Karthik Calling Karthik, Agent Vinod, Student of the Year, and Humshakals.
Ronit Roy thanks Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar for timely payments to his security agency during pandemic

Ram Kapoor says he ‘didn't have long to live' had he continued like he used to, doctor told him ‘tu mar jayega'
Actor Ram Kapoor opened up about his decision to get healthy, and said that he once weighed 140 kgs. The actor also addressed rumours that he has been using the controversial drug Ozempic, or one of its variants, and said that he hasn't. In an interview, Ram said that a stern warning from his doctor pushed him towards a healthy lifestyle, and revealed that he was told he wouldn't live long if he continued down the path he was on. He has now lost considerable weight, but was recently embroiled in a controversy over making inappropriate remarks during the press tour of his new show, Mistry. Appearing on Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa's podcast, he spoke about his drastic weight loss. 'Try maintaining a weight of 140 kgs, it's not easy,' he joked, as his co-star Mona Singh recalled memories of him eating an entire KFC bucket by himself. 'To become (thinner), you have to change your mindset completely. And when your mindset changes, every day you measure how much water you've had, how much you've slept, how much you've exercised,' he said. Also read – Ram Kapoor reveals how he got 'richer and richer', says 'you'll have more money than you can imagine' with right investments: 'Double your money every 3 years' Ram recalled the poor health he was in only two years ago. 'When I was shooting Neeyat in Scotland, I was at my worst. I was taking insulin shots thrice a day, before every meal. I was 140 kgs, and my sugar was at ridiculous heights. My doctor told me that I'm working so much and I'm so unhealthy, I could have a diabetic stroke. That's how unhealthy I was. I had to do a transformation, otherwise I would not have long to live.' He said that he promised his son that he would start taking better care of himself when he turned 50, and he won't stop until he gets six-pack abs. 'When I started this journey, I said that I want to reach the peak of health. I want to be the best that I can be. I'm still a work in progress. I want to set the best example for my son. If I want him to be healthy, I have to be healthy.' Ram said that it was a risk to change his appearance so drastically, because audiences accepted him the way he was for 25 years. 'A doctor told me that I would have to start Ozempic or Monjaro because of the bad shape I was in. I would've had a diabetic stroke otherwise. If I had not gotten fit, I would have 100% taken it, because I trust my doctor. He looks after my entire family, he's a friend. He said, 'You have two options, you either change yourself, or tu mar jayega (you will die)'.' Ram Kapoor admitted to making inappropriate comments during the press tour for Mistry, and said that he wouldn't have spoken in an objectionable manner had he been told that it was wrong. Reacting to the controversy, his television colleague Sudhanshu Pandey said that making such statements is a sign of mental imbalance.
