Liam and Noel ‘staying in separate hotels' on Oasis tour

Telegraph12 hours ago
Noel and Liam Gallagher stayed at different hotels 20 miles apart on the first two nights of the Oasis reunion tour, it has been claimed.
The Oasis frontmen put years of mutual animosity behind them to perform together in Cardiff on Friday and Saturday to 75,000 fans at the Principality Stadium.
After the gigs ended, however, the brothers travelled to separate hotels, MailOnline reported.
When Oasis's two-hour long gig ended on Friday night, Liam left the stage immediately and got into a black SUV. Noel, meanwhile, remained on the stage and waved to fans before walking off with the rest of the band.
Liam, 52, is said to have booked the Celtic Manor Resort, which is located on the edge of Newport.
Meanwhile, Noel, 58, stayed at the Parkgate Hotel, a four-star venue next to the Principality Stadium.
Last month, the hotel suggested on TikTok it might be hosting one of the brothers. 'Rumour has it a certain rock 'n' roll star is checking in ahead of the big gig at the Principality,' a spokesman said at the time.
He is said to have stayed at the hotel with his daughter, Anaïs Gallagher, a 25-year-old model who also attended the gig.
It is unclear whether the brothers' separate hotel bookings were down to tensions in the band.
'The atmosphere was absolutely electric and Liam and Noel were delighted with the first night,' a source told The Sun on Sunday.
'They were a bit shell-shocked. It went better than anyone could have imagined. The lead-up has all been carefully orchestrated, as everyone knows how delicate and fragile Liam and Noel's relationship is.
'They don't want to over-expose themselves to each other. Having separate residences is the best option so they can relax in their own space.'
Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, however, another source said: 'They can't stand each other because they still have not forgiven each other. It's all very frosty and awkward. We all doubt they'll make it to Australia at this rate.'
As the show began shortly after 8pm, the Gallagher brothers walked onstage side-by-side before clasping their hands together in the air.
For the rest of the set, however, the pair stood about 30ft apart and interacted little.
Oasis broke up in 2009 after a backstage altercation between Noel and Liam at the Rock en Seine festival near Paris.
In the years since, the former bandmates traded insults in public, with Liam deriding his brother as a 'potato'.
Last August, they announced that 'the guns have fallen silent' and that they would reform to play a tour in 2025.
Its 41 sold-out shows will see the band appear in Britain, America, Australia and South America. According to analysis by Birmingham City University, it could make Oasis £400 million from ticket sales and merchandise.

Liam Gallagher's real name is not Liam as Oasis make triumphant return after 16 years

Liam Gallagher returned to the stage over the weekend with his brother Noel, but many fans may be surprised that his real name is not in fact Liam. The Oasis star, 52, reunited after 16 years with his older brother for their new tour which kick started in Cardiff on Friday and Saturday. However, as fans chanted for Liam and Noel many clearly didn't realise that Liam is only a nickname. It turns out that the Wonderwall singers real name is William John Paul Gallagher. His Irish parents Thomas and Peggy apparently opted to raise him as a Liam, seeing as that's an Irish shortening of the moniker. The singer's middle names John and Paul are an obvious Beatles tribute, which is no surprise considering Liam and brother Noel's obvious adoration for the Liverpudlian music legends. Liam and Noel, 58, walked out on stage holding hands again for night two of their long-awaited reunion tour in Cardiff. Fans of the iconic band were blown away on the first night, which kicked off on Friday, as they reunited after 16 years and delivered an electrifying set, packed with energy and nostalgia. On Saturday night, Noel and Liam continued their display of unity as they held hands during their entrance. The thousands of fans cheered as the brothers took to the stage, with Liam letting go of Noel's hand to bow down to him. More than 75,000 fans gathered at Cardiff's Principality Stadium for the first night of the long-awaited Oasis reunion tour. And as history was made with Noel and brother Liam appearing on stage together for the first time in over a decade, fans couldn't contain their love and excitement. Liam and Noel are also taking extreme measures throughout their legendary Oasis reunion tour by staying apart to avoid another rift. It's claimed they are staying in separate hotels half an hour away from each other. 'Having separate residences is the best option so they can relax in their own space,' they told The Sun. 'They stayed in separate locations outside the city around half an hour away from each other.' The brothers are 'happy families at the moment' and reportedly want to keep it that way. They have had a lifestyle overhaul, with Liam coming off the booze and 'sounding better.' It's claimed he wants 'eight hours of sleep every night' and they're avoiding partying completely to make it work. Daily Mail has reached out to Liam and Noel's reps for comment. Kicking off the show, Liam and Noel walked out with their arms around each other in a sweet display of unity, before they proudly gazed on at the crowds, who erupted into rounds of deafening applause. As the masses gathered on Friday, Liam said: 'Manchester vibes in the area,' before he kicked off the show with Hello, which served as the opening track for their 1995 classic 'What's The Story (Morning Glory). They then went into Acquiesce - a song from their first 1995 album, which was followed by the iconic Morning Glory - the titular song of the second studio album. Liam shouted out: 'Yes beautiful people! It's been too long.' He then ordered the crowd to 'turn around and bounce' ahead of Cigarettes and Alcohol. After performing Some Might Say, Bring It On Down and Fade Away, Liam went off for a rest, while Noel performed his acoustic version of Talk Tonight. Then Noel appeared emotional as he performed Half The World Away and even stopped singing for a few bars at one point. Liam later said: 'Are you having a good time?' before addressing the ticket chaos: 'Was it worth the £40,000 you paid for the ticket.' Tickets were meant to start at £74.25 for seated tickets at their Wembley shows, with the most expensive ticket being a £506.25 pre-show party. Throughout their various sets, poignant pictures of the family's home in Manchester flashed up on the screen along with baby pictures of both brothers. Old black and white pictures of their mum Peggy and dad Tommy were also flashed in the screen from time to time as Stand By Me played. The brothers ended the show with Rock n Roll, but fans cheers for an encore, with the pair strolling back out, with two of their fan favourite hits still to come. The crowds went wild as they belted out Wonderwall and the brothers became very emotional as they began to close down the show. 'Thanks for putting up with us over the years. We're hard work. We get it,' Liam gushed. They then rounded off their first gig in 16 years with legendary track Champagne Supernova.
