Mouse-terious prankers delight at Kwinana Marketplace
The sight of a small hatchback parked at the shopping centre wrapped completely in cling wrap delighted shoppers at the weekend.
The harmless prank was complete with the addition of a set of Mickey Mouse's signature smile, nose, eyes and, of course, the iconic mouse ears.
A photo of the car was posted on social media, where it received thousands of reactions.
'That's not a car … that's clearly Mickey's long-lost cousin 'Mick-Auto' out for a late-night grocery run! Whoever did this deserves a standing ovation and a permanent spot in the Kwinana Hall of Fame!' one commenter wrote.
'They're taking the Mickey!' another added.
'They'll be 'wrapped' to see their car,' a third joked.
Commenters shared the car's new look was the creative work of night-fill colleagues from Big W.
But the Sound Telegraph can reveal this prank war goes back to at least 2022.
Photos shared in April of that year show the same car wrapped in cling wrap, but this time decorated with an Easter theme. The Easter version from 2022. Credit: Facebook
The car sported festive bunny ears, rabbit teeth, a cute bunny tail and helium balloons.
But we'd also love to know more! Email editor@soundtelegraph.com.au if you know the lore behind the Big W prank war.

'The Life of a Showgirl': Taylor Swift announces 12th studio album
Look what you made her do - Taylor Swift has announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. Swift announced the album on her website shortly after a countdown timer expired at 12:12 a.m. Tuesday. No release date was announced, but her site said vinyl editions of the album would ship before Oct. 13. Fans have long theorised that Swift's 12th album would soon arrive. On Monday, Taylor Nation - an official branch of the pop superstar's marketing team - posted a TikTok slide show of 12 images with the caption "Thinking about when she said 'See you next era...'" Swift is seen wearing orange in every image. A special limited vinyl edition of the album will be released in "Portofino orange glitter," according to a pre-order page on her site. A special cassette edition is also available for pre-order. Sensing a pattern, eagle-eyed fans noticed that 12 minutes earlier, the popular New Heights podcast posted a tease for Wednesday. The show, hosted by Swift's boyfriend and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce alongside his brother, former Eagles centre Jason Kelce, posted an orange image on social media with a mysterious silhouette, many believing it to be Swift. The podcast announced early Tuesday that Swift would appear on New Heights and a teaser video posted about her appearance showed her pulling the album from a briefcase. The actual album artwork, just as it is on her website, is blurred. The Life of a Showgirl follows last year's The Tortured Poets Department, announced during the 2024 Grammys and released during her record-breaking tour, which raked in over $2.2 billion across two years and five continents, making it the highest-grossing tour of all time. The album is also her first release since Swift regained control over her entire body of work. In May, that pop star said she purchased her catalog of recordings - originally released through Big Machine Records - from their most recent owner, the private equity firm Shamrock Capital. She did not disclose the amount. In recent years, Swift has been rerecording and releasing her first six albums in an attempt to regain control of her music. The project was instigated by Hybe America CEO Scooter Braun's purchase and sale of her early catalogue and represents Swift's effort to control her own songs and how they're used. Previous "Taylor's Version" releases have been more than conventional re-recordings, arriving with new "from the vault" music, Easter eggs and visuals that deepen understanding of her work. So far, there have been four rerecorded albums, beginning with Fearless (Taylor's Version) and Red (Taylor's Version) in 2021. All four have been massive commercial and cultural successes, each one debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Swift's last re-recording, 1989 (Taylor's Version), arrived in October 2023, just four months after the release of Speak Now (Taylor's Version). That was the same year Swift claimed the record for the woman with the most No. 1 albums in history. Celebrate Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl era with beauty picks inspired by her sparkling orange aesthetic
Taylor Swift sent the internet spiralling, again. At exactly 12:12am ET, she announced her highly anticipated twelfth album, The Life of a Showgirl, sprinkling the reveal with enough Easter eggs to keep even the most seasoned Swiftie in detective mode until album release day. While the official date is still under wraps, the mood is clear — we've entered the orange glitter era. It's giving main character energy with a side of sequins, and whether you're deep in the fandom or just Swiftie-adjacent, you can channel it right now. To celebrate this new era, I've gone on a treasure hunt worthy of a Swift bridge key change to find the beauty products that capture this tangerine-tinted sparkle. Think of it as a pre-game before the inevitable album drop. Orange you glad you can wear it now? The star of the show is the OPI Infinite Shine Gel-Like Lacquer in Dreamsicle for $26, a limited edition shade that instantly screamed 'album landing page' when I saw it. It's a juicy, sheer orange that shimmers with a candied finish — sweet enough to tempt you into biting your nails (don't, obviously). It's buildable, giving you the choice between a subtle sheer or a bolder, more showgirl-worthy coat. And because we're talking OPI, the Pro-Wide brush means smooth, streak-free application every time. Chip, stain and scratch resistance? Consider it your Fortnight of flawless nails. If you're ready to take things up a notch, the OPI'm Dreaming collection is like a pastel daydream with press-ons that lock into place for up to 11 days without a single light-cure lamp in sight. It's the kind of polish that says 'I'm ready for the stage' but also 'I've got a full day of life admin to do', a very Taylor balance between spectacle and groundedness. Other ways to sparkle in the orange era If orange nails feel too bold for your 9-to-5, you can still play along with the album aesthetic through more subtle touches: tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump Shimmer Glass, $46 DIOR Mono Couleur Couture High-Colour Eyeshadow, $58 Sephora Collection About That Shine Sheer Shine Lipstick, $26 Haus Labs by Lady Gaga Bio-Radiant™ Gel-Powder Highlighter, $69 Sephora Collection Glitter Power Multi-Use Shadows Wand Trio was $29, now $14 Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Stix Shimmer Lipstick, $39 Ole Henriksen Pout Preserve Peptide Lip Treatment (Limited Edition Peach Glaze), $29 Rare Beauty Positive Light Luminizing Lip Gloss, $36 Patrick Ta Major Headlines Double-Take Creme & Powder Blush, $68 Haus Labs by Lady Gaga PhD Hybrid Lip (Secondary), $43 Whether you're decoding lyrics, prepping for the inevitable stadium tour or just enjoying the spectacle, these little touches will have you looking album-ready long before release day. In the meantime, keep your notifications on — history tells us that if Taylor's started with orange glitter, we're in for a ride.

Taylor Swift teases new era with cryptic countdown
Taylor Swift seems to be gearing up for a major announcement, and all signs point to her twelfth studio album. The 35-year-old pop superstar's website has transformed, now featuring a shimmering orange backdrop and a countdown timer set to hit zero at exactly 12.12am on August 12 (2.12pm AEST). Currently, the site simply states: 'Expires August 12 at 12.12 ET'. A mysterious countdown has appeared on Taylor Swift's website. Credit: The Nightly Adding fuel to the speculation of an album drop, Swift will appear on the August 13 episode of New Heights, the podcast hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, and his brother Jason. That episode is set to go live at 7pm (local time)— a time that cleverly combines 13/8 and 7pm to form 87 and 13, both meaningful numbers to Kelce and Swift, respectively, and a subtle detail that feels right at home in Swift's long history of cryptic Easter eggs. 'I can't believe this is really happening. I'm shocked she's going back into it so soon, I really thought she'd go back to her every-two-years model after eras. And the podcast??? Like what? Truly never a dull moment being a Taylor Swift fan,' one fan wrote on Reddit. 'New Taylor Swift eras are so exciting ahhh I can't wait,' another wrote. 'There is really no other artist that can send me into full panic mode with countdowns and teasers like this, she has me in a chokehold I swear,' said a third. Swift's 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, dropped last year and marked the biggest Billboard 200 debut of her career, earning her yet another Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. Since wrapping up her historic Eras Tour in December, the pop powerhouse has kept a relatively low profile. However, in May, news broke that Swift had officially regained ownership of the master recordings for her first six albums, which was a major win that sent fans back to streaming her early work and reignited interest in her entire catalogue.
