Celebrate Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl era with beauty picks inspired by her sparkling orange aesthetic
At exactly 12:12am ET, she announced her highly anticipated twelfth album, The Life of a Showgirl, sprinkling the reveal with enough Easter eggs to keep even the most seasoned Swiftie in detective mode until album release day.
While the official date is still under wraps, the mood is clear — we've entered the orange glitter era.
It's giving main character energy with a side of sequins, and whether you're deep in the fandom or just Swiftie-adjacent, you can channel it right now.
To celebrate this new era, I've gone on a treasure hunt worthy of a Swift bridge key change to find the beauty products that capture this tangerine-tinted sparkle.
Think of it as a pre-game before the inevitable album drop.
Orange you glad you can wear it now?
The star of the show is the OPI Infinite Shine Gel-Like Lacquer in Dreamsicle for $26, a limited edition shade that instantly screamed 'album landing page' when I saw it.
It's a juicy, sheer orange that shimmers with a candied finish — sweet enough to tempt you into biting your nails (don't, obviously).
It's buildable, giving you the choice between a subtle sheer or a bolder, more showgirl-worthy coat.
And because we're talking OPI, the Pro-Wide brush means smooth, streak-free application every time.
Chip, stain and scratch resistance? Consider it your Fortnight of flawless nails.
If you're ready to take things up a notch, the OPI'm Dreaming collection is like a pastel daydream with press-ons that lock into place for up to 11 days without a single light-cure lamp in sight.
It's the kind of polish that says 'I'm ready for the stage' but also 'I've got a full day of life admin to do', a very Taylor balance between spectacle and groundedness.
Other ways to sparkle in the orange era
If orange nails feel too bold for your 9-to-5, you can still play along with the album aesthetic through more subtle touches:
tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump Shimmer Glass, $46
DIOR Mono Couleur Couture High-Colour Eyeshadow, $58
Sephora Collection About That Shine Sheer Shine Lipstick, $26
Haus Labs by Lady Gaga Bio-Radiant™ Gel-Powder Highlighter, $69
Sephora Collection Glitter Power Multi-Use Shadows Wand Trio was $29, now $14
Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Stix Shimmer Lipstick, $39
Ole Henriksen Pout Preserve Peptide Lip Treatment (Limited Edition Peach Glaze), $29
Rare Beauty Positive Light Luminizing Lip Gloss, $36
Patrick Ta Major Headlines Double-Take Creme & Powder Blush, $68
Haus Labs by Lady Gaga PhD Hybrid Lip (Secondary), $43
Whether you're decoding lyrics, prepping for the inevitable stadium tour or just enjoying the spectacle, these little touches will have you looking album-ready long before release day.
In the meantime, keep your notifications on — history tells us that if Taylor's started with orange glitter, we're in for a ride.

New Heights podcast: Emotional Taylor Swift reveals new album details for The Life of a Showgirl
Taylor Swift has broken down in tears in an emotional moment on her boyfriend Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast. The pop superstar made her podcasting debut on Wednesday night (US time), during a wide-ranging discussion with Kelce and his brother Jason that included details of her newest album The Life of a Showgirl. During the episode, Swift got particularly emotional when talking about reclaiming her master recordings — a moment she thought about happening every day. Swift fought back tears, and Kelce comforted her as she spoke in depth about the years-long saga and when she sent her mum and brother to LA to negotiate with Shamrock Capital, the owners of her music, on her behalf. She explained how Kelce was playing video games when she found out she had bought the rights back, and the NFL star even started weeping when he was told the news. 'I haven't gotten my hopes up about this in a decade. A couple of months after the Super Bowl I was in Kansas City,' Swift said, adding she had been saving to buy her masters since she was a teenager. 'I get a call from my mum. She's like, 'You got your music.' I very dramatically hit the floor for real. Bawling my eyes out, weeping, like 'Really?' I said to myself 'Go tell Travis in a normal way'. 'He was playing video games, and he put his headset down. I was like 'I got my music back!' And I was heaving crying. This changed my life.' Swift's masters had been owned by Scooter Braun, forcing her to re-record her first six albums as 'Taylor's version', before Braun sold them to Shamrock. Swift said owning her music and the rights to it was very important to her. 'What I was looking to do, though, was I wanted to buy my music outright. I don't want to be in a partnership, I don't want to own 30 per cent of it. I want to own all of it. But it was a long shot to think they would do that,' she said. 'If I never bought back my music, one day someone else will leave all my music to their kids in their will.' As soon as the episode dropped, Swift shared the cover art and release date of October 3. The theme for this album is mint green and orange, and the front cover, designed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, shows Swift immersed in water wearing a sparkly showgirl outfit. The back of the album revealed the 12 tracks, with the last song, the title track, featuring Sabrina Carpenter. She also shared that she co-produced the album with Max Martin and Shellback. Taylor Swift rips on male sports fans in New Heights podcast
Taylor Swift has delivered a cheeky jab to sports fans, just a day after news of her upcoming twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, sent fans into a frenzy. In a short teaser for her much-anticipated debut on New Heights, the podcast hosted by her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his brother Jason, Swift took aim at those who have criticised her appearances at Kelce's NFL games. 'Thanks for having me on my favourite podcast,' the 35-year-old singer told the Kelce brothers. She then added with a smirk: 'As we all know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast, and I think we all know that if there's one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens … it's more of me.' Earlier in the promo, Jason delivered a lengthy and highly enthusiastic introduction for Swift, calling her 'the most-awarded artist in the history of the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and iHeart Radio Music Awards,' while also noting her 14 Grammy wins. 'She is the only artist in the history to win album of the year four times. Last December, she wrapped up the Eras Tour, which spanned 149 shows across 51 cities, five continents. It was the most-attended tour of all time. Of all time! 'Her last album, the Tortured Poet's Department set a record 1.76 billion streams globally within the first week alone. 'Are you ready for it? Making your podcast debut, the most expensive guest in the history of shows – Taylor Swift!' Swift could be seen holding back laughter as he spoke, eventually saying: 'That intro, Jason, oh my God … His soul has left his body. That was so good, that was so sweet.'

Jack Antonoff's wife, Margaret Qualley, awkwardly reacts to Taylor Swift question
Don't miss out on the headlines from TV. Followed categories will be added to My News. Who's afraid of a little old question? Jack Antonoff's wife, Margaret Qualley, had a slightly awkward response to being asked about Taylor Swift's forthcoming album on Wednesday's episode of the US Today show. Toward the end of the interview, co-host Craig Melvin noted that Antonoff, 41, 'has produced for Taylor for years.' The NBC personality, 46, added, 'Perhaps you've heard she's got an album that's coming out. Can you tell us about it?' Margaret Qualley had a slightly awkward response to a question about Taylor Swift's forthcoming album. Qualley, 30, widened her eyes and shook her head before insisting, 'I don't know anything.' The actress shrugged and laughed uncomfortably, concluding, 'I'll be excited to listen to the music.' When Melvin chuckled and said, 'OK. Alright,' she replied, 'OK.' The actress laughed nervously and insisted she doesn't 'know anything' about it. One YouTuber summed up the painful on-air moment, commenting, 'That was very awkward.' Antonoff began working with Swift, 35, in 2013, with the duo collaborating on Lover, Folklore and more of the pop star's records over the years. Most recently, the Bleachers frontman produced several The Tortured Poets Department tracks. Swift has heavily hinted, however, that Antonoff has nothing to do with The Life of a Showgirl. Qualley has been married to Jack Antonoff since The Recording Academy) Antonoff and Swift's partnership began with a 2013 collaboration. Picture:Follow Page Six's Taylor Swift live updates for the latest news, photos, fan theories and more She dropped a major clue that her 12th record would be a major departure when she curated a Spotify playlist immediately after her New Heights album announcement. The 22 tracks on And, baby, that's show business for you are all produced by Max Martin and Shellback, who Swift last worked with on Reputation in 2017. Antonoff and his wife hang out with Swift and Carpenter at the Grammys in February. Picture:Swift attended Qualley and Antonoff's wedding in 2023, reportedly roasting the couple in a 15-minute toast. Picture:Some Swifties celebrated the news, with one gushing, 'no jack antonoff on the new taylor swift album is giving me hope for pre-2021 quality music.' Meanwhile, others praised him, explaining things like, 'Max Martin unlocked Taylor's versatility. … Jack Antonoff unlocked her best vocals and sharpened her songwriting.' One speculated that Swift is trolling her fans, tweeting, 'She's going to release 'The Life of a Showgirl' at midnight followed up by 'The Death of a Showgirl' at 3:00 AM with all of Jack and Aaron [Dessner] songs.' Swift was present — and made a 15-minute speech — when Antonoff and Qualley tied the knot in August 2023 in New Jersey. The couple, who became an item in 2021, have double dated with Swift and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
