Ireland's Lara Gillespie finishes fourth in sprint finish at Vuelta Femenina
The 24-year-old from Wicklow saved one last burst to finish fourth on the 126.7km sixth stage from Becerril de Campos to Baltanás.
Marianna Vos took her second stage win of the week, coming home ahead of Mischa Bredewold and Ally Wollaston.
Demi Vollering retains the red jersey and a 45-second lead in the general classification as she bids for back-to-back Vuelta titles in Saturday's seventh and final stage.

Archie Ryan excited to make Grand Tour debut at Vuelta a Espana: ‘There are going to be loads of opportunities'
Irish riders Eddie Dunbar and Archie Ryan will be on the start line for the Vuelta a Espana when it starts this Saturday in Piedmont, Italy. Ryan, the 23-year-old from Wicklow, will be racing in his first Grand Tour after being selected by his team, EF Education-EasyPost, on a young squad that lacks an obvious leader after the withdrawal of Richard Carapaz due to illness. With 11 summit finishes across the 21 stages, the mountainous Spanish Grand Tour should suit the young Irish rider who goes into the race on the back of a solid week at the Vuelta a Burgos earlier this month and having finished second overall at the Tour of Austria in July. 'I'm super, super excited,' said Ryan. 'I think it is going to be a great three weeks. I haven't done a Grand Tour before, so I'm excited for the experience. We've got a super young squad. It'll be pretty exciting and hopefully Poppy Chaves [Esteban Chaves] can guide us through it nicely. 'I want to try and get in the break in some of the harder stages and fight for a stage win or two. That's the goal. There are going to be loads of opportunities. 'That is why I'm just really excited to go there. It is the grand tour that has the stages that suit me the best.' Ryan is one of four EF debutants alongside Markel Beloki, Lukas Nerurkar, and Jardi van der Lee while Esteban Chaves, James Shaw, Madis Mihkels and Sean Quinn have also been selected Dunbar will return to the Vuelta with happy memories after winning two stages of last year's race and forms part of a three-pronged leadership for Jayco-Alula alongside Ben O'Connor and Chris Harper. The Wicklow-born Danish rider Chris Juul Jensen is also on the eight-rider team. The confirmation of Dunbar's selection comes a day after it was announced he will leave the Australian team at the end of the season and move to Swiss team Q36.5 Pro Cycling. The 28-year-old Corkman warmed up for the Vuelta by racing in the Arctic Race of Norway last week after he was forced to withdraw from his first Tour de France on stage 8 following a crash. The race features 3,151km of racing across four countries, with 53,914m of elevation gain.

WWE comes to Dublin this week, but this time it's for a historic first TV taping as Smackdown will air live from the 3Arena. It's set to be a huge show from the wrestling giants as they are on the road to their massive Clash in Paris show at the end of August. It will also mark John Cena's last appearance in Dublin as a WWE wrestler as the GOAT is set to retire from professional wrestling in December. Eddie Dunbar signs two-year contract with Q36.5 Pro Cycling
EDDIE DUNBAR HAS signed a two-year contract with Q36.5 Pro Cycling team, for the 2026 and 2027 seasons. The 28-year-old has been with Team Jayco AlUla since 2023. The Banteer, Co Cork man finished seventh in the 2023 Giro d'Italia and 11th in the 2024 Vuelta, with two stage wins. The 28-year-old reunites with Belgian coach Kurt Bogaerts, who he worked with at Ineos, where Dunbar was contracted from 2018-22. Advertisement Bogaerts is familiar to Irish cycling fans through his work with An Post-Chain Reaction from 2007-17. 'The Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team is obviously a team on the up, which is a good sign,' Dunbar said. 'They are really competitive in races, take it on even if they don't win and create a good racing atmosphere riding as one. 'When Kurt Bogaerts – who I know well from my time at Ineos – joined, my interest was sparked even more. I know how he works. 'I also spoke to Doug Ryder (general manager) on how the team is going and what they expect. In Tom (Pidcock) they have a clear leader which is always good for any team so it seems like a good moment now to join with my knowledge and experience. 'Grand Tours suit me well because I always get better towards the end. I absorb the workload of a three-week race well. There have been glimpses of what I can do but due to crashes and illness I haven't reached my full potential there yet. That's something for the next two years. 'The team has already done some big races, and I hope I will play my part in the future ones. Winning a race is never easy but when there is an opportunity, I am ready to take my chance.' Irish national champion Rory Townsend pulled off a major win for Q36.5 Pro Cycling yesterday, when the 30-year-old claimed the Hamburg Classic, the biggest victory of his career so far.
