A DAREDEVIL paraglider has died after she was blown away by powerful winds which sent her crashing into a cliff.
Isabel Kofler, 29, plunged 1,600ft to her death after she leapt from Ortler mountain in the Italian Alps - while her pals watched in horror.

Isabel had reached the summit at dawn on August 8 with three friends and the group planned to paraglide down to the valley.
She reportedly made the first jump, before immediately losing altitude and plummeting down the mountain.
The hiker was blown away by a "freak" gust of wind which caused her to slam into the snow-covered rocks.
She then tumbled around 1,600ft down the cliff face while her friends watched helplessly.

A mountain guide who witnessed the horror accident immediately alerted authorities.
Rescue services scrambled to the scene, including the Sulden Alpine Rescue team, the Pelikan 1 air rescue helicopter, and the Guardia di Finanza's Alpine unit.
Paramedics and mountain rescuers were lowered to the scene by winch.
But when they arrived she was pronounced dead following the violent impact caused by the sudden gust of wind.

The dangerous recovery operation lasted about two hours.
Rescue workers had to complete to operation amid a high risk of falling rocks.

Paragliding and scuba instructor Luan Calor Cannelas Gomes da Silva, 29, and his ex-partner Vanessa do Nascimento Alves, died after the tragic accident in Brazil.
The pair were paragliding in Niteroi City Park, which overlooks Guanabara Bay in the Atlantic Ocean, on August 8.

The former couple were separated but had a three-year-old daughter together.
And last month, Felix Baumgartner's grieving partner shared footage of the daredevil's doomed final paragliding flight.
The Austrian athlete, 56, most famous for jumping to Earth from the edge of space, tragically lost his life in an accident while on holiday in Italy in July.

A third person has died in wildfires in Spain this week while Greece began beating back a blaze threatening its third-largest city Patras as an unrelenting heatwave stoked tinderbox conditions in southern Europe. Some 600 ground crews and nearly 30 water-bombing aircraft deployed from dawn in all locations, he said, but gentler winds were aiding the firefighting effort. Major outbreaks also stretched emergency services on the tourist island of Zante, the Aegean island of Chios and near the western town of Preveza. Citing data from the EU's Copernicus satellite monitoring programme, the National Observatory of Athens said those fires and the Patras blaze had burned more than 10,000 hectares. State TV ERT said three men aged 19 to 27 had been detained on suspicion of starting separate fires near Patras on Tuesday. Police confirmed one of the arrests. Meanwhile, Portugal mobilised more than 1,900 firefighters against four major blazes, with one in the central area of Trancoso having razed an estimated 14,000 hectares since Saturday. Another front that broke out yesterday in the mountainous central Arganil area occupied more than 800 firefighters. The Balkans appeared to have overcome the worst of an exceptionally strong heatwave that worsened its traditional fire season, destroying homes and prompting the evacuation of thousands. Albanian firefighters continued to struggle against blazes around the country, with reports of more homes lost overnight. In neighbouring Montenegro, easing conditions and water-bombing aircraft helped gain the upper hand against wildfires. Tourist hotspots Rome and Venice were among 16 Italian cities placed on red alert for extreme heat, with peaks of 39C predicted for Florence on the eve of a busy holiday weekend.

The fires, fueled by scorching temperatures and strong winds, have burned hundreds of hectares of land, as well as a number of homes. A four-year-old boy died of heatstroke in Italy after being found unconscious in his family's car on the island of Sardinia. The news came as Italy's health ministry issued a red alert warning for seven major cities, including Bologna and Florence. Some 11 Italian cities are on red alert for Tuesday, and 16 cities on Wednesday.
