Asian boy, 5, pleads 'don't hurt me!' as middle school bully films himself hurling racial slurs in vile video clip

Daily Mail28-04-2025

A middle school student is seen taunting a five-year-old Asian boy with ethnic slurs in a disturbing video.
The footage from April 5 in Loudoun County, Virginia, shows the kindergartner being racially abused as he frantically tries to flee.
As he retreats towards his home, he can be heard pleading: 'No! Don't hurt me! Don't hurt me!'
Disturbing: Video has emerged in Virginia showing a middle school student taunting a 5-year-old Asian boy with ethnic slurs and harassment - all while recording himself
The distressing scene continues as the 5-year-old runs along the porch, desperately crying out to other children for assistance: 'Don't do it! Save me! Save me!'
The recording also picks up the sound of laughter from bystanders, yet no one steps in to help the terrified child.
The taunting takes a specifically offensive turn when the middle schooler asks: 'Are you having dumplings for dinner?'
This harassment persisted for nearly two minutes, finally ending when the boy's mother opened the door, allowing her son to rush inside to safety.
The clip was later shared among students at Eagle Ridge Middle School via a group chat.
The victim's family was ultimately made aware of the incident by another parent, who was reportedly in tears when delivering the news.
To protect the privacy of the young victim, News4 is not disclosing the family's identity.
The little boy's mother expressed her profound distress upon viewing the video: 'Every time I saw that, my heart's broken every time.
'As a mother, to see my son insulted by other older kids, my son's only 5 years old. I just don't know why those kids are so cruel to say that to my son.'
The boy's father recounted his son's innocent confusion regarding the racial slur, revealing that he asked if he was being called 'King Kong.'
With a breaking voice, the father shared his internal struggle: 'Should I keep lying and say, 'Yes. They're calling you King Kong because you're strong,' or should I try to explain to him what is that word and why they're saying that to you? It's hard.'
The parents conveyed their deep concern not only about the student who recorded the harassment but also about the other children who simply watched and laughed.
'Nobody came to step out and to say, "Stop," ' his mother lamented. 'Nobody think this is not right. They just laughing. Yeah, nobody stood up.'
Having moved to the United States from China and chosen Loudoun County after careful consideration of its schools, the couple now feel their aspirations for a secure and welcoming community have been destroyed.
'We thought that this would be a great place, however though, it ended up like this,' the father said.
The mother added: 'So, what hurts me most is then, where else should I be? That hurts me most, not just the words.'
Due to the off-campus location of the harassment, disciplinary action against the responsible student by Eagle Ridge Middle School is unlikely.
Nevertheless, school spokesman Dan Adams told News4: 'The school division does not condone the behavior and is quite disappointed.
'Even though this child is not an LCPS student, we have offered this student counseling and potentially restorative practices.'
Adams clarified that these restorative practices would be directed towards the middle school student.
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that an investigation is underway but refrained from providing comments due to the involvement of juveniles.
The boy's parents are hopeful sharing their experience will serve as a cautionary tale that can spur change.
'Let other families know and never say the bad words to the kids, never say racist words to other kids,' his mother urged. 'It's not right.'
His father further emphasized the broader implications: 'I think children means the future,' he stated. 'If children are sinking down, then the future of this country is sinking down.'

Couple busted with £1m of drugs in luggage at airport in drug mule fears

Daniel McDonald and Sian Warren were arrested at Heathrow Airport. A couple detained as they tried to bring drugs worth £1million into the UK have been charged with smuggling. Daniel McDonald and Sian Warren were snared at Heathrow Airport. McDonald, 36, and Warren, 34, are accused of trying to smuggle cannabis worth the seven-figure sum after coming back from the Asian holiday hotspot of Thailand. ‌ The National Crime Agency reportedly found more than 51kg of cannabis in their luggage. It is understood that the drug was in four cases that the pair were carrying. ‌ They appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court where they have been charged with importing Class B drugs and have been bailed under curfew ahead of a plea hearing on June 26 at Isleworth Crown Court. Warren and McDonald, from Salford, Greater Manchester, went to Bangkok on holiday last month and Warren's dad Tony told The Sun that there must have been a mistake. The Mirror reports He said: "Sian's not brought anything back, definitely not. She had her own suitcase with clothes in it." It is the latest of several incidents involving British holidaymakers who have been accused of smuggling drugs from Thailand. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! An expert has now warned that criminal gangs are 'grooming' naive tourists. In the last few weeks, three British women have hit the headlines after they were accused of attempting to smuggle drugs. ‌ Bella May Cullen, 18, was arrested after flying into Georgia from Thailand with around 14kg of cannabis and 2kg of hashish in her luggage. A day later former TUI stewardess Charlotte May Lee was allegedly caught with 46kg of Kush. She is said to have had the high-grade strain of cannabis, valued at £1.2million, in her luggage after arriving in Sri Lanka, again from Thailand. And then it emerged another Brit, Isabella Daggett, 21, from Leeds, has been held in a hellhole Dubai prison since March. ‌ She was arrested on suspected drugs offences. Nathan Paul Southern is the Operations Director at The EyeWitness Project, which specialises in the investigation of organised crime, conflict and corruption. He says southeast Asia has now become the world's leading supplier of both narcotics like heroin and synthetic drugs like ecstasy and crystal meth. The 'Golden Triangle' - a large mountainous region on the borders with Myanmar, Thailand and Laos, recently overtook Afghanistan as the world's largest producer of opium, used to make heroin. ‌ And he says gangs are 'flocking' to the region from around the world, where they appear to be using grooming techniques used in other types of crimes to ensnare impressionable young Westerners. Mr Southern said: "The idea of charming strangers grooming backpackers isn't new, it's just the same old tactics in a region with a booming drug trade." He told the Mirror: "The same grooming techniques we've seen in romance scams and human trafficking could be getting adapted for drug smuggling."

Boy, 12, slipped in puddle before falling off cliff to his death, inquest told

Chinese tourist Zhihan Zhao, 12, tragically slipped in a puddle and fell to his death at the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland, a witness told an inquest A 12-year-old boy slipped in a puddle and lost his balance by the edge of a cliff before he plunged to his death, an inquest has heard. French tourist Marion Tourgon described the moment young Zhihan Zhao accidentally died at the Cliffs of Moher in western Ireland, on July 23, 2024. The 12-year-old had set out on a walk with his mum, Xianhong Huang, and friends on the Cliffs of Moher trail but the stroll turned fatal at around 1.45pm. The Chinese nationals had only arrived to Ireland 12 days before the tragic incident, and were visiting one of the country's most popular attractions. ‌ The mum said her son was walking ahead of her on the trail when she lost sight of him. She told how they started walking from the Nagle's car park in Liscannor, and said: "My son walked very fast and was ahead of us by 50 metres. As there was only one path I thought we would meet him along the way. When I didn't I walked to the visitor centre and I checked the visitor centre." ‌ When she couldn't find him the mum walked back along the path then reported her boy missing. Speaking through an interpreter at the inquest in Kildare, Huang cried and asked: "What exactly caused Zhihan to fall from the Cliffs?" Tourgon told the inquest she had been at the edge of the cliffs at 1.45pm with her husband and two children taking a selfie, the Irish Mirror reports. The French tourist said she saw a young Asian boy come into her eyeline while they were taking the picture and recalled what she saw next. She said: "I saw him slipping in the puddle that appears in the photo that my husband sent to the police. His right foot slipped into the puddle with him trying to stop himself from falling with his left foot but his left foot ended up in the air. "It was very quick - he found himself in an awkward position with his left foot in a void over the cliff and his right knee on the edge of the cliff. His right knee eventually fell into the void over the cliff and he was trying to grasp the grass with his hands to pull himself up. He didn't shout and there was no noise." Tourgon said she alerted the emergency services by phone and added that "it is only the few of us who saw him falling". Heartbroken Huang asked "did he slip?", and Insp Helen Costello replied: "It appears from the witness that he slipped into the void having stumbled in the puddle." ‌ Police officer Colm Collins said he received a call that day at 2pm to attend the Cliffs of Moher after a male was seen falling off. He added that the Irish Coastguard had spotted a body floating in the water at the bottom of the cliffs. Collins said a lifeboat was sent but the craft was not able to access the site where the body was spotted due to the sea conditions. Zhihan's body was recovered by a fisherman five days later around 10am on July 28. O'Dea said the post mortem found that Zhihan died from multiple traumatic injuries consistent with a fall from a height and said her verdict was an "accidental death". She said: "It is clear from evidence we heard that Zhihan slipped off the Cliffs rather than any other way. His death would have been very quick - instantaneous." O'Dea told Ms Huang: "I can't imagine how upsetting this is for you" and the two embraced as Ms Huang left the coroner's court in Kilrush. She added: "The pain must be immeasurable for you all."

Man who filmed children at Barshaw Park walks free after sheriff ruling

Sheriff Sukhwinder Gill ruled there was no criminal intent, describing the incident as a case of "naivety" and granting an absolute discharge. A tourist who was seen filming a small child in a park has walked free from court after a sheriff ruled no criminality had taken place. Janpreet Singh, 29, was confronted by a furious dad after he was spotted taking a video of the youngster at Barshaw Park in Paisley. ‌ The man filmed Singh and shared the footage on social media in a bid to identify him, sparking huge concern in the community. ‌ Singh had travelled from India to visit his sister who identified him from the video and went to police in March. She told officers he had been making videos to share with family in India. Officers later found the video of the child along with two others showing swans and park scenes. Singh appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court and admitted filming the child. But when he appeared for sentencing, Sheriff Sukhwinder Gill ruled no criminality had taken place and granted Singh an absolute discharge. The rare move means that he will receive no punishment. His lawyer had previously claimed there had been a 'certain level of naivety' involved in what Singh, who spent two nights in custody over the case, was doing. ‌ Sheriff Gill told him: "You went to Barshaw Park, you recorded videos and intended to send them to your family in India. "I don't believe there was anything more to it than that. As a consequence of these proceedings you have chosen not to go home. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! "I also question why your image was uploaded on social media, which in itself seemed to have caused huge concern in the local community that there was an Asian male in the park who may be a 'paedophile'." The sheriff added: "I was going to admonish you, but I am going to take the unusual and exceptional step, not to proceed to conviction and grant you an absolute discharge. "The reason for that is that I am not satisfied there was any criminality involved here. That is the end of the matter."
