Training held for 1.12L teachers across State
Hyderabad: In a bid to enhance educational quality and empower educators, around 1,12,882 teachers were trained by the Education Department, Telangana.
The initiative covered a total of 25,356 government, local body, TREIS, Model Schools, KGBVs, and URS institutions. To ensure optimal participation and coverage, the training was organised in three phases in a cascade mode, each spanning five days. A total of 1,12,882 teachers and Headmasters out of 1,16,084 completed the training.
According to officials, the training programme was spearheaded by 5,605 resource persons and focused on key areas such as: Enhancing student learning outcomes- Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) for primary classes (1-5) and Learning Improvement Program (LIP) for secondary classes (6-9) innovative teaching-learning methodologies, assessment practices, digital literacy (AI, ICT, IFPs) departmental initiatives, creating a drug-free school environment and adolescent safety and empowerment.

Markapur: Prakasam district collector A Thameem Ansariya said that a thorough field-level study of vulnerable children's family circumstances will enable the government to identify their needs and provide appropriate support to these families. Speaking at a training programme held at the MEPMA office in Markapur on Wednesday, the collector outlined the launch of a specialised mobile application designed to study the living conditions of vulnerable children's families. The training session focused on familiarising staff with this new digital tool for comprehensive data collection. As a pilot project, Racharla mandal of the district is selected for conducting the comprehensive study of vulnerable children's family situations. Through this initiative, officials have already identified 360 children requiring various forms of assistance. Among these, several children needed wheelchairs, which have been promptly provided to them. The study programme involves collaboration between multiple departments including ICDS, Education Department, medical staff, and representatives from voluntary organisations operating in respective areas. This multi-sectoral approach aims to ensure comprehensive coverage and support for vulnerable families. The collector emphasised that this systematic approach will help families access essential government services including housing approvals, Aadhaar cards, ration cards, school admissions, and other necessary support services. She instructed women police personnel and ICDS staff to gain complete understanding of the application and accurately record detailed information about vulnerable children's family circumstances, ensuring their genuine needs are properly documented in the system. Plantation drive to be taken up at Nandyal, Kurnool and Anantapur districts on June 5
Nandyal, Kurnool and Anantapur district administrations have planned a massive plantation drive on June 5 (Thursday), on the occasion of World Environment Day. Nandyal District Collector Rajakumari Ganiya said that 1 lakh saplings have to be planted in the gram panchayats, with at least 200 to 250 saplings in each of the 489 gram panchayats in the district. Similarly, 30 saplings should be planted in each of the 1,300 government schools in the district, he added. Another 1,000 saplings should be planted in the 21 government colleges in the district, she instructed the Education Department officials. Ms. Rajakunari Ganiya also said that a total of 5,000 saplings should be planted in the social welfare, tribal welfare, BC, and minority welfare hostels in the district. The officials of Industries, Pollution Control Board and Mining departments were asked to plant a total of 15,000 saplings. The Nandyal Collector asked the District Water Management Authority (DWMA) officials to plant 30,000 saplings at the places where MGNREGA works are being taken up. The district Forest officials were asked to plant 40,000 saplings, while the Agriculture, Horticulture and Irrigation departments were asked to take up plantation drive on canal bunds and boundaries of agriculture fields. 'The Housing Department officials should plant one sapling each in front of every house in the government housing colonies, and 20,000 saplings in total. Similarly, 10,000 saplings should be planted in the Collectorate and other government offices,' Ms Rajakumari Ganiya said. The Collector also asked officials to plant 5,000 saplings in the guest houses of Roads and Buildings, Panchayat Raj and National Highway Authority departments. The officials were asked to take steps for planting 75,000 saplings in the private educational institutions. In Anantapur, a district-level plantation drive will be held at Nagaravanam in Pampanuru of Atmakuru mandal, which will be attended by Collector Vinod Kumar V. The district has set a target of planting 3.85 lakh saplings. The Social Forestry Department has made available 12.25 lakh saplings for distribution at 14 forest nurseries in the district. Meanwhile, Kurnool district administration has set a target of planting 4.20 lakh saplings across the district and has asked all the departments to participate in the plantation drive at open places in their office premises. A total of 5 lakh saplings will be available at the seven forest nurseries in the district.
