Broncos' Quinn Meinerz ranked 8th among NFL's best interior offensive linemen

USA Today16-07-2025
Denver Broncos players have gotten a lot of honorable mentions from NFL employees this offseason.
Each summer, ESPN Jeremy Fowler interviews NFL executives, coaches and scouts to have them rank the top 10 players at 11 positions going into the next season. Denver's players who were named honorable mentions on this year's lists include pass rusher Nik Bonitto, defensive lineman Zach Allen, safety Brandon Jones and tight end Evan Engram (additionally, safety Talanoa Hufanga made the "also received votes" category at his position).
Finally, the Broncos have their first player to make the top ten at his position: guard Quinn Meinerz.
After getting an honorable mention nod last year, Meinerz is ranked eighth among interior offensive linemen this offseason. At least one NFL staffer had him ranked second among IOL.
"He's gone from D-III to a top-two-to-three OG," an unnamed NFL personnel director told ESPN. "He has learned that he doesn't have to destroy people every play. He's athletic and strong enough that if he plays controlled, the losses will be few and far between."
Elsewhere on the offensive line, Garett Bolles made the "also received votes" section among offensive tackles.
Meinerz undoubtedly won't be the last Denver player to make the top ten, as the cornerbacks list is set to be published by ESPN on Thursday, and it would be an upset if cornerback Pat Surtain is not at the top. Stay tuned.

The 99 Club is a nickname given to the NFL players who achieve the highest possible rating in EA Sports' "Madden" video game franchise. The honor is an exclusive one, as Madden developers chose only a handful of players to get the game's top rating – which has been capped at 99 since the release of Madden 2002 – each year. Damani Leech pushes back on Broncos stadium rumors: No decision yet

A few weeks ago, it felt like the Denver Broncos might be nearing a stadium announcement. News broke that the club had been buying up properties around Burnham Yard (a potential stadium site), and Mayor Mike Johnston hinted to the Denver Post that more news was on the way. Not so fast, says team president Damani Leech. '[We're] certainly aware of all the media coverage here recently," Leech told reporters at Saturday's training camp practice. "We share in the excitement and interest that it's generated among the fans. We appreciate it. It's good for us to learn what some of the fans say and hear in response to some of those media reports. But, no, I wouldn't say any decision is made. "It's a very comprehensive, long-term process that we're going through. We're trying to be very deliberate about it. [There's] still no determination about whether it's a new stadium or whether it's a renovation or the location that it's in, a lot of work to go there.' But what about those hints from Mayor Johnston? 'Certainly, respect the excitement and enthusiasm of the mayor," Leech said. "He's a big fan of the Broncos, whether it's coming to games... But also, I think both the mayor and governor have been sincere in wanting to do what's right for the Broncos. They understand the role the Broncos play in this community. So, I've had very good conversations with them. "That being said, we're not going to put a timetable on it. This is a 30-, 40-, 50-year decision that we don't want to rush by a matter of weeks here or there. We're going to continue to do our due diligence until we feel like we're in a position to make the right decision.' There's been widespread speculation that the team might be zeroing in on Burnham Yard, but Leech pushed back on the notion of any one location being the favorite. 'We have not made any decisions about preferred sites," Leech said. "What you've heard from us is really at a city level, so city conversations, city viewing, Denver, Aurora, Lone Tree. Beyond that the levels and details there, no decisions have been made.' So the latest update is ... there is no update. Leech says the Broncos still haven't even determined if they will leave their current location at Empower Field at Mile High. It takes years to build a stadium, though, and the lease at the current stadium runs through the 2030 season. So the team might not be ready to make an announcement yet, but a decision has to be coming before too long. Social: Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X! Eagles' All-World cornerback Cooper DeJean makes his debut on the NFL's Top 100 list

After becoming a finalist for the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year award, Eagles all-world slot cornerback Cooper DeJean made his debut on the Top 100 list at No. 60 The Eagles drafted Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean in the first two rounds of last April's NFL draft, and the results were championship-worthy. Philadelphia was 2-2 entering the Week 5 bye, but lost one regular-season game after DeJean was inserted into the lineup in place of Avonte Maddox. The Eagles defeated the Chiefs in Super Bowl 59, and finished the year with both Mitchell and DeJean being finalists for the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year award. With James Bradberry and Darius Slay departing, DeJean will have an even more critical role in Vic Fangio's defense this season, and he's spent the offseason working out with NFL Defensive Player of the Year Patrick Surtain. After a dynamic rookie season, DeJean was just ranked No. 60 best in the NFL's Top 100 Players of 2025, becoming the first Eagle to make the list this year. DeJean logged 51 tackles (38 solo) as a rookie, including 0.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries across 16 regular-season games in 2024. DeJean's biggest and best moment came in Super Bowl LIX against the Chiefs, when he picked off Patrick Mahomes for a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown on his birthday.
