News243 hours ago

Chris Brown has pleaded not guilty to charges linked to a London nightclub brawl, with his trial scheduled to begin in October 2026.
The Grammy-winning singer is accused of causing grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon.
Despite strict bail conditions, Brown is continuing his international tour, including performances in London and beyond.
American R&B singer Chris Brown on Friday pleaded not guilty in a UK court to a charge stemming from an alleged London nightclub brawl in 2023.
Brown, 36, wearing a dark suit and tie as well as glasses, stood in the dock in London as the charge was put to him, replying: 'Not guilty, ma'am.'
The singer, who is on £5 million ($6.7 million) bail, waved to people in the public gallery as he left, following his plea to allegedly attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
A five to seven-day-long trial was scheduled to start on 26 October 2026.
The singer was held in custody for nearly a week in May after he was arrested in the northwestern city of Manchester. He was later released on bail.
Under the terms of his bail, he will forfeit the £5 million guarantee if he fails to return for court proceedings.
He was also given the go-ahead to continue his scheduled international tour, which began on 8 June in Amsterdam.

The star, who had a troubled relationship with Barbadian singer Rihanna, is on the UK leg of his tour, with his next date in London on Saturday.
Brown is charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent in relation to an assault in which the victim was allegedly struck several times with a bottle before being pursued, punched and kicked.
The alleged incident took place at a nightclub in Hanover Square in London on 19 February 2023 while Brown was touring in the UK.
Grammy winner
Police detained him in the early hours of 13 May at a five-star hotel in Manchester after he reportedly flew in by private jet.
Other bail terms include surrendering his passport if he is not travelling.
He is also required to live at a specific address known to the court and is not permitted to visit the nightclub where the alleged assault took place or contact the alleged victim, Abraham Diah.
He appeared in the dock with co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu, a US national, with whom he is jointly charged.

Akinlolu also entered a not-guilty plea to the same charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
Both men are also jointly charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
They will enter pleas to that charge on 11 July, the court was told.
Brown also faces a third charge of having an offensive weapon, a bottle, in public.
The Grammy-winning singer is known for mid-2000s hits such as 'Kiss, Kiss.'
He rose from a local church choir in Virginia to sudden fame with his rich R&B voice and later rap, but his reputation has been tarnished by the allegations of abuse.
He is also scheduled to perform in France, Portugal and the US later in the year before the tour wraps up in Memphis in mid-October.

Charles and Camilla hoping runner will win at Royal Ascot

The King and Queen will be hoping to double their tally of Royal Ascot winners when their horse takes to the turf in a sprint race. Charles and Camilla have seen their racing hopes dashed twice this week when their much fancied thoroughbreds were well beaten. But Purple Rainbow will be running in the aptly named Sandringham Stakes over a mile and could add to the couple's first Royal Ascot winner in 2023. Racegoers have been given a respite for the moment from this week's sweltering conditions, with hazy cloud over the Berkshire race course keeping temperatures below Thursday's record highs. Will Aitkenhead, head of corporate and industry affairs at the track, said: 'Whilst there are no plans to ease the dress code at this stage, we are conscious of rising temperatures through the day and will monitor the situation. We will be handing out bottled water to guests on arrival and have worked hard overnight to provide more shaded areas.' The King and Queen were joined by Camilla's old school friend Lady Cavendish and her husband Lord Cavendish in their coach during the traditional carriage procession along the course. Among the guests travelling in the carriages were the former Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad, the Queen's Companion the Marchioness of Lansdowne and musical maestro Lord Lloyd-Webber. Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and mother Sarah, Duchess of York were spotted in the parade ring alongside former defence secretary Ben Wallace and Zara Tindall when the royal procession arrived in the exclusive area. The late Queen was a passionate owner and breeder of thoroughbreds and had more than 20 Royal Ascot winners during her 70-year reign. Charles and Camilla have taken on her stable of horses and enjoyed their first Royal Ascot winner in 2023 when their horse Desert Hero triumphed in the King George V Stakes.

Three men guilty of repeatedly raping 12-year-old girl over three days

Three men are facing jail after being found guilty of rape after drugging a young girl and 'using her for their own horrendous gratification' over multiple days. Kevin Horvath, 26, and Ivan Turtak, 38, saw the 12-year-old victim in a supermarket car park in Dover and encouraged her to get in their car on August 11 2024, a Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) spokesperson said. She was then plied with drugs including crystal meth and amphetamine before she was raped and subjected to sexual acts by them and a third man, Ernest Gunar, 27, over a three-day period. The girl managed to escape from her captors after waking up before them on August 13. On Thursday, jurors at Canterbury Crown Court found the three men guilty of a series of sexual offences including rape of a 12-year-old girl after over 14 hours of deliberation. After trial, Gunar was convicted of two counts of rape against a child under 13; Turtak was convicted of one count; and Horvath was convicted of sexual assault. Horvath had already admitted three counts of rape against a child under 13, and one charge of assault by penetration of a child under 13, and Gunar, who is thought to be his cousin, had also admitted one charge of rape. Turtak initially denied rape but did admit taking indecent photos of a child. During the three-day period, whenever they went out in public, the girl was told that she would be killed if she tried to talk to anyone or tried to run away, a CPS spokesperson said. She was found by police on August 13 after escaping from the three men. Her phone had been taken from her and was later found in Horvath's car. Senior Crown Prosecutor Catherine Wear said: 'The three defendants took a 12-year-old from the street, took full advantage of her, plying her with drugs and using her for their own horrendous gratification. 'None of us can underestimate the impact this has had on her. When she was first found by police, she was unable to tell them what she had been put through, as she was so scared, and the details only came out gradually after that. 'Thanks to her courage in detailing what happened to her, despite the obvious distress that caused her, these three dangerous men have now been brought to justice for the appalling and callous crimes they committed against her. 'We hope these verdicts bring some small comfort to her as she starts to rebuild her life.' Horvath and Turtak, of Dover, along with Gunar, of Folkestone, will be sentenced on September 12.

Rihanna Masters the Art of High-Low Dressing on a Burger Run

We're all wearing our Saint Laurent dresses to the Fatburger run, right? No? Just Rihanna, then! Yesterday, Rih reminded us that even something as simple as a fast food pickup can be a fashion event. The singer and Fenty mogul stopped by Fatburger in Los Angeles, where she eschewed a low-key errands 'fit in favor of something fabulously over the top. Always one for statement maternity style, Rihanna opted for a strapless latte-hued A-line maxi dress, outfitted with two rows of ruffles at the bust and one at the hem. Matching the brown tones of her Saint Laurent dress, she added a pair of sporty Puma Speedcats, giving the voluminous dress a more casual feel, which she further emphasized with a baseball cap. ShotbyNYP / BACKGRIDUSA But Rihanna is not one to be subdued, even for a quick burger run. The rest of her accessorizing befit a night on the town, from her black croc-embossed leather Schiaparelli gym bag, to her rose gold Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch (with a pink dial, of course), gold collar necklace, hoop earrings, and sweet 'mom' ring. And what better way to finish off the neutral look than with a bold red lip? Take heed and maybe your next fast food run can be as stylish as Rihanna's.
