Videos of woman performing bike stunts goes viral, cops begin probe

Time of India01-07-2025
Lucknow: A series of viral videos showing a woman performing dangerous stunts on motorcycles on a busy Lucknow highway has prompted traffic police to initiate action.
The videos, shared by social media user Anurag Pandey on X (formerly Twitter), show a woman, now being referred to online as #VaishuRider, riding various bikes without a helmet and performing stunts such as riding hands-free at high speed.
One of the most concerning aspects highlighted by users is her repeated use of black tape to conceal the number plates of the motorcycles, seemingly to avoid identification by enforcement agencies.
"
She's risking not just her life but others' too. She's masking her number plate and riding recklessly. Will the authorities act?" Pandey wrote, tagging the Uttar Pradesh Police and Lucknow Traffic Police in his post.
The undated videos appear to be shot across multiple stretches of the highway and feature different motorcycles, suggesting repeated offences. Background music has been added to the clips, indicating that they were possibly edited and shared for social media engagement.
The Lucknow Police said the matter has been forwarded to the @lucknowtraffic police for necessary action.
Traffic authorities said a probe was on to identify the rider and trace the vehicles.
"These kinds of stunts are not just violations of traffic rules but also endanger public safety. We are reviewing the footage and will take strict legal action," said a senior traffic police official.

UP cops launch ‘Operation Savera' for drug-free state

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police has initiated 'Operation Savera' in the Saharanpur region. This operation aims to transition society from the darkness of addiction to the light of a drug-free life. The drive has been launched on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and DGP Rajeev Krishna. The operation will target illegal drug manufacturers, intermediaries, suppliers, and peddlers across the three districts of the Saharanpur range. The police will conduct rigorous actions against those involved in the illicit drug trade. The efforts will be made to dismantle the networks of criminals involved in drug trafficking by targeting both forward and backward linkages. Strict legal measures will be taken against the mafias dealing in narcotics and psychotropic substances. The operation will involve the confiscation of properties acquired by criminals through illegal drug trade. Special awareness campaigns will be conducted to educate society, particularly students, about the adverse effects of drug abuse. Krishna said a review of ongoing cases under the NDPS Act will be conducted to ensure convictions of the guilty. Legal proceedings under the PITNDPS Act will be initiated against the main kingpins of the illegal drug trade. Visits to de-addiction centers will be organized to gather information about the facilities and challenges faced by individuals undergoing treatment.
