49ers QB Brock Purdy, wife Jenna Purdy are new parents, ‘life just became a whole lot sweeter'

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, who recently became the $265 million man, has added another title rich with meaning: dad.
Purdy and his wife, Jenna, welcomed their first child, Millie Joleen, whose arrival was the reason Purdy missed practice Friday with what the team termed 'personal reasons.' After Purdy returned on Sunday following an off day, head coach Kyle Shanahan noted he was absent due to 'good news.'

The Purdys met at Iowa State, where Jenna was a volleyball player, and they were married in March 2024.
The birth of his first child is part of an eventful offseason for Purdy, who signed a five-year, $265 million contract in May. The Purdys recently purchased a house in Nashville near George Kittle's 75-acre property, which includes a 40-yard, synthetic-turf football field and a three-story gym that includes a yoga room, recovery room and massage room.
Purdy said last week on KNBR that he and his wife settled on Music City for professional and personal reasons.
I'll have 'guys to train with, George has a great group of guys, which is really fun,' Purdy said. 'And it's a great area to live and raise a family.'

Six weeks after undergoing a mastectomy following her breast cancer diagnosis, Jessie J was admitted to the hospital once again to address her ongoing complications. The musician shared in a recent Instagram Story post that she discharged herself ('I hate being in the hospital') after being assured that the symptoms she has been experiencing are not related to a blood clot in her lungs. '6 weeks post surgery and I was back in the same ward I was after my surgery,' Jessie wrote on Saturday, Aug. 2. 'Not expected or planned. I had and still have symptoms that pointed towards a blood clot on the lung. IT IS NOT A BLOOD CLOT THANK GOD.' The singer's testing revealed an infection and fluid in her lungs, but has not been explicitly detailed. Who Is Luiza Rozova? Putin's Alleged Love Child Breaks Silence

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Elizaveta Krivonogikh, also known as Luiza Rozova, has gone public with sharp criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin—her alleged father—more than a year after vanishing from social media. Now living in Paris under a new name, she's distancing herself from the Kremlin and the luxury lifestyle she once displayed online. In a series of Telegram posts obtained by the German newspaper Bild, Krivonogikh wrote about a man "who took millions of lives and destroyed mine." The 22-year-old did not name Putin directly, but the reference was widely interpreted as her first public break with the Russian leader. "It's liberating to be able to show my face to the world again," she added. "It reminds me of who I am and who destroyed my life." A New Life in Paris Born in St. Petersburg in 2003, Krivonogikh has been long rumored to be the daughter of Putin and former cleaner Svetlana Krivonogikh. After Luiza's birth, her mother's financial fortunes rose sharply. While there has never been official confirmation of Putin's paternity, Krivonogikh's patronymic—Vladimirovna—and past investigative reports have fueled speculation for years. On right, Elizaveta Krivonogikh. More Getty Images / Telegram She once posted regularly on Instagram, sharing photos of private jets, elite nightclubs and designer fashion. But her account disappeared around the time Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. Now, according to multiple reports, she goes by Elizaveta Rudnova and works at two Paris art galleries—L Galerie in Belleville and Espace Albatros in Montreuil—both known for hosting anti-war exhibitions. She graduated from the ICART School of Cultural and Art Management in 2024 and helps organize shows and produce video content. Caught Between Politics Krivonogikh's new life has not been without controversy. Russian artist Nastya Rodionova, who fled Russia after the invasion of Ukraine, ended her collaboration with both galleries after learning of Krivonogikh's involvement. "It is inadmissible to allow a person who comes from a family of beneficiaries of the regime to come into confrontation with the victims of that regime," Rodionova said in a public statement. Krivonogikh defended herself, asking, "Am I really responsible for the activities of my family, who can't even hear me?" Some in the Paris art community have supported her. Dmitry Dolinsky, who runs the association that oversees both galleries, told Bild: "She looks like Putin, but so do 100,000 other people. I haven't seen a DNA test." Others described her as cultured and committed to her work. Her mother was sanctioned by the United Kingdom in 2023 over her ties to Putin's inner circle. Krivonogikh has since traded designer labels for activism, signaling a full break from the image she once embraced. "My life is ruined," she wrote recently, referencing the man she holds responsible for both personal and national destruction. She now appears focused on rebuilding her identity—and making it clear that she wants no part of the legacy she inherited.

Bryce James Spots Another Detail in LeBron James' Clippers Facility Photo

Bryce James Spots Another Detail in LeBron James' Clippers Facility Photo originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James captured the attention of the NBA world after he posted a workout photo of himself in front of the rival Los Angeles Clippers logo, and now his son, Bryce James, is shedding light on another intriguing aspect of the controversial photo. This comes after James opted into his $52.6 million player option with the Lakers for next season but has still been at the center of trade talks all offseason. An odd development that occurred after his agent, Rich Paul, told ESPN that the Lakers are "building for the future," while the 40-year-old James is hoping to win now. With the rumors surrounding James running rampant, the photo he shared to his Instagram which happened to be in front of the Clippers logo certainly didn't help ease tensions. However, his younger son did make a joke of the situation, writing, "What a great hoodie" as his father was wearing a black sweatshirt with a picture of the Arizona Wildcat that read, "Senior Night 2025," from Bryce's final year at Sierra Canyon High School. LeBron James' Second Time Working Out at Facility Associated With Another NBA Team This workout photo that sparked thousands of comments online is the second time that James has decided to pose at a facility associated with another NBA team. In July, James was spotted working out at the Cleveland Cavaliers' facility after a photo of him and undrafted guard Denver Jones took the internet by storm. While many viewed it as a cryptic message of sorts, being that James had been linked to Cleveland for a possible reunion, he set the record straight on X as to why he was there, citing the fact he also lives in Ohio. "And every summer since it was built," James wrote. "I live here still and train every summer. Got damn yall bored man! Go get a plate of food somewhere and enjoy the 4th of July!" Why Was LeBron James Practicing at a Clippers Facility? Now, the reason James was in the same building as a Los Angeles Clippers logo has been confirmed and may be a bit less climactic than fans would have hoped. According to a report by For The Win's Bryan Kalbrosky, the photo was actually snapped at Klutch Sports Group's offices in Playa Vista. "When the Clippers moved into their new arena, it included an 85,000 square foot practice facility," wrote Kalbrosky. "That means that they no longer needed the smaller Honey Training Center." LeBron James Feeds Trade Rumors Even with the context that James is simply practicing at the facility owned by the agency his agent founded, it still aligns with James' history of cryptic messages. The aforementioned statement given to ESPN by Paul was interpreted by many as James suggesting that the Lakers need to make more moves this offseason or consider trading him to a contender. With the Lakers reportedly building around 26-year-old star Luka Doncic, they still made some offseason acquisitions that should appease James. Signed center Deandre Ayton to a two-year, $16.6 million contract. Signed sharpshooter Jake LaRavia to a two-year, $12 million contract. Signed former NBA Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart to a two-year, $11 million contract. Although fans may be hopeful to see more James drama, ESPN's Bobby Marks reported in June that "there isn't" a trade market for James. So, he can practice wherever he would like this offseason, but LeBron's expensive buyout and age may be more important to teams than photos in front of opposing story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Aug 1, 2025, where it first appeared.
