
Egypt's Grand Mufti Receives Canadian Ambassador, Condemns Gaza Atrocities

Egypt's Grand Mufti and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, met with Canada's newly appointed Ambassador to Cairo, Ulric Shannon, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.
The Grand Mufti welcomed the ambassador and highlighted Dar al-Ifta's global leadership in issuing fatwas and promoting moderate Islamic thought.
He outlined the institution's efforts in religious training, countering extremism and Islamophobia, and fostering societal awareness.
Dr. Ayyad also emphasized Dar al-Ifta's nationwide expansion, its support for women scholars, and its role in shaping informed, reality-aware muftis. He strongly condemned the ongoing atrocities in Gaza, calling them a stain on the conscience of the international community and a failure that fuels extremism and global instability.
From his part, Ambassador Shannon praised Dar al-Ifta's vital work in promoting tolerance and moderation, expressing Canada's keen interest in deepening cooperation with such impactful institutions.

Sisi, EU Council Chief Discuss Strategic Partnership, Gaza Crisis over Phone
Nada Mustafa President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call today, on Tuesday, from António Costa, President of European Council. Mohamed El-Shennawy, Official Presidential Spokesperson stated that the call emphasized the importance of continued coordination between Egypt and European Union (EU) on various regional and international issues. The two sides also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and intensify efforts to implement all pillars of the comprehensive strategic partnership, in order to further enhance bilateral relations in political, economic, cultural, and scientific fields. El-Shennawy further noted that the call addressed the latest developments on key regional issues, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip. White House: Trump hopes Iran will accept his proposal
Basant Ahmed The White House announced that US President Donald Trump hopes Iran will accept Washington's proposal for the nuclear deal, otherwise there will be "serious consequences" for Tehran. White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said during a press conference on Tuesday that "Special Envoy Witkoff has sent a detailed proposal to the Iranian regime. The president hopes they will accept it." She added, "If this does not happen, there will be serious consequences." The United States and Iran have held five rounds of indirect negotiations to reach a new agreement on Iran's nuclear program. Iranian FM: We are ready to help in reconstruction of Lebanon
Basant Ahmed Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi expressed his country's readiness to assist the Lebanese government in the reconstruction process. During a meeting in Beirut on Tuesday, the Iranian Foreign Minister discussed relations between the two countries and the latest regional and international developments, according to Iran's Tasnim News Agency. Araghchi affirmed Tehran's readiness to expand relations with Lebanon in all fields on the basis of mutual respect and common interests.
