3 Luzon dams release water due to heavy rains — PAGASA
According to PAGASA, Ipo Dam in Bulacan and Ambuklao and Binga Dams in Benguet were still releasing water as of 8 a.m.
Ipo Dam opened one gate at 0.2 meters as its reservoir water level (RWL) reached 100.17 meters, slightly lower than its normal level of 101.10 meters.
Ambuklao Dam, meanwhile, opened three gates at 1.5 meters each as its water level eased to 750.70 meters from 751 meters on Tuesday. Its normal water level is 752 meters.
Likewise, Binga Dam opened two gates each at one meter. Its current water level was at 574 meters, lower than its normal water level of 575 meters.
Heavy rains continued to persist over parts of the country due to the effect of the Habagat and the LPA.
PAGASA said Metro Manila, Benguet, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Occidental Mindoro may experience monsoon rais while the rest of MIMAROPA, La Union, Nueva Ecija, Quezon, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental may observe occasional rains.
Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms is forecast over the rest of Luzon and Visayas, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may prevail over Mindanao.
The LPA may bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Batanes, Cagayan, and Isabela. — VDV, GMA Integrated News

More than P1.9 billion worth of agriculture were damaged due to combined effects of the southwest monsoon and tropical cyclones Crising, Dante, and Emong, according to data from National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Wednesday. In its Situational Report No. 26 dated July 30, NDRRMC said the production loss or cost of damage reached P1,960,474,286.32 affecting 66,989 farmers and fisherfolks. The most affected was Region 3 posting P1,105,731,824.39 damage to agriculture; followed by Region 4B (MIMAROPA) with 190,461,873.31; Region 1 with P155,786,034.97; Region 4A (CALABARZON) with 146,738,657.04; Negros Island Region with P97,265,558.58; Region 6 with P83,204,081.20; Region 2 with P76,411,047; Region 12 with 58,681,824; Region 5 with P44,914,911.19. Meanwhile, the estimated cost of damage to infrastructure was at P9,499,410,993.514. Affected areas were Regions 1, 2, 3, Cordillera Administrative Region, 4A, 4B, 5, 6, NIR, and 10. A total of 37,557 houses were also damaged in Regions 1, 2, CAR, 3, 4A, 4B, 5, 6, NIR, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, CARAGA, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. NDRRMC noted that the decrease in figure was due to ongoing validation and verification. The tropical cyclones and Habagat also affected 2,064,096 families or 7,457,942 persons. Of the number, 32,332 families or 113,438 persons were served inside 1,145 evacuation centers and 23,967 families or 90,617 persons were served outside evacuation centers. PAGASA: Scattered rains over Metro Manila, Luzon areas due to Habagat
The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will continue to affect Metro Manila and the rest of the country, bringing occasional rains, PAGASA said on Wednesday. In its 4 a.m. forecast, the weather bureau said ckoudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and Rizal due to habagat. The same weather system will bring occasional rains in the Ilocos region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Abra, and Benguet. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms as a result of the Southwest Monsoon. Habagat rains likely across country
The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will affect the Philippines in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said in its Tuesday afternoon forecast. Occasional rains will occur over the Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Abra, and Benguet, while cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and Rizal. The rest of the country will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms. Strong winds and rough coastal waters are possible in Extreme Northern Luzon, while the western section of Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.
