Sridevis 62nd birth anniversary: Boney Kapoor shares emotional post for late wife, says he still remembers her as '26'
Sridevi, celebrated as the first female superstar of Indian cinema, had an unmatched career spanning Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films. Her untimely passing in 2018 left a void in the industry, but her work and memories continue to inspire.
Among those who shared heartfelt tributes was her husband, film producer Boney Kapoor. Posting a beautiful still of Sridevi from her film English Vinglish on Instagram, he expressed how she remains forever young in his heart. Calling her "26" even today, he wrote, "Yes, you are not 62 today. You are 26. Happy birthday; we are still reliving all your happy birthdays."
He later shared another post, where he fondly reminisced about a birthday party from 1990. In the post, he recalled how, with a cheeky smile, he told Sridevi she was turning "26" even though she was actually 27 just to make her laugh.
The caption of the post read, "In 1990, her birthday party in chennai when I wished her happy 26th birthday while it was her 27th birthday to make her feel that she had gone younger & it was a compliment , that with every passing day she is getting younger but she taught I was teasing her"
Fans quickly filled the comments with love and admiration. One wrote, "Always in our hearts," while another remembered her as "The only female superstar. We miss you, Legend."
In a career spanning over five decades, Sridevi was honoured with several prestigious awards and was also given the Padma Shri - India's fourth-highest civilian honour - in 2013. The actress made her acting debut at the age of four with the 1967 Tamil film 'Kandhan Karunai.' Later, in 1972, she made her first appearance in Bollywood with the film 'Rani Mera Naam.'
She went on to leave an indelible mark on her fans with several iconic roles in Hindi films like 'Chandni', 'Lamhe', 'Mr India', 'Chaalbaaz', 'Nagina', 'Sadma' and 'English Vinglish', among others. Her last film was 'Mom', for which she also received the Best Actress National Award, posthumously.
She married Boney Kapoor in 1996. The couple had two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, who are now following in their mother's footsteps, pursuing acting careers in Bollywood. (ANI)

One major highlight of the much-awaited film is the reunion of Thalaiva and actor Aamir Khan after nearly three decades. The two last worked together in the 1995 film Aatank Hi Aatank. In Coolie, Aamir Khan will be seen as Dahaa. A poster showcasing Aamir's rugged new look was recently shared by the makers. Coolie is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner. ‘Coolie' review: Rajinikanth survives Lokesh Kanagaraj's overloaded and tacky ‘Coolie'
Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie stars the ageless, tireless and boundless Rajinikanth as a former dock union leader with a messiah complex. Coolie, released in Tamil, Hindi and other languages, revolves around the conflict between Deva (Rajinikanth), the smuggler Simon (Nagarjuna) and Simon's savage enforcer Dayal (Soubin Shahir). Deva is minding his own business, being a killjoy at the chummery he runs by forcing the residents to abjure liquor. But Deva is no Gandhian, as is revealed when his friend Rajasekhar (Sathyaraj) is killed and Rajasekhar's daughter Preethi (Shruti Haasan) needs protection. Rajsekhar has invented a 'mobile cremator', an electric chair that instantly does the work, and is very useful to Dayal. Since he is apparently the only person on the planet who can operate the gewgaw, his death troubles Dayal a great deal. Deva calls Rajasekhar his best friend but Deva has somehow been kept out of this ash-strewn phase. After Rajasekhar's death, Deva returns to his brutal ways. Written by Kanagaraj and Chandra Anbhazhagan, the 168-minute film has an overdose of gory, nails-driven-into-flesh brand of violence to compensate for its cliche-ridden, contrived plot. Kanagaraj hopes that the brain that isn't yet jaded by visuals of gruesome torture won't start thinking about the holes in the plotting. For safety, Rajinikanth is surrounded by actors who represent each of the country's major film industries. Apart from Nagarjuna (Telugu) and Shahir (Malayalam), Bollywood's Aamir Khan plays Dahaa, a bulked-up gangster. Kannada star Upendra plays Kaleesha, Deva's old buddy. One of the film's themes is that people aren't who they claim to be. This barely works out for Deva, since Rajinikanth has played this kind of mystery man before, but it does for a couple hiding in plain sight. The twist concerning Dayal and the character played by Rachita Ram is the most novel idea in the film. Kanagaraj does badly by the female characters yet again, with Preethi constantly in danger of being raped and not too bright either. The attention is firmly on Rajinikanth, playing the same-old hero with flexible morals with unbridled enthusiasm. Los Angeles [US], August 14 (ANI): US actor Austin Butler says he didn't plan for his dance moves to go viral after he attended 'Caught Stealing' co-star Bad Bunny's concert in Puerto Rico earlier this month. According to PEOPLE, Butler, in a recent episode of 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,' revealed what exactly happened that night. The 33-year-old actor explained that he was at the concert with 'Caught Stealing' director Darren Aronofsky. Butler thought they were just going to be part of the audience, but instead, they ended up on a secondary stage during a part of the show. To make things more interesting, Butler said he was given an edible right before the concert. "I thought it was a good idea, but it was not," he said with a laugh. Butler, who says he doesn't like being the centre of attention, found himself torn. "So, suddenly I'm on stage with Bad Bunny, and the edible is working," said Butler. "It was wild. So it's like my brain is in two movies. One is like, 'Benito and I had lunch earlier in the day, I'm just like, so proud of him,'" he added. "I'm watching him, going like, 'Oh my God, look how much you mean to everyone here.' I'm like, falling in love with Puerto Rican culture and the dancing, and everybody is so sexy and amazing," he continued. "And then the other part of me is like, 'Don't dance, because you'll take attention away from him. This is his moment.'"
