Celebrity rumour mills went into overdrive, with some outlets reporting the relationship as fact, given the pair's loved-up appearance on the publicity tour for the cop movie spoof.
So, in true Naked Gun style, the Irish Independent has gone undercover and scoured the internet to sift through the evidence and crack the case – is this a faux-mance or romance?

At the moment he is receiving major acclaim for his role in the Naked Gun reboot.
Pamela Anderson, born in Ladysmith, British Columbia, Canada, 1967. Age 58
The former Playboy model and Baywatch star has been married six times, twice to the same man. She was married to Tommy Lee from 1995-96; Kid Rock from 2006-07, Rick Salomon from 2007-08 and also 2014-15; and Dan Hayhurst from 2020-22.
A 2022 Hulu mini-series Pam & Tommy dragged up the controversy of the stolen sex tape she had made with her ex-husband Tommy Lee. She has recently been roundly praised for her starring role in The Last Showgirl.

Ed Sheeran arrives at Wexford pub for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann

Thousands of fans have gathered outside a Wexford pub to catch a glimpse of UK singer Ed Sheeran. The Azizam star arrived to The Sky and the Ground pub in Wexford town for the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. Taking to Instagram, South East radio station Beat 102 103 shared a clip of Sheeran arriving in a blacked out SUV, with crowds of fans gathered to greet the star. Massive crowds gathered outside the pub when fans heard of the UK singer's arrival. Ed plans to play a few tunes this evening. Ed's late grandmother Anne Mary Sheeran (also known as Nancy), who died in 2023, was from Wexford and the star often visited her on his summer holidays. One local quipped on Facebook: "Ed Sheeran going to have Wexford shut down!" Ed has previously opened up about spending time in the sunny southeast. In a podcast interview with Louis Theroux, Sheeran confirmed that despite being born in England, he identifies as Irish. 'I class my culture as Irish. That that's what I grew up with,' he told The Louis Theroux Podcast. 'You know, my mom's family is very, very small, it's her and her parents,' he explained. 'And my dad's family is, he's got seven brothers and sisters, which is massive. So, we'd spend all of our holidays in Ireland. My first musical experiences were in Ireland' he said. 'I grew up with trad music in the house. So, I do like, I identify culturally as Irish, but I was obviously born and raised in Britain. I don't overthink it,' he adds, 'but I do feel like my culture is something that I'm really proud of and grew up with and want to express. 'And I feel like just because I was born in Britain doesn't necessarily mean that I have to just be British. There's loads of people that I know that are half this or a quarter that.' Ed Sheeran thrilled fans when he turned up at the Wexford pub Opening up about the best spots to visit in Ireland, he previously said: 'If you're travelling to Ireland to do touristy things, go and see Dingle Bay – and if you want to live in Ireland for a bit, live in Wexford.' His late grandmother praised her superstar grandson for remaining as down-to-earth as ever despite his international success. 'I'll never think of him as being famous I have to say,' she previously told RTE News. 'He's exactly the same as he always is when he visits.' In a 2017 interview with RTÉ, she recalled her future megastar grandson Ed as a 'lovely' kid. "He came to Wexford every year on holidays once we moved here. I'll never think of him as famous. He's exactly the same as he always was when he visits and it's very rare because he's always working." Ed's 2017 hit Nancy Mulligan told the story of how Derry man William 'Bill' Sheeran fell in love with Anne and married her on the Wexford border. The singer said his grandparents "had this sort of Romeo and Juliet romance", which he described as "the most romantic thing". Anne wed Bill in 1951 in London and the couple raised their family in the city before returning to Gorey in the 1980s. Nancy passed away in 2023 at the age of 98. While Ed Sheeran was unable to attend the funeral due to being in court in New York, he was reportedly upset about missing the event. Ireland rugby star Robbie Henshaw shares a tune while on stag do in Mayo pub

Henshaw (32) was on a stag party in Number 9 Doherty's bar and restaurant when he played a few tunes on the button accordion. The Athlone native and a group of other men had been in Westport before they arrived in the picturesque seaside village dressed as Fred Flintstone. A local source told the Irish Independent that the group had been in Westport on a stag weekend for a friend of Henshaw's who is engaged to Henshaw's sister. In a video posted on social media, Henshaw can be seen playing a 'The Redhaired Boy' while accompanied by another reveller on the tin whistle. The group were also filmed singing a rendition of Oasis' 'Don't Look Back In Anger'. The group spent a number of hours in the pub, where they sang and played tunes. The pub itself is renowned for traditional Irish music and will host The Young Wolfe Tones in the coming days. Henshaw, who has won 82 caps for Ireland and featured for the British and Irish Lions in 2017 and 2021, married his long-time girlfriend, Sophie Marren, last year. Hailing from a family steeped in music, Henshaw started learning the fiddle before taking up the button accordion in his youth.

Ireland rugby star wows pub-goers with Fred Flintstone accordion session

Doherty's Bar in Mulranny Mayo got some star treatment from Robbie Henshaw over the weekend Robbie Henshaw wows punters in Mayo bar with his accordion skills on stag party Irish and Lions centre Robbie Henshaw was videoed in Mayo over the weekend as part of a wacky stag party. The Leinster man was in popular pub Doherty's in Mulranny in Mayo with his pals as they broke out into song. Henshaw surprised staff and locals by being an accomplished accordion player to accompany his mates who were on guitar and tin whistle. The footage was shared widely on the pub's socials over the last 48 hours receiving over 100k views. Robbie Henshaw has shown a skill for both rugby as well as music. The popular boozer were more than happy to see the former Grand Slam winner come through their doors, posting: 'We were thrilled to welcome Irish Rugby international and Leinster star Robbie Henshaw today — and who better to treat us to a few tunes on the box!' A lot of Irish rugby fans expected the rugby legend to be Down Under this summer with the British and Irish Lions but head coach Andy Farrell opted not to pick him for the successful 2-1 winning tour. The 32 year old is still a huge part of Ireland's rugby future and may even harbour hopes of making the next Lions tour of New Zealand in 2029. The centre has shown a serious aptitude for the craic agus ceol in the past and even previously showed off his accordion skills on The Late Late Show. Last year, the rugby star was spotted at the Fleadh Cheoil in Wexford and pulled out a fine version of Galway Girl to a room full of engaged punters. The Athlone native comes from a long line of musicians and has previously opened up on how trad sessions were a big factor in his family life growing up in Westmeath. Having whetted his musical appetite with the tinwhistle, the multi-talented rugby ace then moved onto the button accordian. While Robbie is clearly enjoying his summer break, his attention will soon turn to matters on the pitch once again when Leinster kick off their new season in South Africa next month. The recently-minted URC champions will also face off with bitter rivals Munster in the iconic confines of Croke Park in October.
