Billy Ray Cyrus 'fixing toxic family feud' after startling realisation
Liz Hurley and Billy Rae Cyrus raised eyebrows when they went public but not only are they smitten, says a source, the model is helping her country singer boyfriend turn his life around
Elizabeth Hurley and her country legend beau Billy Ray Cyrus have been cosying up at glamorous events since going public in April – but their romance runs far deeper than red carpet appearances together, a source close to Liz has claimed to OK!.
They told OK! that Liz, 60, is also helping mend the 63-year-old singer's heartache, by gently encouraging him to fix his fractured relationships with his children, including singers Miley and Noah, after he 'pushed them all away'.
'Liz is the love of Billy Ray's life – that's what he calls her,' claimed the source. 'Her friends are saying she's never been happier and that she feels she can totally turn his life around. He's seen how close she is to her own son, Damian and she is helping him mend those sometimes difficult relationships with his daughter and the rest of the family.
She's helping him reconnect with his family and mend those relationships. She knows how important it is, as she's very close with Damian and she wants the same for Billy Ray. They're stronger than ever – he's fallen for her in every possible way. She's hoping she will be the guiding light and bring out the best in him.'
Achy Breaky Heart singer Billy Ray has described Liz as 'a great human being' and credited her with bringing joy back into his life. The couple have appeared together at several high-profile events, from the Orizzonti/Rosso exhibition in Rome to various fundraising galas in London.
They sent shockwaves through the showbiz world when they went public in April, following one of the most difficult chapters in Billy Ray's life.
The American singer had been dealing with the fallout from his split from second wife Tish – who he had been married to for 30 years in 2022. This was followed by his subsequent brief marriage to third wife Firerose, who he married in 2023 and divorced in 2024.
There were rumours of tension, following his split from Tish, among his six children – Miley, Noah and Braison (who he had with Tish), Brandi and Trace (who he adopted during his marriage to their mother, Tish) and Christopher (who he had with former girlfriend Kristin Luckey).
Trace, 36, posted an open letter to his dad on Instagram in January to say the family were 'genuinely worried' about him. He wrote, 'Since my earliest memories, all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever. I wanted to be just like you. The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life.
"Sadly, the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognise now. It seems this world has beaten you down and it's become obvious to everyone but you. You may be upset with me for posting this but I really couldn't care less at this point. Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you've pushed all of us away.'
While Miley didn't respond to her brother's statement, there were rumours she had fallen out with her dad too. However, since Billy Ray started dating Liz, the family appear to be coming back together. The pair headed out to support Miley at the premiere of her new film Something Beautiful in London last month.
'Billy Ray has been on the wrong track and was previously hitting the bottle and struggling,' said our source. 'Liz leads a super clean lifestyle – she's very fit, super into what she eats and keeping in top shape, and she's trying to help him in every area of his life, from his health to his family.'
Billy Ray and Liz's friendship began when they filmed the 2022 festive flick Christmas In Paradise together. Billy Ray previously revealed that Liz had contacted him while he was experiencing difficulties in his personal life, which became the trigger for their romance.
Appearing on Apple Music Country's The Ty Bentli Show , Billy Ray recalled, 'I felt like, 'Wow, can life get any harder? Can it get any tougher?' For me, at a certain point, it was like, you can't get knocked down any flatter than lying on your back when life is kicking you. And in this moment a friend reached out.'
Billy Ray said Liz's message said something like, 'Hey, it looks like life might be a little bit tough and just wanted you to know I'm in your corner – you've got a friend in your corner.'
Billy explained that he didn't have Liz's number saved in his mobile and was baffled by who was behind the message. 'So, I text back, 'Who is this?' And it's like, 'Elizabeth Hurley.' Of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most – this friend who made me laugh.'

Charli XCX accused of 'miming' at Glastonbury as famous face appears in set
Charli XCX took to the Other Stage at Worthy Farm as the final headliner on Saturday - and she certainly worked the Glastonbury crowd. In comparison to a sparse looking turnout for Neil Young, Charli was treated to a bumper audience as she left little to the imagination in her energetic performance. Taking to the stage in a black crop top and skimpy paints, she seductively teased the crowd and cameras. However, with those in attendance lapping up the display, it appears viewers at home weren't as impressed. Taking to Twitter/X, some fans blasted the singer for seemingly miming. One user fumed: "Oh ffs can't watch Scissor Sisters and Charli XCX is bloody dreadful. Could literally be any random person miming. WTF for a Glastonbury Saturday night, disappointing." Another added: "Predictable but shame nonetheless that charli xcx can't sing live #Glastonbury2025 #charlixcx FAKE." And a third said: "Charli xcx Embarressing [sic]that, turning up to walk around stage pretending to sing…" "What part of Charli XCX is 'live music' ? Get her off that stage ffs #Glastonbury2025," raged another. However, it wasn't all negative as another gushed: "Charli xcx the icon you are #Glastonbury2025." A second agreed, saying: "charli xcx killing it." And a third penned: "Charli xcx is taking over Glasto, she's bloody amazing." And as she found her "Apple Girl", cameras panned onto American singer Gracie Abrams. The 32-year-old artist from Cambridge reached new heights in the music industry last year after releasing hit album Brat. The album topped the charts in the UK, Ireland, and Australia. And it also made an impressive debut at number three on the Billboard 200. The singer is best known for hits like 360, 365, Speed Drive, Apple, Official, and not forgetting her earlier bangers Boom Clap, Boys, and Vroom Vroom. She had earlier been spotted alongside Denise Welch in the build-up to her show. Denise, who is the mum of The 1975's lead singer Matty Healy, shared a snap of the pair on social media. She captioned the sun-soaked image: "Talking about my BRAT flag." Charli and Matty are close pals, with the frontman of The 1975 calling out his friend during his own set. Earlier on Saturday, Kneecap's controversial Glastonbury set caused bosses to shut down the West Holts stage ahead of the Irish trio's performance. It came after calls for the festival to pull the band from the festival. Instead, the BBC just removed them from their live streaming of the festival. But such was the size of the crowd prior to their appearance, the area was closed off, with no other fans allowed to enter approximately an hour before they entered the stage.

Glastonbury shut stage down ahead of rappers' performance as they struggle with overcrowding again
GLASTONBURY Festival is dealing with a new overcrowding issue after declaring fans to AVOID one of the major stages. As Neil Young took to the main Pyramid stage as the headliner of the evening, pop fans have ditched the rocker in favour of other acts. The team simply posted a message on X (formerly Twitter), declaring: "No access to Woodsies. Please head to another area of the site - thank you." Doechii – who has topped the charts this year with her songs Denial Is A River and Anxiety – is still set to perform as planned. Advertisement This is the second time Woodsies has been forced to shut down for crowd control – with Lorde's early Friday morning surprise set also causing chaos. The New Zealand singer appeared on stage to celebrate the release of her new album, Virgin, in a last minute appearance. So the news came as a massive annoyance to ticketholders, who have criticised the team for poor organisation. They've been particularly critical of putting big names like Charli XCX and Doechii against each other on the line-up, and on smaller stages that don't have the capacity needed for the crowd. Advertisement "Terrible programming throughout, you need a massive re think for your next festival," wrote one. "doechii and charli clashing at glasto is EVIL WORK!!" said another. Glastonbury chaos as bosses are forced to SHUT part of festival as Lorde performs surprise set "Glastonbury really looked at all the vibrant amazing young artists around and said "nah, lets pump the big slots full of elderly white men". I'm not being funny but I'm struggling to stay awake for Doechii watching Neil Young..." noted a third. And a fourth said: "It's full to capacity? Nobody's at the Pyramid Stage for Neil Young. Everyone is either at Woodsies or the Other Stage for Charli XCX Advertisement "Glastonbury has shit the bed a bit here. Field packed for Charli XCX. Woodsies closed an hour ahead of time for Scissor Sisters. Doechii still to come. Pyramid very sparse for Neil Young. Meanwhile PULP do an hour in the afternoon and fill the space" 5 Glastonbury organisers have urged attendees not to go to the Woodsies stage Credit: Getty

The Scottish singer stunned the Worthy Farm crowd with a surprise set at this year's festival. But it wasn't just the British fans he wanted to make it up to. Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the Someone You Loved singer, 28, wrote: "Had to come back and make it up to you all x" And in similar fashion to his gig a day earlier, Lewis surprised fans in Switzerland after previously having to pull out of a show in 2023. The clip shared by Lewis showed the crowd being told in Switzerland in 2023: "Lewis Capaldi can't sing for us right now. "So we're going to sing for Lewis Capaldi." The scenes showed how the crowd at the time at OpenAir St Gallen coming together to show support for the star by singing his hit tune. Lewis then told his followers: "You filled in for me when I couldn't be there." And a video then showed him walking back on stage to huge applause as he said: "Switzerland 2025 I wanted to make it up to you." After waving at his adoring crowd, he then said: "My name's Lewis Capaldi and I'm f***ing back baby. Here we go." He paused mid song once again to emotionally take in the moment as the crowd serenaded him. As he finished the song he shared a sweet laugh at the scenes as fans flashed love heart signs with their hands. Fans in the comment section were keen to also share their support to the pop star. One user gushes: "The LEGEND IS BACK," while another praised: "What a comeback," with a love heart emoji. A third told him: "You are so incredibly loved. It was great to see you on that stage," an another added: "This is why we need to support each other with understanding, support and grace. I LOVE this. And it's very, very helpful and inspiring. Brilliant! Blessings to all." Following his impressive and emotional comeback, Lewis has released his first new song in two years. He had sent shockwaves on social media when he dropped a teaser for his brand new song in a poignant Instagram video just hours before his Glastonbury appearance. The song, titled Survive, clearly means a lot to the BRIT Award winning artist who has faced much turmoil over the past two years after stepping out of the limelight due to his mental health. Alongside the video, Lewis wrote: "It's been a while." And in classic Lewis style, the artist's new song is full of emotion. Lyrics on the track include "I swear to God I'll survive" and "I'm going to get up and live until the day that I die."
