"Hamilton" original cast to reunite for Tony Awards 2025 performance in June
Members of the original cast of the hit Broadway musical "Hamilton" will reunite for an anniversary performance at the Tony Awards on June 8.
Stars Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom, Jr., Philippa Soo, Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jonathan Groff, Christopher Jackson, Jasmine Cephas Jones and Okieriete Onaodowan will perform alongside other original ensemble cast members, CBS and Tony Award Productions announced in a news release Thursday.
The announcement did not say what the cast would perform.
The performance will celebrate the record-breaking musical's 10th anniversary. "Hamilton" opened on Broadway in 2015 and became an immediate sensation. It received a record-breaking 16 nominations at the 2016 Tony Awards and took home 11, including "Best Musical." It also received a Grammy Award, an Olivier Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. A filmed version of the musical featuring most of the original cast was released on Disney+ in 2020.

The performance is not the only celebration of the musical's milestone year. Odom Jr. is set to return to the Richard Rodgers Theatre to reprise his role as Aaron Burr from Sept. 9 to Nov. 23.
Who else will perform at the Tony Awards?
Other performances have not yet been announced. Typically, shows nominated for Best Musical and Best Revival of a Musical perform.
Musicals "Buena Vista Social Club," "Death Becomes Her" and "Maybe Happy Ending" were each nominated for 10 awards, including "Best Musical." Plays "John Proctor is the Villain" and "The Hills of California" each received seven nominations.

Broadway's biggest night, hosted by "Wicked" star Cynthia Erivo, will be held at New York City's Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 8, at 8 p.m. ET. The Oscar-nominated actress said she is proud to take on the "glorious honor."
The Tony Awards will air on CBS and Paramount+.
Before the awards are broadcast, nominee Darren Criss and Goldsberry will host "The Tony Awards: Act One," a live preshow that will be available to viewers for free on Pluto TV.

Many fans have expressed concern for Katherine's well being in the house, even taking to Katherine's Instagram comments and seeking out her family members. An Instagram account linked to Tracy Michelle Spencer—identified as Katherine's stepmom—reportedly addressed the concerns in comments captured by @BigBrotherSpoilers. In her statement, Tracy implied that she and Katherine's father had been in touch with CBS and production, writing in part, 'I'm pleased to report that CBS has been responsive and communicative. Once we receive the requested information, we will make a public statement that is based on first hand knowledge rather than speculation.' It's unclear what information Katherine's family has requested from CBS, but given the growing concern among fans, hopefully it involves assurances from Katherine herself that she feels safe in the Big Brother house. Rylie's mother, meanwhile, defended her son in a new interview. 'He's not some obsessive stalker-type person like everyone is saying,' Michelle Jeffries told TMZ. 'He's got a great heart and wears it on his sleeve.' She also defended her son from allegations that he had welcomed a baby while in the Big Brother house and had been refusing to support his pregnant ex when he left to compete on the show. According to TMZ, Michelle said that her son was willing to take a paternity test, but had 'no reason to believe' that he was the father, despite his ex's reported statements claiming otherwise. There was one controversy, however, that Michelle didn't comment on: Rylie has reportedly been charged twice for driving without a valid license, which has caused some fans to wonder how he was even allowed in the house in the first place given the extensive background checks prior to casting.

Fathom Entertainment releases the film in theaters Sept. 30 to Oct. 2. Named after her song from the Broadway show Hamilton, Satisfied follows Renée Elise Goldsberry from her auditions for the show through winning the Tony Award for it. As Hamilton mania built, Goldsberry opened up about struggles during performances. "Sometimes now when I'm doing the show, I keep having panic attacks throughout the number," Goldsberry confesses on camera. "This is starting to feel like a runaway train overwhelming everything else in my life completely." Goldsberry speaks in the film about her dual dreams to have a family and be an actor/singer. She wonders sometimes if those dreams are mutually exclusive. Cameras inside her home show her children missing her while she is rehearsing and performing, and her husband, Alexis Johnson, stating they are creating a home where everyone thrives. The documentary also shows Goldsberry trying to get pregnant. Her son, Benjamin, was born in 2009 and the trailer shows her embarking on her sixth pregnancy. She and Johnson adopted Brielle in 2014. Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda also participates in the documentary, praising Goldsberry's fast rapping skills and confirming the demands the show places on performers.
