Madden 26: From Josh Allen to Saquon Barkley, 7 NFL stars who made it to this year's 99 ratings club
'Introducing your official #Madden26 99 Club Class! Sundays Start Early! 7 Days Early Access Begins 8/7*,' wrote the official page of Madden NFL 26 on social media.
Here's a look at who made the cut this year, as revealed by the official website of EA Sports:
Ja'Marr Chase (Wide Receiver, Cincinnati Bengals)
SPD 95, STR 73, AGI 92, COD 97, INJ 92, AWR 99
Given Ja'Marr Chase's ability to catch and block, it's no surprise that the Bengals wide receiver managed to cut through the list.
Josh Allen (Quarterback, Buffalo Bills)
SPD 88, STR 81, AGI 85, COD 82, INJ 99, AWR 96
THE 2024 NFL cover star returns to the same list for a consecutive year. Impressive stats (98 stamina and toughness) along with his throwing skills helped secure Allen's spot.
Justin Jefferson (Wide Receiver, Minnesota Vikings)
SPD 91, STR 64, AGI 95, COD 98, INJ 94, AWR 99
As the only other wide receiver to enter the list alongside Chase, Jefferson's edge in scoring better marks in the passing category add to his abilities.
Lamar Jackson (Quarterback, Baltimore Ravens)
SPD 96, STR 63, AGI 94, COD 95, INJ 92, AWR 97
Formerly on the cover of Madden NFL 21, Lamar Jackson brings speed, mobility and impressive throws on the table.
Lane Johnson (Right Tackle, Philadelphia Eagles)
SPD 77, STR 93, AGI 75, COD 58, INJ 84, AWR 99
Initially drafted with the Eagles back in 2013, Lane Johnson helped the team to a Super Bowl victory during his time as right tackle. Johnson's blocking stats currently cross well over 90 on the board, as reported by ESPN.
Saquon Barkley (Halfback, Philadelphia Eagles)
SPD 95, STR 81, AGI 95, COD 94, INJ 91, AWR 99
As the cover star for Madden 26, Saquon Barkley certainly takes the biggest slice of the cake this year.
Myles Garrett (Right Defensive End, Cleveland Browns)
SPD 87, STR 96, AGI 86, COD 71, INJ 92, AWR 97
As the final addition to this year's list, Myles Garrett's archetype falls in the category of being a power rusher.
All of these players have an OVR rating of 99.
EA Sports is set to officially launch Madden 26 on August 14. The Deluxe Edition can be pre-ordered to play seven days in advance.

‘Bullet missed Andy Reid by 15 feet': Bulletproof glass installed in Chiefs coach's office after 2024 shooting, report says
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid narrowly avoided danger in May 2024 when a bullet pierced his office window while he was inside. The shot, which entered through glass and lodged in a wall roughly 15 feet from his desk, is being investigated as aggravated assault, according to Kansas City Police. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made. Bullet fired into Andy Reid's office while he was inside Reid was working late at the Chiefs' practice facility just after midnight on May 4, 2024, when a bullet broke through the glass of his second-floor office, per the Kansas City Star. The round penetrated the blinds and landed in a wall between his bathroom and office door. Two additional bullets struck the facility that night, one hit an outdoor air-conditioning unit, and another struck the third floor above Reid's office. 'No one was struck, and there were no injuries associated with the incident,' a Kansas City Police spokesperson told PEOPLE. Because the building was occupied, the case is being investigated as aggravated assault. Police maintain there is 'no indication this was a targeted incident at any person or organization.' Chiefs quietly installed bulletproof glass after the incident The Chiefs took immediate security measures following the shooting. USA Today reported that Reid's office was fitted with bulletproof glass shortly after the incident. The team has not publicly commented. According to Jarrett Bell of USA Today, many staff members and players were not even aware of the event until reports surfaced this week. Police confirmed the investigation remains ongoing and detectives are awaiting further forensic analysis. Reid, 67, has been Kansas City's head coach since 2013, leading the franchise to three Super Bowl titles. He remains one of the winningest coaches in NFL history with 273 career victories, trailing only Don Shula, George Halas, and Bill Belichick. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now While the case is still open, authorities continue to treat the shooting as random gunfire rather than a targeted attack. Reid has since returned to work in the same office, now secured with bulletproof protection, as Kansas City prepares for the 2025 season.

‘Go down, Joe, it's August': Bengals sit Burrow after preseason scare
(Image via Getty) Things aren't settling down in Cincinnati. The Bengals will be without starting left guard Cordell Volson for the season and are now choosing to rest Joe Burrow after a preseason stretch that raised eyebrows across the league. Burrow, who was sacked three times in Monday's game against the Washington Commanders, won't suit up against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday. Head coach Zac Taylor confirmed his decision after criticism mounted over the risks of playing the team's $275 million quarterback in August. Joe Burrow won't play after controversial preseason decision Burrow played two series against the Philadelphia Eagles on Aug. 7 before taking three drives against Washington earlier this week. On one play, instead of sliding, he attempted to extend a scramble and was swallowed by three defenders. 'Go down, Joe, it's August,' ESPN's Joe Buck said on the broadcast. Taylor acknowledged the hit but defended his approach. 'It's one of those things for him, that's what preseason football's for. Do I love seeing that? No, I don't. But, at the same time, he's out there learning what he can and can't do and we've seen him get out of that stuff before.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Bojong Menteng: Unsold Sofas Prices May Surprise You (Prices May Surprise You) Sofas | Search Ads Search Now Undo Burrow has already led four touchdowns in five preseason drives, but Taylor made it clear: 'I'm not anticipating any starters playing.' The Bengals will keep their quarterback on the sideline until Week 1 at Cleveland on Sept. 7. Cordell Volson's season-ending injury leaves Bengals scrambling The loss of Volson adds another blow to Cincinnati's shaky protection. ESPN's Ben Baby first reported that the guard will undergo season-ending surgery on his right shoulder after being hurt at practice Aug. 15. Volson has started 48 games since being drafted in 2022, but his 2024 season metrics told a story of inconsistency. According to Pro Football Focus, he allowed six of Burrow's 48 sacks, committed eight penalties, and ranked 97th in pass-blocking grade. His lone strength was run blocking, where he graded No. 53. Taylor called the injury 'a tough one for him' and admitted surgery was likely. Cincinnati has already brought in Dalton Risner for a visit. In 537 snaps last season, Risner didn't allow a sack or draw a penalty. He was ranked No. 13 among guards in pass blocking with a 76.2 grade, a major upgrade over Volson. With right guard Lucas Patrick and Cody Ford also listed as questionable, the Bengals are thin at the position heading into the season opener. Can Cincinnati keep Joe Burrow upright in 2025? This season is pivotal for the Bengals. They've missed the postseason in back-to-back years after making a Super Bowl run in 2021 and reaching the AFC Championship in 2022. Despite having Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins, defensive lapses and line issues have derailed them. ESPN analyst Ryan Clark recently said the team is 'absolutely' wasting Burrow's prime years. With Volson out, Hendrickson still holding out, and minimal offseason upgrades, Cincinnati enters 2025 in another precarious spot. Taylor insists the team is ready. 'I feel good about where our team's at right now,' he said. 'I'm excited to get through the preseason and go play games because I see what I see in practice.' The Bengals open the regular season at Cleveland on Sept. 7. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!

Is Tom Brady the shorter one now? ‘Jack is way more beastly than you,' says Rob Gronkowski
(Images via Tom Brady's IG) Recently, Tom Brady shared an Instagram carousel from The Hills in East Quogue, N.Y., featuring a golf day with his 17-year-old son, John 'Jack' Edward Thomas Moynahan. The cover photo showed Jack looking taller than Brady, who is listed at 6-foot-4. Former teammates and friends jumped into the comments, turning a routine post into a light roast. 'Jack is way more beastly than you': big reactions to Brady's post Brady captioned the gallery, 'Everything still pretty much the same 'round here ⛳️ @nobull [sic].' On cue, the replies rolled in on Instagram. 'Jack is way more beastly than you,' Rob Gronkowski wrote. Mike Evans added, 'Is Jack standing on something? Besides business lol,' while Michael Rubin joked, 'Except I heard Jack kicked your a– yesterday!!' Brady shares Jack with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan . He also has son Benjamin, 15, and daughter Vivian, 12, with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen. Tom Brady balances broadcasting career with family life The golf outing came days before Brady's return to the booth alongside play-by-play partner Kevin Burkhardt. The pair will call the Washington Commanders' Week 1 game against the New York Giants in Landover, Md., before traveling to Kansas City for a Super Bowl rematch the following week. Brady reflected on his first year in broadcasting earlier this year, writing on Instagram, 'It certainly was a new challenge to undertake but I couldn't have asked for a better team to be a part of and learn from!' Jack, meanwhile, has his own ambitions. Reports suggest he wants to pursue basketball, adding another spotlight to being the son of one of the most famous athletes in the world. Brady has admitted the pressure is real, saying at the Fortune Global Forum in New York last year, 'To be a boy, it sucks to be Tom Brady's son in so many ways, and I try to empathize with them.'
