From Face Yoga to Facial Cupping, she trains beauty professional to expand their offerings and provide cutting-edge holistic treatment experiences. To delve into her story, Emirates Woman sat down with Ghosh to see how her journey in the beauty industry began.
What was your favorite subject at school?
I have always been interested in the arts but also loved science. However, my love for all things creative has always been stronger. I have learned various forms of dance, played musical instruments, mastered stitching, and explored painting, all of which led me to pursue a fashion degree and start my own label in the early days. At the same time, I have a deep passion for understanding the science behind things, which has shaped my approach as an entrepreneur. Interestingly, I once believed I wasn't a math person and didn't enjoy numbers, but as I grew as an entrepreneur, I fell in love with numbers and now truly enjoy analysing and working with them in both my professional and personal life. This blend of creativity and analytical thinking has driven my entrepreneurial journey for almost 30 years. What was your first job?
I started my career as a management trainee with the Taj Group of Hotels. It was an enriching experience that laid the foundation for my work ethic and passion for excellence. What brought you to Dubai?
Marriage brought me to Dubai, and over the past 25 years, this city has become home. It has provided me with incredible opportunities to grow and evolve in my career. What inspired you to enter the wellness and beauty space and launch your brand?
After almost two decades in the television industry, living a high-paced life, I experienced burnout. That moment of exhaustion made me reevaluate my definition of success. I realised that true success isn't just about external achievements but about inner well-being. Success doesn't have to come at a cost of your wellbeing. This shift led me to explore health, wellness, and holistic beauty, eventually paving the way for my work today. Talk us through the concept of your brand.
My work revolves around holistic beauty, helping women redefine beauty beyond societal standards. Through my coaching programs, academy, and content creation, I empower individuals and professionals with knowledge and tools to embrace a more conscious, wellness-driven approach to beauty. True beauty is not just about how you look, it's about how you feel about yourself. It goes beyond skincare routines and external enhancements, it starts with self-awareness, self-care, and inner confidence. The real transformation happens when you shift your inner narrative, releasing limiting beliefs and embracing a mindset that nurtures self-worth. When you feel aligned and connected to yourself, it reflects outward, creating an effortless, radiant presence. My mission is to guide women in this journey, equipping them with the tools to cultivate inner and outer beauty in a way that is authentic, empowering, and deeply fulfilling. When your self-worth goes up, your net worth goes up it What are the key elements of your role?
As an entrepreneur, every aspect of the business plays a crucial role, from overseeing strategy and operations to educating and continuously learning. However, my greatest passion lies in empowering women worldwide by redefining both inner and outer beauty. I consider myself both an entrepreneur and an educator, and I genuinely love all aspects of these roles. Over the years, I have also learned the power of delegation, allowing me to focus on growth and impact while ensuring that my businesses run efficiently. At my core, I am a serial entrepreneur, and the process of building, evolving, and running businesses truly drives me. What does your daily routine look like?
My morning rituals are sacred to me. I wake up early and begin my day with breath work, followed by at least 20 minutes of meditation. Movement is essential, so I either do strength training, Pilates, or yoga. Afterward, I have a green juice, tea, and breakfast before diving into work. My work hours extend until lunch, which I usually have around 2:30 PM. I resume work in the afternoon, and in the evening, I unwind with a walk and stretching. Throughout the day, I incorporate my beauty rituals, face massage, Face Yoga, and facial Gua Sha. I also dedicate time to reading, listening to podcasts, and continuously upgrading my knowledge. What advice would you give to those looking to follow in your footsteps?
Be prepared to do the work, not just professionally, but also personally. The inner work you do shapes your outer reality. Stay committed to learning and evolving, and success will follow. Tell us more about your products and services.
I run The Uma Show Coaching and co-own Pro Age Aesthetics Academy, where I provide training in holistic beauty for both individuals and industry professionals. My work spans across education, coaching, and content creation. I also run a YouTube channel, The Uma Show, with over 760K subscribers, along with an Instagram community of nearly 430K followers, where I share insights on beauty, wellness, and self-care. Through my platform, I teach various holistic beauty modalities, including Face Yoga, Face Massage, Facial Gua Sha, Facial Cupping, and Facial Reflexology. At Pro Age Aesthetics Academy, we specialise in training professionals in Neolifting, a transformative face massage technique that incorporates buccal (intra-oral) massage, a favorite among celebrities. This training helps beauty professionals expand their service offerings, elevate their spa and salon menus, and increase their revenue by providing clients with a cutting-edge holistic treatment experience. What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
One of the best pieces of advice I received was: Your business grows as much as you grow. Personal development is the key to professional success. And the worst?
The worst advice? 'Play it safe.' I believe growth comes from taking bold steps and embracing discomfort. Playing it safe never leads to true transformation. Get comfortable in your uncomfortable. What has been the biggest challenge you've had to overcome?
There have been many challenges, but transitioning from a career in television to the wellness industry wasn't easy. Reinventing myself and building credibility in a new space required immense effort, resilience, and dedication. What's next for your both your brands The Uma Show and Pro-Age Aesthetics Academy?
While my business is already global, my mission is to reach and empower even more women worldwide. I want to help women feel beautiful in their own skin at every stage of life shifting the focus from anti-aging to pro-aging and holistic well-being. – For more on luxury lifestyle, news, fashion and beauty follow Emirates Woman on Facebook and Instagram
