Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle continues its meteoric rise at the Japanese box office, earning 4.44 billion yen (US$30.11 million) over the past week to secure the position of the country's sixth highest-grossing film of all time. The latest instalment in the hit anime franchise also premiered in Taiwan over the weekend, its first international stop, where it topped charts and shattered records. As of 11 August, Infinity Castle has amassed 22.07 billion yen (US$149.17 million) in just 25 days, selling 15.69 million tickets, according to the series' official accounts. It overtook ONE PIECE FILM: RED for the sixth spot and now trails Your Name by just over 3 billion yen. It is also the fourth-highest-grossing anime film ever released in Japan, and continues to hold the No.1 spot for the fourth consecutive week.
Taiwan's 8 August debut, reported by The Liberty Times as the first outside Japan, earned NT$46.9 million (US$1.56 million) on opening day, the seventh-largest opening across all films in the country's history. Distributor Muse announced on Instagram that the film has since grossed over NT$170 million (US$5.67 million), surpassing Mugen Train's NT$117 million to achieve the highest-grossing opening weekend for an animated film in Taiwan.
Directed by Haruo Sotozaki at anime studio Ufotable, with Akira Matsushima as chief animation director and character designer, and music by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina, Infinity Castle opened in Japan on 18 July. The film will arrive in U.S. and Canadian theatres on 12 September. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle
Crunchyroll, which streams the TV anime, Mugen Train , and the Hashira Training Arc in sub and dub formats, describes Infinity Castle as follows:
'Tanjiro Kamado – a boy who joined an organisation dedicated to hunting down demons called the Demon Slayer Corps after his younger sister Nezuko, was turned into a demon.
While growing stronger and deepening his friendships and bonds with fellow corps members, Tanjiro has battled many demons with his comrades – Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira… The destination of where Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps have fallen is the demons' stronghold – the Infinity Castle. And so, the battleground is set as the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons ignites.'
With record-breaking momentum in both Japan and Taiwan, Infinity Castle is poised to make an even greater impact as it expands worldwide, with news of a star-studded vocal cast for its English dub, as Channing Tatum ( Deadpool & Wolverine ) and Rebecca Wang ( Blue Eye Samurai ) are added to its ranks.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle storms into Singapore theatres on 14 August 2025.

Noah Centineo Sets Sights On ‘John Rambo' Franchise Prequel

Action veteran Millennium Media is launching John Rambo , a prequel and origin film to the 1982 classic First Blood , and it looks like the production company has Noah Centineo in its crosshairs to play the titular character (via Deadline). Noah Centineo / Photo credits: Monica Schipper; Getty Images Sisu (2022) director Jalmari Helander is slated to direct the screenplay penned by the dual writers, Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, known for their work on Black Adam (2022). Sources have revealed that the film will be shot beginning in early 2026 in Thailand, and Lionsgate is at the forefront of considerations to distribute the film. The studio, having previously worked with Helander on Sisu , has also released the past two Rambo films and looks poised to have an advantage. While plot details have remained undisclosed, the upcoming film will be an origin story exploring a young John Rambo's escapades during the Vietnam War. Created by David Morell in his novel First Blood , John Rambo has become a household name, due in no small part to Sylvester Stallone's rugged portrayal in the original 1982 film. First Blood saw Stallone play the highly-skilled veteran Green Beret who, upon facing a harsh sheriff and his antagonistic deputies, has no choice but to flee into the mountains and wage a one-man war against them. Sylvester Stallone as Rambo The five films in the franchise have thus far generated more than US$800 million globally, with the latest instalment, Rambo: Last Blood (2019), produced by Millennium and Stallone's Balboa Productions, having garnered US$92 million at the box office. Though aware of the project and Centineo's new involvement, Stallone is currently uninvolved in the prequel's development. Centineo, meanwhile, has experienced a rising stardom with his roles in To All the Boys I've Loved Before (2018), The Recruit (2022) and Black Adam (2022), but his portrayal of the titular character in John Rambo looks to be an opportunity that could propel his career further. The 29-year-old is also slated to star as Ken Masters in Legendary Entertainment's live-action Street Fighter , starring opposite Jason Momoa ( Aquaman, Fast X ) and Andrew Koji ( Warrior, Snake Eyes ). Netflix ‘One Piece' Season 2 Teases 'Something Big Approaching'

Nakama, raise the sails! It's time to head to the Grand Line! Fans of Netflix's One Piece will be over the moon to know that the Straw Hat Pirates will be returning soon in season two of the live-adaptation of the popular eponymous manga by Eiichiro Oda. While not much information has been released, Netflix has officially shared another glimpse of the Straw Hats. The image depicts Nami (Emily Rudd, Fear Street ), Sanji (Taz Skylar, Gassed Up ), Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy, The Imperfects ), Roronoa Zoro (Arata Mackenyu, Rurouni Kenshin: The Final ) and Usopp (Jacob Gibson, Greenleaf ) onboard their crew's ship, the Going Merry. (L to R) Emily Rudd's Nami, Taz Skylar's Sanji, Iñaki Godoy's Luffy, Arata Mackenyu's Zoro and Jacob Gibson's Usopp onboard the Going Merry in Netflix's One Piece Season Two On top of that, Netflix has teased a major reveal ahead of One Piece Day, an annual event that celebrates all things One Piece and will take place in Tokyo this year from 9 to 10 August. In their Instagram reveal of the Straw Hats, they shared the following caption: 'Can you feel it in the wind, Nakama? 🌊 The seas are restless and rumours from the Grand Line speak of something BIG approaching for ONE PIECE DAY! 😆🏴‍☠️ Trust us, you'll want to be aboard when it hits!' While no additional details have been revealed, there has still been a great deal of information for fans to chew on while awaiting the Straw Hats' return. A statement by Oda himself has revealed that Season Two will follow the Straw Hat Pirates as they journey through the Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whisky Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island arcs. Though this remains as a great deal of source material for the show to work with, with Oda himself helming the project as an executive producer, as well as a production team who, by Oda's own admission, is committed to produce a show that will meet his standards, Season Two is likely to be just as big of a hit as Season One was. 'Seeing them all in person convinced me: they were absolutely the perfect choice!' said Oda, in an illustrated letter to the series' dedicated fans. 'Trust me, this is going to surpass Season 1! Stay tuned for Season 2!' The new season will primarily see the Straw Hat Pirates taking the perilous journey over Reverse Mountain to enter the Grand Line, the most dangerous sea in the One Piece world. Home to unpredictable phenomena and the world's most powerful pirate crews and organisations, the Grand Line will bring our Straw Hats face to face with the powerful criminal syndicate, Baroque Works, led by one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Sir Crocodile, also known as Mr. 0 within his organisation, played by Joe Manganiello ( Magic Mike XXL ). Joe Manganiello Other than Manganiello, Mikaela Hoover ( Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Superman ) joins the cast as Straw Hat Pirates' reindeer doctor, Tony Tony Chopper. Filming for Season 2 has officially wrapped, and Netflix has confirmed the release has been set for 2026. In the meantime, Mugiwara fans will simply have to hold on to their straw hats and sit tight on the masthead, for the journey will soon begin.
