A woman who was found dead at a house in West Yorkshire at the weekend has been named as 21-year-old Courtney Angus. Police were called to reports of an armed robbery at Asda in Dewsbury at about 21:20 BST, and a man arrested at the scene told them there was a woman dead at a house nearby. Officers found Miss Angus at the property on Norfolk Street, Batley, a short time later. A 37-year-old man who was arrested at the supermarket is being questioned on suspicion of murder, police said.
A knife was seized at the scene, the force added. Miss Angus was named in a tribute from her former workplace, The Fox and Hounds pub in Batley. The tribute read: "We are heartbroken to hear the devastating news about Courtney."Though she was only with us at The Fox for a short while, she left a lasting impression – sweet, kind, and always with a warm smile.
"Our deepest condolences go out to her family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved her. It's a truly sad time for Batley and Dewsbury, and our thoughts are with all affected."Forever 21. Rest in peace, Courtney."A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of what has happened, but officers would like to reassure the local community that there is not believed to be any wider risk to the public at this time."The spokesperson added that reports two other people had "come to harm" during the incident were not correct.

They arrested a man, who told officers about a woman who he believed to be dead inside a house on Norfolk Street. A knife was seized at the scene, police said. Officers attended the address in Batley and found Ms Angus, from Dewsbury. On Wednesday her family released a statement which said: 'Our lives have been shattered and turned upside down with the news that no parent wants to hear – that our gorgeous daughter and sister is no longer with us. 'Courtney had a beautiful soul. She was a lover of music, socialising and having fun. Her whole family is heartbroken over the loss of such an amazing woman. 'Courtney had many friends and family who loved her. She will be missed so dearly. 'We would like to thank the community and the media for their support, and ask for privacy at this difficult time.' The tribute came as Michael Moore, 37, of Norfolk Street in Batley, was charged with her murder. He has also been charged with possession of a bladed article, affray and two counts of threatening a person with a bladed article in a public place. Police said these charges relate to incidents in Dewsbury on the same day. Moore appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning and was remanded in custody before his next appearance at Leeds Crown Court on Friday.

A shopping centre and nearby roads have been closed in a Welsh town, after an unexploded bomb was found. Police have closed off Brackla Street from Castle Bingo down to the junction of Nolton Street in Bridgend. Brackla Street shopping centre has also been also been evacuated, with major stores including Aldi, Asda, Energie Fitness evacuated, as a precaution, reports WalesOnline. South Wales Police have urged people to avoid the area. A statement from the force said: "We were called just before 8.55am this morning with a report of an unexploded ordnance device having been found in Cheapside, Bridgend. "As a precaution Brackla Street has been closed from Castle Bingo down to the junction of Nolton Street. "We have also evacuated the following premises Aldi; Asda; Brackla House; Energie Fitness; Brackla Street shopping centre and the building site on Cheapside, again as a precaution." In a further udpate, shortly before 11.20am, South Wales Police said: "The unexploded ordnance discovered in Cheapside, Bridgend, earlier this morning has been safely removed. All the cordons have been lifted, and Brackla Street is now accessible to the public."
