Texas A&M's 2025 football roster isn't lacking talent at any position. While the disappointing 1-4 finish during the 2024 season still haunts most of the Aggie fan base, it's time to move on and look ahead, as the 2025 campaign, which his highly critical for coach Mike Elko's future, is less than 100 days away.
This offseason, during several speaking events, Elko emphasized the importance of building the program through recruiting elite talent and developing prospects to send to the NFL ultimately. During the 2025 NFL draft, only three Aggies heard their names called, led by junior edge Shemar Stewart, who was selected with the 17th overall selection by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Followed by edge Nic Scourton (Carolina Panthers) and defensive lineman Shemar Stewart (Chicago Bears) going early in the second round, three players drafted isn't a good number for most SEC programs, outside of Vanderbilt, but this was mainly due to several veterans, including left tackle Trey Zuhn, right guard Ar'maj Reed-Adams, and running back Le'Veon Moss, who would have been selected in the early rounds.
For the 2026 NFL draft, Pro Football Focus believes Texas A&M will have at least three players guaranteed to be selected in the first two or three rounds, led by linebacker Taurean York, guard Ar'maj Reed-Adams, and wide receiver KC Concepcion, who transferred to College Station from NC State this offseason. Two former Aggies were also ranked, led by defensive tackle LT Overton (20th) and, former Texas A&M QB turned star Vanderbilt tight end Eli Stowers finsihing the rankings at No. 50. Texas A&M needs to take advantage of the talent and experience on the roster, which would be a shame, and detrimental to the coaching staff to waste in 2025.

After a successful summer in New York, Huff landed a chance to crack the Jets' 53-man roster ahead of opening day. During his rookie effort, Huff appeared in 14 games. He registered 16 tackles and two sacks. It became clear that the young pass rusher had a future in the league, leading him to stick around as a key contributor in New York for several seasons. Throughout his final three seasons with the Jets, Huff would appear in 40 games. He totaled 15.5 sacks, registered 39 QB hits, and nearly notched 50 tackles, with 13 going for a loss. As the Eagles braced for a critical loss on the defensive line, they looked to fill the void by signing Huff to a three-year contract. At the time, Huff was viewed as a major acquisition for the Eagles, who hoped to contend for a Super Bowl with a strong pass rush. The Huff experience in Philadelphia didn't go as planned. The veteran appeared in just 12 games for the Eagles, starting in half of those matchups. He collected under three sacks and had just 13 tackles to show for at the end of the regular season. Amid the Eagles' Super Bowl run, Huff played in just two games. He didn't produce any stats as the Eagles flew their way through the NFL Playoffs and landed in New Orleans for the Super Bowl rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs. Although Huff wraps up his Eagles tenure on a low note, he'll get a chance to bounce back with the 49ers. While the veteran pass rusher is still getting paid a notable salary as he enters year two of his $51 million deal, one bad year in Philadelphia doesn't guarantee he can't get back on track when he joins the 49ers for the start of the 2025 NFL season.

Florida football: Three former Gators named to CFB Hall of Fame ballot
Three former Florida football standouts ― Alex Brown, Brad Culpepper and Percy Harvin ― were named on June 2 to the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame ballot for the 2026 class. Harvin helped lead the Florida Gators to national championships in 2006 and 2008 as a two-way rushing and receiving threat in head coach Urban Meyer's spread offense. In three seasons at UF, Harvin had 33 catches for 1,929 yards and 13 TDs, while rushing 194 times for 1,852 yards on 19 TDs. He went on to a seven-year NFL career, winning a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks in 2014. Advertisement Brown played at UF from 1998-2001 under Steve Spurrier, earning consensus All-American honors his final season at UF. A Japser native and former Hamilton High standout, Brown finished his four-year Florida career with 161 tackles, 47 tackles for loss and 33 sacks. He went on to an eight-year NFL career with the Chicago Bears (2002-09) and New Orleans Saints (2010). Culpepper played at UF from 1988-91, finishing his career with 47.5 tackles for loss, 18 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 5 fumble recoveries and 4 pass breakups.
