One of the best things about having subscriptions to all the best streaming services is the way in which each one often caters to a different audience, but also the way they can sometimes surprise you. This week's list of streaming highlights has the wide variety of content you might expect, but not necessarily in the places you might expect it.
This week offers a movie that is sure to be fun for the whole family, but it's not coming to Disney+, it's on Netflix. No, Disney+ is instead the place where you'll find the most mature and violent series of the week. This week's new reality series offering home and gardening tips isn't from a Discovery series on Max. Max instead debuts an A24 horror movie that is the scariest film of the week. Here's a look at what to watch, and where to find it.
Following several cameos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in everything from Spider-Man: No Way Home to She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, Charlie Cox stars alongside Vincent D'Onofrio in Daredevil: Born Again. The first of at least two seasons of a new Daredevil series that brings back nearly everything fans loved about the original Netflix series, only now you'll need a Disney+ subscription to watch it.
Originally set to debut in January, the decision was made to push back Meghan Markle's new Netflix series out of respect for those dealing with the devastating Southern California wildfires. The eight-part series will arrive March 4, and will see the Duchess of Sussex provide tips in areas including cooking and gardening.

Not only does it turn a page for our protagonists' lives, careers, and relationships, it takes them to the show's first international location, Singapore, via the spectacular Jewel Changi Airport complex, known simply as 'Jewel.' Photo Credit: Sam Chin/Max The Jewel Changi Airport on Hacks After publicly quitting her dream job as a late-night talk show host ( Hacks Season 4 Episode 9, 'Bulletproof'), Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) finds herself professionally hogtied by the network's non-compete clause. Since she can't perform or try out any new material on audiences, she agrees to take a vacation to Hawaii. Ava (Hannah Einbinder) goes along, excited to get her aloha on. RELATED: Movie Review: Babylon However, inspiration strikes mid-air, and Deborah reroutes their flight to Singapore instead, where she can deliver her stand-up sitting down through a translator to receptive audiences without leaving herself open to litigation. Ava, unaware of the itinerary change, soon realizes they are not getting lei-ed. Her first clue is the 40-meter-high indoor waterfall pouring through a glass-domed rainforest INSIDE. THE. AIRPORT. Photo Credit: Max The Rain Vortex The waterfall is called the Rain Vortex and is the centerpiece attraction of Jewel, the nature-themed entertainment and retail complex opened in 2019 as an extension to Changi Airport's Terminal 1. The Rain Vortex pumps recirculated rainwater to the donut-shaped roof where it free-falls through the center hole at a rate of up to 10,000 gallons per minute. At night, the waterfall is lit up at 8 and 9 o'clock (additional show at 10 pm on weekends) with a breathtaking sound and light showcase. Beautiful jewels require appropriate settings, and the Rain Vortex is perfectly showcased by the surrounding Shiseido Forest Valley. Five stories high, encompassing approximately 240,000 square feet, it houses over 2,000 trees and palms and about 100,000 shrubs of 120 species from around the world. Above that, at the top level of Jewel is Canopy Park, a 150,000 square foot recreation and leisure facility. To add the other attractions — Hedge Maze, Mirror Maze, Bouncing Net, Walking Net, and Canopy Bridge — there are Bundle Deals costing about 42 USD per adult and 30 USD per child. Well, Jewel's got you covered. In imagining Jewel, its creators set out to design a destination, not just a thoroughfare. Locals plan staycations at Jewel, while visitors are welcome to make it a part of their sightseeing itinerary. Jewel offers over 250 retail options for shopping, dining, and recreation. In the Changi Experience Studio, you learn about the airport's history and tech through 20 interactive programs. At 30,000 square feet, the studio contains 10 different content zones. Tickets can be bundled with a 15-minute flight simulator experience for about 50 USD. RELATED: Read our previous On Location articles The Yotelair Singapore Changi Airport is the first in Asia. It offers rooms termed 'cabins' for stays as short as four hours, a 24/7 dining lounge, free wi-fi, and several discounts and services in partnership with other Jewel businesses. The Resorts World Sentosa stood in for the Sentosa Casino in Hacks . She and Ava dine with the fishes at the Ocean Restaurant in the Equarius Hotel. Marina Bay provides the backdrop for their water-level outdoor night-time conversations. Meanwhile, Deborah's sky-high dramatics are shot on the Marina Bay Sands' SkyPark Observation Deck. All four seasons of Hacks are streaming on Max. Joe Manganiello, Who Starred in ‘Pee-wee's Big Holiday,' Chokes Up Remembering Late Friend Paul Reubens: 'I Was His Biggest Fan'
There's renewed interest in the life and career of Paul Reubens thanks to the critically acclaimed two-part documentary Pee-Wee as Himself from HBO Max. The film, from filmmaker Matt Wolf, recently hit the streamer after a world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January. Wolf worked closely with Reubens in pulling together the project, culled from more than 40 hours of on-camera interviews and 1,000 hours of archival footage and shaped over what turned out to be an emotional rollercoaster lasting four years. As the interview was winding down, THR asked Manganiello about the documentary and Reubens, someone he got to know quite well when he filmed a starring role in Netflix's 2016 film Pee-Wee's Big Holiday. As it turned out, Manganiello had been thinking a lot about his friend, who died on July 30, 2023, following a private battle with cancer. 'I love Paul and I miss Paul a lot,' Manganiello said, adding that he had recently woken up after having a dream about Reubens. 'Paul showed up and pranked me with a practical joke in my dream. It was one of those dreams when you wake up and it feels really real. It was so vivid. I just thought, gosh, if there was anyone on the planet who would use the afterlife to figure out how to play a practical joke on his friends and prank them in their sleep, it would be Paul. He was so generous.' As has been well-documented, Reubens loved birthdays and would never let one slip by without making it special. 'When he found out when your birthday was, he would bombard you with birthday cards, birthday messages, birthday texts, birthday videos the entire day,' Manganiello recalled. 'Friends of mine who just met him in passing through me, he would get their numbers and do it to 'em, too.' In the film, Manganiello plays himself and the actor recalled that Reubens wrote the part specifically for him, calling the gesture 'a validation that one of the great comedic geniuses would call me up' to be his partner on the film. 'He was such a genius, but he didn't demand that you treated him that way. I remember when we went to set the first day, I said, 'Paul, when we get there, am I calling you Paul or am I calling you Pee-wee? Are you in character?' He said, 'No, I'm Paul.' When I got there, he was there in a full-on suit and bow-tie [like Pee-Wee] but he was still Paul. He really wanted to set you up to win.' Starring Reubens as the iconic Pee-wee Herman, the John Lee-directed Pee-wee's Big Holiday follows the adventures of the title character after a fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger inspires him to take his first-ever holiday in this epic story of friendship and destiny. The cast also includes Jessica Pohly, Alia Shawkat and Stephanie Beatriz. Reubens co-wrote the film with Paul Rust and produced it alongside Judd Apatow. As for the doc, at the time of THR's interview, Manganiello hadn't yet seen Pee-Wee as Himself, but he was excited by the fact that it exists. 'It's a good time for it and I think it's going to be really effective since it comes from his perspective,' said the veteran star. 'I think there's a lot of confusion with people about out what he was in trouble for and what he wasn't in trouble for, and that narrative has gotten really muddy. I think that he really did get a raw deal, and it really hurt him deeply. He was someone that felt things really deeply, and it's sad for me because I look back and I think about what the world would've been like had he not had to go into this self-imposed exile or this kind of society-imposed exile. It was dumb.' Manganiello, like so many of Reubens' close friends and collaborators, did not know about his years-long battle with cancer. And speaking about him in the interview caused him to get choked up and fight back tears, an emotional moment that he later discussed with People Magazine. 'I think about him all the time. I miss him a lot. He was like a family member. He would come over for Thanksgiving, he would come over to the house all the time, or I'd go to his [house],' recalled Manganiello, getting teary. 'He sent me a video before he passed away. It was just him talking about how much he loved me and how great I was in the movie and how funny he thought I was, how great of an actor he thought I was. It was just this glowing, unbelievable video. I didn't realize that he was sending that because he knew that his time was going to be short. I still have it in my phone and it's hard knowing that it's in there, but that's just the kind of person that he was. He let everybody that he loved know that he loved him all the time. I just feel so privileged to have had the chance to work with him on that intimate of a level and to get to know him as a person. I was his biggest fan. I loved him. I'll always miss him.'
